Chapter 52

Isabella's POV.
"Those are the warriors going to the wizard colony!" I heard Jessica's hiss.
"They're coming!"
I heard the kind of wolf howl they had their own unique style. It was indeed them, and it was even almost the full complement of those willing to live with us now.
"It's them! But why are they coming for us?" I heard someone mutter.
"Don't worry, trust them." I turned around firmly and faced those Rogue.
Although it did seem that way, weren't they supposed to have taken the little children to the wizard's domain?
Goodness, did they choose to defect to those people now? No, if they decided to, then this must have happened before. Who had sent them the message?
My mind could barely function. I had thought that I might be betrayed, but I definitely hadn't thought that this was the case.
But no matter what, if they try to come at us, then we're screwed!
"Trust them, trust them." Mia reminded in my head.
"Believe what you just said yourself, it wasn't a joke to comfort your own subordinates. They wouldn't do that ......"
But would they really not? The look on their faces now, it was clear that wasn't the case anymore.
Elijah shielded me behind him. He looked at the men firmly. But it could actually be interpreted as a friendly gesture.
They did not stop in front of us, but rushed all the way towards those elders' men.
Both we and those people were already tired enough, so their joining almost directly changed the battle.
Those men wailed and were pinned right underneath them. The one in the lead had his front legs almost trampled directly.
The scene was even more chaotic than before. I don't know who was biting my ear, or whose tail was being stepped on by me.
I only knew that all of these in front of me were not members of our wolf pack. They were the ones who should be driven away.
Almost within minutes, the battle was over.
It was so amazing!
"Don't worry luna, we're here to fight them off. After all, this is our homeland, our Pack is in trouble, we can't just stand at a distance and watch." The one closest to me shouted at me.
He should have wanted to laugh, but in his wolf state he could only bare his teeth. It wasn't really much to look at, but it thoroughly amused me.
Yes, we all belonged to the same Pack, so how could they leave us alone.
One or two people called up Jessica's name and she got out of the crowd.
Her father walked up to her in a rough coat and even looked at her with some anger.
I didn't understand what this was about, but I knew it was better not to say anything at this time. Her father had never been a particularly reasonable man.
"luna, this is your fault. Why didn't you tell us?" The man from earlier looked at me with some sadness. With him leading the way, the people around us also clamored together.
"Yes, you should have told us the truth, we even thought it was just an ordinary migration event, if Jessica hadn't told us ......"
"Yes, but if I told you guys, would you follow me?" Jessica's father angrily scolded the men.
"Our mission is to escort those children to the wizard's territory, and all we have to do is obey!"
Jessica's father was far greater than we could have imagined.
It finally dawned, and I collapsed into a ball on the ground, I no longer had the strength to get up. elijah was not far from me, and I watched as he was carried onto a stretcher, and I finally closed my eyes.
"Isabella!" I heard him call my name, and I struggled to open my eyes.
"It's from excessive mental attrition, but it shouldn't be a problem now."
But I knew that this was not really over until now, and that no one would invade us again from today on.
At the end I just felt someone holding my hand. I couldn't tell who he was, but I sensed from the familiar smell emanating from it that it had to be Elijah.
"Elijah?" I called his name and shook it back hard.
"Get a good night's sleep, and when you wake up it will all be over." I heard him say this to me.
But his chest was shaking as he said it, even as the blood was flowing out of his arms. It was as if I would lose him.
But he didn't really have any life-threatening problems. I could feel it. That relieved me.
"You look so ugly." I muttered softly.
He looked at me and wiped his face. It made him look even dirtier.
"I'll get up and clean it up." He reached out and gently stroked my cheek. I felt all my hurt lessen because of it.
But before I could say anything, my eyelids wouldn't work anymore.
I slowly opened my eyes. Maria's trademark curly hair was floating in front of my eyes.
"You're finally awake, luna. your baby has been crying and wanting to see you for days." I heard Maria say. I tilted my head and saw her applying medicine to my arm.
"I want to see him." I lifted my hand.
My baby, he was sitting in the stroller, blinking at me.
He must be so worried. A sudden wave of guilt welled up inside me, but he was still too young, and I didn't think he could understand that I had gone and done something. He tugged at my hand and mouthed a few words in a vague way.
"Mommy, I'm ......"
"I'm home, sweetie. I'm coming back to you."
I still had a syringe in my arm, so I wasn't able to hug him. But my touch has eased his emotions a lot.
While it's true that a lot of people were injured, no one was fatally injured as a result. But those Rogue on the other side were not so optimistic.
After this one incident, their lives are a little more difficult than ever. Even just now a message came from the Pack next to them, indicating that they had just driven one of them away.
"So we should be just leaving this threat alone." Elijah explained to me.
But would it really be that easy? I didn't really think so. As long as they were alive, then they would pose a danger. They would never give up.
Those people are the best at this.
Even though I was recuperating, I had to be ready for this.
A week later, I was finally almost well enough. I was able to hang out around the medical office.
The soldiers of the White Birch Pack were standing in the square, about to receive the greatest honor in the Pack. Even as I stood inside the building, I could hear the cheers from their side.
Although everyone identified with my luna status, after all, there was no official coronation ceremony yet, and I didn't want to cause trouble for everyone. So this ball I think I'd better not participate in better.
I turned around and went into the area where the cell was located.
Wait a minute, where are the people who used to live here?
I looked at the room that was completely empty with shock. The imprints left on the walls by the incense containing drugs were even still there.
This proves that he didn't actually leave for a particularly long time, and it's even possible that he's still around.
"luna?" Maria poked her head in. She was in charge of security these days, and this one was known.
"You guys got rid of him?" I looked at her in surprise.
No one informed me of this incident!
"That's the rule, luna. we can't break it." Maria stood beside me. There was an obvious apology in her expression.
"We don't need to notify luna or alpha when he causes harm."
Yeah, that's really the rule. He was close to recovery, then he was just supposed to go. Who told him to do that kind of thing to his Pack members.
But I know, that's a world of trouble. If he gets together with the people who got kicked out ......
That would be awful!
He's been living with Alex for so long, he must be very familiar with our defense system. This will have extremely serious consequences.
"Elijah, do you know about this?" I asked him in matelink. I hoped he would get back to me soon.
"What? I don't know yet. Hold on, we're going to have an emergency meeting for this."
Everyone in the Pack assembled with a speed I had never seen before. They stayed in the conference room, every one of them looking at Maria and me.
I don't know about her, but she must have been very nervous.
"It's not your fault." I looked over at her.
Even if it were me, I'm afraid I would have used the same treatment as she did, it was a result of no choice.
"That means that the defense system inside the Pack should be rearranged." Elijah's expression became serious.
"I don't think it should be up to the two of us to set it up. oliver, you do it. They don't know you. What you're doing will certainly surprise them." I looked to Oliver.
If we had a new arming pattern, then surely we could counteract the bad effects of this incident.
"But anyway ...... we need to find them as soon as possible." I was getting a little desperate.
The longer it takes, the more likely it is that something will go wrong.
"It's not necessary to find them." Jessica stood in front of me, her expression counting as a little crazy.
"He'll be back for sure, because the people he hates are still here."
"Yes, of course I know that. But I can't let you guys risk your lives for this." I looked over at Jessica.
Of course I knew that the man could indeed come back here in order to kill them, but she would never be allowed to use herself as some kind of "bait".
"alpha, luna?" there was a sudden knock on the door of the conference room. Immediately afterwards, a man, obviously dressed as a guard, poked his head in. His expression looked very frightened.
"That Spider Hand, he ...... he's back! However, he is a bit strange."
How strange can it be?
"I'll be there, and if anything happens, I'll let you know." I grabbed Elijah's arm.
"No, I should be the one to ...... this thing."
I shook my head and rejected him. I had at least prepared some medication for the man, but he had done nothing.
He understood what I meant and stopped stopping me. I got up and followed that guard to the edge of the territory with a group of warriors.
"This is really unusual, usually members who are driven away rarely return to their former Pack," Mia spat inside my head.
"Unless he ate something wrong that caused his brain to go bad."
"No, it's also possible that he found a way to deal with us." I sighed.
Anyway, it's never a wrong thing to make preparations for this.
A strong figure was standing there, like Liam or some other warrior. If the others hadn't told me who he was, I wouldn't have been able to imagine it was him at all.
