Chapter 29

Isabella's POV.
"We both got into a fight, Liam got hurt a little worse, and he ended up running away." Elijah was clearly lost in thought.
I answered, this thing always gives me a bad feeling.
Liam might have come back with a broken tail like a gecko, if he hadn't died instantly. I don't know if Elijah thought of that.
"Let's not talk about that. Are you ready to return to your domain? My queen."
"Of course." I looked at Elijah, who was half-kneeling in front of me, and gently placed my hand on his.
The girl still had her head hanging. I don't know what she was thinking, but the moment she raised her head, I saw a little look of envy.
"It's the Alpha and Luna!"
"Oh my God, the Alpha did it, he got her back!"
The children who were playing at the edge of the territory saw the two of us and ran with excitement.
By the time we got back to our place, Oliver and some other people came out to greet us. Looking at their familiar faces, I let out a long sigh.
"I told you, he'd get her back." Oliver laughed and shook his head.
"Don't look at me like that, I don't know anything, I just know that you love each other enough. Death and disappearance are completely different in a mate link, but that's all I could do to preserve him as much as possible in that situation." Oliver explained at me.
"No need to apologize to me, Oliver. i understand what you mean." I turned my head and pushed the girl who was cowering behind me, timidly, forward.
"This is something I met on the road. I don't know how badly she's hurt, and I'm hoping to arrange a place for her to stay here."
"Also, she needs a female doctor." I thought about it and added to him.
No matter what, the Green Creek Pack is always going to survive. So he's very right to do so.
"Maria rearranged your room for you. Oh, but now I'm afraid I'll need to change one arrangement again." He looked over to the small basket we had brought with us and smiled mysteriously.
Pack is still the same as before I left, except that Alex is followed by a little boy running around.
It was the little kid who took me to the cooler that one time.
I hadn't been gone particularly long, but he had obviously changed his hair and had changed his clothes again. This made him look at the very least 4 years older than before.
He looked at me and scratched his head in embarrassment.
"Luna, how are you?" He greeted me.
"I'm also a man with a follower, I won't be as cowardly as before!"
"Good." I said to him with a smile. "You're both going to be amazing warriors."
"You're back at last, my Luna, my Isabella," Maria rushed to me and took me in her arms.
She was taller than me and this passionate hug almost suffocated me. I tried to snatch myself out of her chest, but she hugged me even tighter.
"You don't know how much I missed you while you were away ...... Wait a minute, this?" She poked her head out, her eyes full of curiosity.
The small child contained inside the basket was smiling happily at her.
"A little one for me." I laughed.
"He looks so cute. What does he eat, meat?"
"Milk, just drink milk. But also need this." I took out a milk bottle.
"And use this in order to get the milk down."
Her expression turned into complete surprise. This woman warrior, who had a lot of experience in war, was completely overwhelmed by my child.
"He'll be our future heir, won't he?" Maria continued to poke my child in the face. "I'm going to teach him everything I've learned."
"Of course. But may I entrust him to you for the time being? I have some people to meet." I explained to her carefully.
"Go ahead, honey! I'll take good care of him!"
I looked at the two men with concern, but had to leave my room.
"I'm back." I pushed open the door to the infirmary.
Joanna didn't look much different from before. She was still as stoic as ever, and she looked at me as if I were his own daughter.
I do consider her as my elder too. So I went up to her and hugged her tightly.
"I made you worry, but this time I really came back in one piece." I whispered to her.
She couldn't say anything more as she hugged me.
After some tests, she confirmed that there was nothing particularly wrong with my health. However, at her insistence, I took her to see my children.
"Is this your child? He looks like he's a little small." Joanna gestured.
"A normal newborn wouldn't be this small, but he's healthy."
"It's a premature baby. It was raised properly in the wizard's tribe until now, so there's really nothing wrong with it." I answered her patiently.
She looked at me, and I read a lot of emotions in that expression.
I knew that she must have noticed a slight problem in my relationship with Elijah, but I just looked at her.
"If there's nothing wrong with it now, that's good too." She eventually sighed.
"Even though he's our Alpha, I don't want him to be mandatory to get you to do anything."
What's not quite right? There seems to be a little misunderstanding in between.
"It's not like that, we're fine."
I told him in detail what had happened to me before. Her eyes were as round as the moon at night, and then she once again, held me tightly in her arms.
"My poor boy. It's all in the past. Be sure to tell me if anything is uncomfortable."
"How are you guys? I'm back." Maria poked her head in through the door and I saw her holding a pile of jerky and candy. I hadn't even noticed earlier that she had slipped out at some point.
"I know the baby can't eat it yet, but these are for you." She shook her hand at me. "They're for you from the kids in the Pack. They've missed you."
I thought about all those times I spent playing with these kids. And how I didn't want them, but I stayed there to make their lives better.
So, there are some things we still have to do.
Soon, the Pack held an emergency meeting. The matter of vampire bats was quickly brought to the forefront. As the best female warrior here, Maria had to set out on a journey to leave the day after I returned to the Pack.
Despite my worries, I still can't change this decision.
"This thing has a witch's blessing on it." I handed her the little doll made of herbs.
"And these silver bullets. If you come across them, stab these into its heart. This way is very effective."
"Thank you, Luna," she said, wiping her tears.
"I try not to look worried, but the truth is, there's no way I can control my emotions."
I understand exactly what she is thinking right now.
For wolves, these things are just too foreign.
I looked at Maria's departing back and couldn't help but worry a little.
Now this matter of blood-sucking bats has become so serious. If she ends up getting hurt because of this, what should I do?
"Liam's here! And with a group of elders!"
Why did he come back?
I thought of all the horrible things I had experienced in the past. My expression could no longer maintain the previous calm. What was left of my sanity manipulated me not to run up to him and punch him in the face.
Elijah's POV.
Isabella was quite unstable and I could clearly sense her concern from the partner link.
But what's going on with Liam?
I recalled it carefully. At that time, he was only seriously injured, if someone helped, then he could indeed escape.
It seems that I did it wrong. As an alpha, I shouldn't have been so negligent.
"Come on, let's go and take a look. If it's those elders coming here, we can't run away." I reassured her and turned around to walk toward the edge of the territory.
Because of those elders, we had no way to keep them at the edge of the territory. So I also had to personally go up and greet them into our Pack's council chamber.
Liam still looks as annoying as ever, and now there's another emotion in his eyes.
He is now very resentful of us.
"It's been a long time, alpha of the Green Creek Pack," he said, almost gritting his mouthful of teeth.
"Why did you come here?" I held Isabella behind me.
Those elders looked at me, and their expressions were not exactly friendly. I had a bad feeling in my heart.
"I came back to find a justice." Liam pointed at me with a rather angry expression. Immediately afterwards he raised his voice.
"You have invaded my Pack, can't you let me say a word for myself? That would be too unfair!"
Isabella's POV.
How did it become mine and Elijah's when it was clearly his fault?
"Stay calm, at times like this if you get into chaos then they win outright." Mia reminded in my mind.
"I understand, I understand." I was a little impatient.
But I knew that the matter was indeed as he had said, and if I were to get into confusion, then indeed they would get the jump on me.
If they take me away is not the most serious thing, the most serious thing is that the whole Green Creek Pack is implicated.
Once this Pack falls into the hands of the White Birch Pack people, I can't even imagine what kind of life we'll have.
I forced myself to control my emotions and continued to watch them.
"How dare this devil come over here ......"
"Can he treat his Pack like that and actually utter such an accusation?"
The attitude of the Green Creek Pack people has been very clear. But neither Liam nor those elders have been affected at all.
"If you did encroach on their Pack, then this is indeed a matter for you to take responsibility for." The elders looked at Elijah.
"In fact, we didn't invade them. We did it for a reason." Elijah looked firmly at the elders.
