Chapter 53

Isabella's POV.
"If you want to turn against those who would otherwise belong to the White Birch Pack, you better think twice about it. Because that would be the equivalent of declaring war on all werewolves." Elijah stood in front of me, shielding me behind him.
It was then I noticed that I was standing really close to the edge of the territory. If I left the territory, then indeed he could do nothing to protect me.
I grabbed his arm, signaling that there was no need for him to treat me this way. Elijah had no intention whatsoever of backing off.
"No, I thought about it again. This whole thing is your fault. You have brought unnecessary calamity to this Pack. So I have reason to challenge you."
"The Spider Hand stood in the shadows, looking at me with dead eyes, as if he were looking at some kind of prey.
I stared at him the same way. He must have used some forbidden spell, otherwise he wouldn't have grown so fast. Now he looked almost like an adult.
"But your situation makes us ......"
Dueling certainly wasn't against the rules, but I didn't want to duel with someone like that. I didn't know if he could even be considered a werewolf anymore.
"I just did what I had to do!" He turned into a wolf and used to rush to my face.
Elijah rushed away from me. He was alpha, and in theory he should be the tallest one here. But at this angle, the boy didn't even seem to be that much shorter than Elijah.
How did he do it? All I could think of was Liam.
I'm afraid he's the only one with that kind of wickedness, and he's the only one who can make a kid trust him so much. We know all too well what he's done before.
The two of them wrestled together like a whole giant ball of dough. In the gap between the two of them separating slightly, I aimed my bow at his abdomen.
"You!" The man roared at me. Immediately after that, his throat was gripped by Elijah, and he was completely pinned to the ground.
But a black liquid flowed from his body. Even when it touched the ground, the liquid made an eerie sound.
"This is, what?" I was so frightened by this scene that I almost dropped the crossbow in my hand. But at that instant, the boy bounced up from the ground like a spring and ran deep into the jungle.
"Shall we go after him?" The guard asked.
"Don't mind them. Take the alpha back for treatment first. His teeth seem to be poisoned." I looked in horror at the black marks on Elijah's arm.
"No, it's not that. This seems to be simply his blood." He likewise looked at his arm.
I realized then that there was actually no wound on his arm at all.
"That's not very unusual, Isabella," Mia marveled in my head.
"What the hell is this?"
I tore a piece of fabric from my own jacket and wiped the black off Elijah's arm. But I shoveled up the blood-stained dirt and raced back to the medical room with it.
James had left a lot of medication behind when he left, and I figured that stuff would come in handy.
"What are you doing?" Oliver stopped me. "luna, what's inside that box in front of you is very precious to us and is something that should not be wasted at all."
"I think that intruder just now is related to Liam." I answered him seriously.
I knew it was his responsibility to stop me from using these potions rashly, so I wouldn't affect his work.
It's just that I needed a reasonable explanation so badly.
"As if it's not appropriate to make that accusation alone if you don't have any evidence." Oliver reminded me.
"This potion is even less to be taken out so easily."
"But it's quicker this way." I didn't pay any attention to him.
"I I know that this medicine is not to be used freely. But if there is any problem, I will take responsibility for it."
He took a step back and even pushed the box with the medication towards me.
"Okay, luna. it's just that this thing really isn't that easy, so you need to be careful."
If he had recent contact with Liam, the potions would have reacted strongly, and Liam had summoned those blood-sucking bats that carried the spell that could react with the potions.
I put those drops on the blood-stained dirt. After a few minutes, the potion on the ground was like lava, bubbling over and over.
"That's the reaction. It means they had contact recently." I could barely control my voice at all.
I could barely think. I knew all too well what this meant.
It meant that the crisis we were facing was still not over and that they could come back here at any moment.
"Isabella, I think there's something I need you to come see me about." Elijah's voice rang out over the jamming link, and I followed his instructions in that direction.
There were many people scurrying around in panic, and some were even screaming.
"Is something happening?" I grabbed one of the people around me.
"Is it how it is over there?"
He looked obviously terrified and was trembling as he spoke.
"luna! An unknown person just broke into our medical room. Today is the time for the little ones to have their bodies checked, including your child as well ......"
"What!"
I could hardly believe my ears. My baby, don't let anything go wrong!
I ran quickly towards the medical room. There was only blood and a few staff members left in there, as well as the parents who were crying.
Some of them wanted to rush out to get a statement, but were stopped by others.
It was simply a most incorrect thing to do to run out of the territory when Liam could be there. Not only would they not be able to get their children out, but they might not even be able to guarantee their own lives.
I was about to turn around and evacuate them when I saw the black blood on the railing again.
This time I knew exactly who it was.
Sure enough, it was him! I'm going to go get him now and give him the punishment he deserves! I wanted to rush towards the jungle, but was suddenly held into a warm embrace.
I could barely contain myself anymore. Even though I was in Elijah's arms right now, I felt like I couldn't breathe.
"Our baby! What should he do?" I muttered under my breath.
He was so young, barely able to survive on his own. And what was I supposed to do if he had an accident at the hands of those people?
"Now we still need to think carefully about this." Elijah was in the middle of the crowd, looking at me with a guilty expression.
Thinking is not going to solve the problem, we can only go and save him. Immediately, now!
"You can't give up on him!" I could barely hear what they were saying at all.
I would not allow anyone to treat my child that way, even if he was my MATE!
"You can't go over there! It's really too dangerous!"
I threw back my hands impatiently. But then I heard a muffled grunt. I turned my head to look at Elijah, whose face was obviously red from the blow I had just given him, but even so, he still looked at me with a swollen half-face for good measure. But that's it, from his mate link still passed over the settled emotions.
"No, I'm sorry ......" I covered half of my face, not even daring to look at him.
"Isabella, I'm not going to give up on him, but this needs to be calm."
I guess my punch was just too hard. He grunts lightly with a frown, but still seems to be trying to keep me out of his way as much as possible.
"There are already enough fighters out there looking for those lost children. So at this point, we're going to stay and place this." He said to me gently.
I understood what he meant, because there is a strong bond between a child and his parents, so it was all the more important for Elijah and I to organize these mothers here to carry messages for the warriors out there.
This role will be bigger than our fists.
But even so, I still hate to go over there myself. To smash the heads of the people who took my children.
"Okay, Elijah. i'll get back to work." I sighed and stepped behind him. He tugged on my arm and gave it a firm grip.
But I didn't have the strength to talk to him anymore. I didn't want him to comfort me because it would drain his energy.
Those who had lost their children were standing in front of me. At my request, one person from each family was left behind to come to me.
"I I understand how everyone is feeling right now, but finding the child is the most important thing." I said as I kept busy. I bent the strips of wood in my hands into the shape of a circle and tied them with pretty feathers.
"I think everyone should know that I am a wizard, so I have my ways. It's more efficient that way."
"What is this?" Those people looked at the net in front of them in surprise.
It was a dreamcatcher net, but I thought maybe it was a little too big, and that's what surprised them so much.
But if I want to achieve the effect I need, it can actually only look like this.
"Don't worry about the exact name of it, it's just that it will better enable you to contact your children." I said as calmly as I could.
I didn't hold the expectation that they would definitely accept my method, but I still hoped that they would follow my approach and continue.
"I need to collect dreams from all of you and use this to determine a direction. The warriors are already looking in possible directions, but we need to give them more precise guidance all the same." I grabbed it and shook it to make sure I had it tied down.
"Now we need everyone to enter the dream state while thinking of their children. If that's not possible, consider a little calming soup." I gestured to the pot in front of me.
What was in there was the herb Oliver had helped to boil, and it was pitch black while bubbles rolled over it. It was like pitch.
I saw a lot of people backing up, they were simply too afraid to drink this. But soon they had to back up again. Because in such an anxious situation is simply impossible to fall asleep.
I also scooped up a bowl and poured it down my nose. I hope my child can give me a direction soon, I really hope to find him soon.
