Chapter 49

Isabella's pov.
I looked up. Several people on the stage came together, looking like they had something important to say.
"Are you guys ready for your lines? You guys are going to be standing next to Alex in a minute." Jessica raised her hand boldly.
"What?" Elijah and I looked at him in surprise.
We didn't expect this at all. Originally, we wanted to go through this session empty because we didn't want to force them to think of us as their Alpha and Luna.
"Don't you guys want to go up and speak as Luna and Alpha?" Jessica's father was standing at a distance, looking at us both with great surprise.
"That's pretty rare."
"No, it's not that. I just don't think it's appropriate ......" I almost bit my tongue.
How dare I force them to think of me as luna! After all, I was in that awkward position before!
"You certainly can." That elder said. "After all, you are our Alpha and Luna. That I will certainly acknowledge. Come on up."
If it was in the past, he would never have said that. I'd really like to know what exactly changed his opinion.
"No, I don't mean to force you to agree with both of us, I think it's better for you to think carefully about this matter, after all, you are in a special position." Elijah stepped in front of me.
We all know that Jessica's father represents the will of the people of White Birch Pack. His decisions are just too important.
But to my surprise, he still just shook his head and respectfully invited us both up from the stool.
"I've been thinking a lot about this now for a while. Not just because of what you did for my daughter, but the fact that you genuinely saw the White Birch Pack people as your own dimension, which couldn't have happened in any of those situations."
He explained.
Whether it's going out with me to pick mushrooms or staying here to put together a wreath. From hostility at the beginning to treating them as ordinary members later on, there is always a moment when they forget where they are.
"They wouldn't treat my daughter the way you did. You were able to do a good job and I thank you for my daughter." He said sincerely.
This is great! Looks like I've gained their hearts!
"What about those elders?" I asked, puzzled.
I'm not talking about the elders of the wolves, but those who originally White Birch Pack called themselves elders. Those people just want to follow Liam and continue to live their kind of lord-like life, not the mundane life they have now.
Jessica's father just grunted.
"If they aren't able to give my daughter's blessing then I guess we don't have to consider their opinion do we?"
Elijah's pov.
I know that White Birch Pack must have a lot of people who refused to come to this girl's wedding. Because in their eyes, this is a major failure.
At the very least, that's what the doctor told me.
"In their eyes White Birch Pack life is the best, and everything we have here seems like a conspiracy." The doctor explained to both of us.
"But Jessica's father is really thinking too roughly, too. We can't do that because we are expected to follow all the rules."
"I can understand this point. After all, at the very beginning I couldn't think that all of you were treating me with sincerity. But in that case ......" Isabella frowned.
That being the case, we certainly can't simply continue to do that either. We still have to make our defenses.
I understand what Isabella means by this.
"Those that really have very deep sins and refuse to continue to live well with us, I guess eventually they will have to be expelled, there's just no way around it." I looked worriedly at Isabella.
"I see, I didn't mean to say that there was nothing I could do to save them, I could only save as many as I could." Isabella nodded gently.
My concern before this was that she might take exception to this view of mine. But now it seems that it should not.
"Until then, let's be happy with this wedding. They both deserve everything good." Isabella bowed her head.
I wanted to say you too, but the moment I locked eyes with her, I couldn't say a word. I just patted her on the shoulder and covered her with a coat.
Isabella's pov.
Alex was standing a short distance in front of me diagonally. His back was to me, but I could see his arms were trembling.
"Come on! , Alex," I shouted along with the people around me.
The feeling is indescribable. It was as if he was my brother or junior, and I watched him go on to his own happiness.
I couldn't help but think of my own child in this way. Will he be the same way in the future by me standing on this side and watching him walk to the woman on the other side? This feeling is so wonderful that I think we will definitely live happily ever after.
Jessica was slowly walking forward with the help of her father. She was so beautiful, her blonde hair was like jewels and gold in the sunlight, it was the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. And at the sound of screaming Alex turned back.
Immediately afterwards, these two embraced passionately, even forgetting to throw the bouquet out.
"I knew it. It's a good thing we're done speaking, or this whole process would be ruined." I drank a glass of wine with some bitterness.
That's why partners of this period shouldn't have a wedding at all! They look practically glued to each other.
"Indeed. I don't think they'll be coming to dance with us, after all, they're going to be busy tonight." Elijah's expression was very playful. I couldn't help but blush.
Normally it would have been the newcomers leading the dance tonight, but if they didn't come out today, we didn't think it would be a big deal. After all, Elijah and I will stay here and continue to keep all the order in the place.
But just then, a man in uniform crowded up to us.
"What's wrong? Why do you look so flustered? Did the one in jail do something understandable again?" I asked him with a smile on my face.
That guard shook his head frantically, followed by his expression looking all a bit twisted.
"No, there are people who shouldn't be here, who somehow actually came to the border, and if we go any further, it's like declaring war with us."
At a time like this, it's hard not to suspect that they're out to disturb the rare peace we've formed with the White Birch Pack.
Who the hell are those people?
"Tell the doctor to settle down everyone who is left." I explained at the guard, then continued to hide in the crowd.
I will continue to wait here for a few minutes while Elijah will go ahead and assemble the guards at the border. This would maintain the balance to the greatest extent possible. The companion link between us then becomes the best messenger.
"How's it going over there?" I asked him, while running over myself. But unfortunately I didn't get any answer.
By the time I arrived, Elijah was already standing there waiting for me with a group of attendants, and their expressions looked very serious. Many of them were still wearing the formal attire they would wear to a party, and all of them were very nervous. After all, we all know that if we are called out at such a moment, it must be a very major accident.
Who else would influence the people who are attending the wedding?
There were three or five figures standing at the edge of our territory, and they just looked at us without the slightest intention of advancing or retreating.
This is just a teaser before the start of a certain war.
"What Pack are you guys from?" I think I really asked a particularly stupid question, and the one at the head of them even just laughed out loud.
The way he looked at me was particularly familiar.
"There are some things you have not yet accomplished, and what you owe us you will always have to pay."
The man took another step forward. This time I saw the tattoo on his body, a tattoo so rare that having seen him just once, I couldn't forget it.
These people I recognize, they are the men of those elders! They are the ones who don't take us seriously and even want me to go to those elders to make up for it.
When those elders were driven out before, they must not have gotten any benefit, and now they are afraid that they have also become the so-called rogues, and they wander here in groups, and they must be thinking of taking back the territory.
We dare not think further, this matter is too important, if not handled properly, then we are afraid that we will not have a safe day in the future.
They should know that we are now at this stage, there is no way to carry out any too significant strikes against them. Otherwise it would not be possible for only one or two people to come.
"We officially declare war on you, wait until 5 days and if you are okay with it, we will take over your Pack."
It's a euphemism for a duel to the death that we're going to have in 5 days. Immediately after that they turned into wolves and ran away, disappearing into the night.
"Why didn't you guys just kill them?" I heard someone ask. The crowd was visibly agitated.
"If we don't let them leave this thing won't get anywhere, and they might even declare war on us early because these people are gone." I cleared my throat and tried to sound a little more authoritative.
"The only way now is to accept it and win when it comes down to it, they are nothing but a bunch of losers without a Pack, we will surely succeed."
Elijah stopped talking. I felt the sadness coming from him, but I wanted it to be the two of us together, I didn't want him to just feel sad about it alone.
Elijah's pov.
We held an emergency meeting.
"This is just a provocation, they will come back in five days. We must take the initiative in that time." I stood up and tapped on the table.
If we can't beat them at that point, then I'm afraid we'll lose everything we have here. I can't even think about the consequences of that.
"Some warriors will follow James with the sick and the children to the wizard's domain where you will be sheltered." Isabella read the arrangement we had just discussed.
She paused briefly and looked at me again.
"Within these few days, I will conduct a training session for all the warriors. I hope everyone will come at that time." I caught her words.
