Chapter 48
Isabella's pov.
"How did it turn out? Any progress since I left?" I looked at Elijah and Alex walking in the distance. from the link I could sense a hint of chagrin in Elijah's heart, and it seemed that even Alex's invitation hadn't made any difference.
Jessica was there, but as a rule, she couldn't get too close as a victim of this incident. But I think the companion link is just enough for her to understand what's happening over here.
I don't know what's really going on inside each other's heads, but at least I think we did what we could.
If he still has such strong animosity towards the people of White Birch Pack, then in the end we will have to choose to let him live away from those people. It's better for everyone.
"Have you guys talked about these things before?" I looked over at Alex. he had that weird look on his face, his whole body was practically glued to Jessica.
"No, we've never talked about those topics. Because I hadn't considered actually living with them before."
"And yes, before we all thought there was absolutely no way the White Birch Pack people would change their opinions." I agreed. After all, I also thought before this that I would never meet a member of the White Birch Pack.
"But you also have to be prepared. I'm afraid it will be difficult for him to return to his normal life after something like this."
I hope he will understand that his good brother is not destined to continue to survive in this Pack as he did before.
He hung his head and sat down on the bench alone.
"Are you guys still talking about that?" Elijah came up to me and handed me a cup of coffee.
"Of course, I don't think Alex gives up that easily. For him that person is just too meaningful." I whispered.
Alex was also sad during the time I wasn't here, and I think he still cares a lot about the camaraderie.
"Can we go see Jessica now? I haven't seen her in a long time." Alex suddenly looked up at us.
You just haven't been close for a few days!
"Don't be like that, honey. You and Elijah were separated just a few hours ago and you feel like you're going to die." Mia's laughter almost made my ears ring.
It made too much sense. I looked at Alex with a sudden sympathy in my eyes.
"No. As a rule you won't see him until the day after tomorrow, but this few days you can ......" I put my hand to the side of my face in a phone gesture.
"You are absolutely not allowed to show up at the dress fitting this afternoon."
The fact that they can communicate through a partner connection is the most convenient part of becoming a partner.
"Well ...... but thank you luna. if it wasn't for you, I'm afraid I would have had a hard time meeting her." He reddened his face.
"Thank yourself likewise, Alex. she was perfectly capable of turning you down if you weren't good enough, and you know what, she's the child of one of the White Birch Pack's several veterans."
Alex's eyes widened.
He was totally stunned!
"I would say that you shouldn't feel that you don't deserve her. She recognizes you for what you are." Elijah was beside himself with conformity.
Alex didn't seem to be listening to what we had to say. He stood up and ran out frantically like a gust of wind.
Elijah's pov.
"This dress matches you perfectly."
I looked at myself in the mirror. The dress did make me look taller, a combination of what they call "elegance and strength".
But I didn't care about that. I just thought that it would be better if I had Isabella by my side. And that brings us to another topic.
We didn't have a coronation ceremony for luna because of all the previous stuff. But I thought I should consult her whether she wanted it or not.
"alpha, what you want we have already prepared for you." A girl interrupted me. She slipped me a small box.
"Thank you very much."
This is something I should have given her a long time ago. But for various reasons I'm just now getting it. I hope it's not too late.
"This dress is really beautiful ......"
I looked at the sound and saw her.
Her eyes matched the pendant around her neck, both the same shade of amber. The ample light softens the edges of her face, but it does not diminish the smooth lines of the muscles in her arms.
She is so perfect, like a real moon goddess. Anyone standing next to her would lose their color.
The lace on that dress matched my tie perfectly. I think it was originally supposed to be part of our coronation ceremony. But unfortunately, so many things came up. It made those dreams not get fulfilled at all.
"Do I have to wear this dress too?" She inclined her head and looked at the girl beside her. I think this is the real her, that action just now was too deliberate.
That high heel is really some gorgeous to exaggerate, but I think it really sets her off. I stood at a distance with a soft coughing sound, those girls saw me panic backwards. I made a gesture to show them not to be that nervous.
"Yes, it's a courtesy." I held out my hand.
"Take me by the arm and let's walk together. If you're worried about falling over, I'm here."
Isabella's pov.
These shoes have taken almost all the security out of me. The heel is just too high, I've never worn one that high. I think at least half of my weight was on the arm that I was supporting Elijah on.
But both he and the people next to me, they all cast encouraging glances at me, and yes, I shouldn't be nervous. This thing wasn't that hard. But I couldn't help but snap Elijah's arm harder.
"Would you want a coronation ceremony?" He inquired in the companion link, while grabbing my hand.
I felt something hard being placed on my finger. I lowered my head and saw a ring.
"It's really beautiful." I sighed from the bottom of my heart.
The ring looks very simple, but actually has a lot of content. It has the moon drawn on it that shape is almost completely hollowed out, and the blue stone is more like the piece of sky behind the moon.
But a coronation is too mind-consuming and can have many different consequences.
"I don't know. It's not a good time to hold a coronation because we haven't dealt with all the threats yet." I answered him sincerely.
I was scared.
I was afraid to stand in front of the White Birch Pack people. I was afraid of them knowing everything that I used to have and not have. Even now, I have no way to face them with a normal mind.
"Don't worry, it will pass."
Elijah held my hand, once again.
His hands were warmer and I felt that even from him, I felt strength.
I don't have to worry about it. It's all going to be okay indeed. I should be convinced of that.
"But will we be dressed too flamboyantly? This is Jessica's and their wedding, after all." I looked down at the shiny bracelet on my arm. The gemstones on it were even bigger than any gift Jessica had received.
"Not at all Luna, you are not seeing his clothes ......" the girl next to me reminded me in a whisper. She pointed in a direction and gestured for me to look over with her hand.
"Yours is a simple, couldn't-be-simpler set of regular clothes compared to hers."
I looked away and Jessica was standing there, even on a platform because her skirt was too big. She was wearing an even more exaggerated wide skirt than I was, which made her look like a princess.
Of course she is indeed the princess of the White Birch Pack. There could hardly be a more honored little girl there than she is.
She saw me and her eyes filled with gratitude. She walked over slowly, like a graceful jellyfish. The two of us were no longer able to get too close as we had been before, these skirts getting in the way.
"Thank you, Isabella," she said, looking at me genuinely and rushing to curtsy.
"I you know, if I hadn't come here, I'm afraid my days would have been ......"
I'm sure we're all in agreement now, with our minds on that particularly unreliable alpha Liam from the Pack we used to belong to. who knows what he'll suddenly think of again. If he's here, will he ask Jessica to do something for him again?
Although he has been expelled for a long time, but the kind of big shadow he has created in our hearts, not such a small period of time can be removed.
"Don't worry about that, Jessica. you'll never have to worry. I'm right here, and with me, you'll always be the one who can pursue your own happiness."
After trying on the dress, we changed out of it. The next rehearsal was very important, but the mystery of the dress needed to be maintained.
It was as if Jessica and Alex had never seen each other before, and once they met, they clung together like two magnets.
"Are we going to be like this in the beginning?" I leaned into Elijah's arms, full of unbelief.
"Or even worse." He wrapped his arms around me and helped me with my notebook. I had recorded all the processes I had devised in this.
"Okay, now let's go ahead and check the flow, first of all it starts with ......" I cleared my throat and tried to draw those two people's attention back to me.
Soon they were in their element, taking their positions according to a pre-designed flow. Elijah and I sat in the chairs closest to the stage and watched it all in silence.
Now, after all, it is a rehearsal, and most of the equipment has not been fully installed. The two of us are sitting in a particularly abrupt position. But we don't care. As long as this rehearsal results in line with expectations on the line.
Of course, more importantly, we are sitting here to give them a gift.
This was the most compromise I could think of. It didn't tell everyone that we were the chiefs here, but it was still necessary to show our status as landlords. I held the temporary gift basket of flowers in my arms and continued to look at the timetable I had designed.
"...... The next session should be the elders of their respective families. But Alex is parentless. So I left this piece of time blank." I turned my head to Elijah and explained. But at that moment, I heard "luna" and "alpha" being shouted from the stage.
