Chapter 54

Isabella's POV:
The light was dim in front of me, and it took me a little while to fully adjust to it. It looked like a cave, and there must be some distance from the entrance.
Otherwise the light is sure to shine through.
There were cliffs in front of me, but the color of the rocks looked particularly strange. I continued to walk forward. There were many things like mushrooms on the ground here, but there were many people carrying those mushrooms back and forth.
This thing seems to make no sense, and even a little confusing. But this is a dream after all, everything that does not make sense has its own meaning.
I walked forward and tried to see what those mushrooms were.
"Mom." Someone was calling me, and I followed the source of the voice. It was the end of the cave with the very unusual black rocks and the dried up river.
"It's cold." The childish voice continued.
"Mom, come to me, quick."
My eyes snapped open.
This information was enough. Because stones of that color were especially rare, I had even memorized a map of their distribution when I was in the wizard tribe.
I jumped up so violently that I almost touched the empty bowl in my hand. This almost scared Maria who was standing next to me.
"Did you see something?" Mia inquired in my mind.
"You were so excited and seemed completely deaf to what I was saying."
I repeated that scene to Mia and Maria in front of me. that coldness is still something I feel to this day, and I can't ignore it. If that was true, then my child was just too miserable.
"This is a message from him to you." Mia's voice was clearly a bit surprised.
"A child of this age would not normally pass on such complete words to you, but he did it. That kind of willpower is something few people can do, I'm afraid."
I knew what this meant, it meant he would be good. Maybe he's the one who can take this Pack and make it more successful in the future.
But that's not what I want to think about now, I just want to know where he is now.
"Okay, I'll put this on the record. But, luna. you said this is not too far from what the others said, I think there must be a key message in it."
I turned around. I saw that the others were waking up one by one, and they were all looking at me, some of them even had tears in their eyes.
"What are those images? It looks like it's too dangerous!"
"What's that, it's cold!"
"That's your children's 's POV, all you see is what's inside their eyes." I pointed to my own eyes.
"Of course, it's also possible to hear what they're saying."
Kids that age usually can't use links yet, so what's in those 's POVs will seem like dreams.
"Only saw a little snippet, but I think it was with the head facing the rock wall. My kids can't sit down yet." Another woman said, somewhat apologetically.
"Is this information of no use?"
"No, not at all." I reassured her. "We know he's safe, and that's enough. Next we should think of ways to bring them back."
I summarized the scenes we'd seen. One of the ladies was good at sketching, and she gave a picture of what we saw.
It was a deep cave, but halfway up a mountain. The cliff there makes a strange sound when you jump on it, like a hollow drum surface. And beyond that, there were objects there that looked like giant mushrooms.
But these objects can be moved by people, then it can also be assumed that the back is only moved over. These things were excluded from my consideration.
"So, do you guys have any impressions about a place like this?" I turned to look at them.
Those people wouldn't have gone too far, otherwise it was bound to be a problem. After all, they were a group of hooligans, and no matter which nearby Pack they passed through, they would definitely not let go.
So, the probability of those people appearing is around here. With so many Green Creek Pack people, there are always one or two who will have been in that area.
But sadly, almost every single one of them was shaking their heads.
"I'm sorry, luna. we haven't seen any place like that."
I got a little desperate, and I clutched my head helplessly.
"I do have a slight impression of that kind of place. It must have been a cave that wasn't too high up, or there certainly wouldn't have been water flowing through it." Elijah passed behind me. He frowned at the picture in front of me.
"But it's safe to assume there wouldn't be too many caves like that around here."
He drew down a dot on the map for me.
"I think it must be this way. It's actually a bit far away, but that direction is so dangerous that almost no one would choose to live there."
There were dead volcanoes in that direction, and not many plants could grow on the ground. Plus they were up high, and we were indeed a little more dangerous.
But I soon had an even more dangerous thought. If they had chosen to go there, did it also mean that they wanted to settle in a piece of land like that?
It was like a trap. But there was no reason for me not to go. Because there are so many children there, we can't leave them behind.
"I will take a group of people there, this is not negotiable." I looked at Elijah. I looked at Elijah, and I was worried he was going to say something like, "Let me go," but he just looked at me and put a smaller map in my hand.
Elijah's POV.
"You should have kept her." Wolf lamented in my head.
"Yes, but I think that would be a cruelty instead. I'll go along with her, it's a lot better than just stopping her." I answered it.
I know that I can't stop Isabella from doing something she wants to do. What I should do more as a partner is to be a good backstop for her, not just stop it.
And I would choose a different path than she did to find information she might have missed.
"Well, you should be a bit closer then. Is her group all about to take the house out already?"
"I'll take the left one." Isabella's voice rang out over the companion link.
"I guess you guys should be leaving soon, right?"
Sure enough, no one knows me better than she does.
"I'll go right." I replied.
After a short break we set out on our journey to that one cave. There were few creatures other than us on the road, but on both sides of the road, I could faintly see a footprint.
I called a halt to the small group I belonged to and studied it carefully.
"But wouldn't it be easier to escape by taking the form of a wolf?" I heard someone in the group ask.
"They have a load, and it's something important. I guess it's likely to be those kids." I replied. I repeated this to Isabella in the companion link, but she didn't even answer.
"We need to be quicker." I shouted towards behind me.
She must have run straight past herself!
I don't think Liam or the Spider Hand will have too many followers now, but it's never too late to be careful.
"alpha, is that luna?" A young man next to me howled. I looked in the direction he pointed.
She was jumping up a cliff. And there was an overhanging cave just visible to me.
On the map, there was a huge "cross" underneath this cave, because there was a huge hollow.
If those people were inside, then their situation would become very dangerous.
Isabella's POV.
Not only is there the boy here, but there's even Liam! I yell at them, my long-deposited rage almost burning me.
Liam still looks crazy, even confident. But underneath it all, he even looked a little haggard.
But it was clear to me that there was no way he could take the form of a wolf anymore. This was a side effect of his spell.
I transformed into my human form and stood at the entrance of the cave, looking at him with dead eyes.
The rocks around here were very unstable, and the wolf form was likely to crush it. I understood this very well. And at this height, even if I jumped straight down, I wouldn't have a problem.
"There you are." The "spider hand" was nibbling on bread.
The children they had taken were on the ground, like a row of white mushrooms. The children were breathing steadily, more like they were asleep.
"If you hadn't done that, maybe we would have helped you." I sighed.
At the very least hospice care I'd be happy to help him with.
Liam laughed even crazier.
"Of course I know I don't have long to live, but wouldn't it be more appropriate to cause a little trouble at a time like this? Even if I don't draw you guys in, I can take my kids and build a Pack again, right?"
I thought about my past and just felt sick. Was he going to take these kids away and build another place like the White Birch Pack?
I can't let these kids live the same kind of life I did when I was a kid.
"Or you guys, that hasn't even changed a little? You're still just as vulnerable as you were before." Liam jumped to my side with a speed that was almost impossible to see.
How did he manage to do that? I jumped violently toward the side, almost falling on the rocks.
"And it's a good trick." He got even happier.
"You wouldn't be the only one to come here otherwise, would you?"
They moved closer to me.
There are caves here. If I could trample down the top layer of this, then there would be no problem at all. As long as they fall down, then there is almost no chance of survival.
But looking at where Liam was staying, I also had reason to think that he understood what kind of situation this was.
If he lunged, then he would most likely bite my throat. But I was already leaning against the wall and couldn't back up. I turned into my wolf form and charged desperately toward several of them. liam fell straight into the cave under my impact.
I just hoped they wouldn't get those kids involved. But perhaps this was the way it was all going to end.
"How dare you!" Liam's voice came up from the bottom of the cave. His voice sounded particularly angry, but it soon fell completely silent. He must have fallen straight to the bottom.
I had thought about what would happen to me when I died many times, but I definitely hadn't thought about this one. It was just too lopsided.
A gray figure broke into my line of sight. Elijah appeared at my side, and he pushed the wolf right aside.
But inevitably, the one on the other side bit me on the shoulder.
Elijah bit the warrior and fell backwards violently. But that was the cave below!
If I fell, there was absolutely no hope of climbing back up.
I couldn't afford to lose him.
"Elijah?!"
I crouched next to the cliff, only to feel that my mind was completely unable to turn. There was no response from below the rock wall, was I going to lose him? If he falls, then I don't want to exist alone in this world.
