Chapter 101
o/ A/N: I’m back! I won’t lie, I got sick with my plethora of health conditions, and while sick I got mentally drained working 2 other jobs. But also like… I still want to write! I got discouraged, but I never gave up!
Samira
I looked out the window, seeing the Granadian city close to the castle disappear.
The moon was out, but not as bright as She usually was…. I watched Her slowly change from a dull orange to a dim silver yet, I still felt energized as we rode home. I silently prayed the moon goddess felt better…
Tyson hadn’t spoken about what happened while he was dead, his new title, nor whatever duties he would have. At the moment, he wore a white shirt with gray sweatpants and I had on a pullover blue dress that went to my knees. No one would guess that we were royalty.. He snored softly in the back of the car with me… but I knew better.
My mate is now the 3rd General of Hell, First Division… He is likely tasked with retaliation. There was a fight over him after they destroyed Contradiction… I may be a little too innocent sometimes, but I wasn’t stupid.
Somone will suffer… Many will die… It just won’t be *here*…. And I’m not ok with that, but there’s nothing I can do. I cannot see the Horned One playing nice about this… I cannot see the Lord of Light not taking his anger out on someone… They in their outrage nearly killed each other’s mates according to the accounts I’ve heard from the Realm King…. But Tyson will not give me details. He probably shouldn’t. It could be something they deem classified. It could have even been illegal for him to gain the wish to help me and our child in the first place.
But then, if I’m right, the only one who would make a stink about Tyson’s wish would be Arviel. After all, he might still be upset at my mate for not bending the knee…. Three planets and a sun was destroyed by the Realm King to stop them… So I don’t know…. Perhaps Xaxas would keep Arviel at bay with his father…
I resisted holding my belly in worry. I wasn’t showing or anything, but nobody at the castle knows officially yet. I don’t want to make it official until the doctor says our child is healthy. Plus, we are to gain a full trained, seasoned general to watch the castle. I’m not sure if he’s there yet, and I want to meet him too.
Nothing will be overlooked. No one will have mercy. If they mean my foal harm, I don’t care what Tyson does to them. So long as it is painful enough to scare the rest to either bend the knee, or they choose to begone, there is no difference to me right now. Just because I am a prey animal does not mean that I won’t fight for my child.
Where did *that* come from? I snorted like a horse and everything!
“I’m so glad you asked for me to pick you up your highness.” Said Jang happily, our driver. Either he didn’t understand my snort, or he ignored it. Either way… I was a little glad that he, nor Tyson said anything.
He is the only Council who shared blood with my mate. In life and death, Jang’s loyalty goes to the man who took the worms out his flesh. And at the moment, his king snored.
Tyson slept, resting his head on my lap while we sat in the backseat. He could have gotten a rental, or even teleported us to our room, but he felt better with a council member, and a full 5 car detail of hyena shifters was more appropriate. I was inclined to agree. We should show up proud, strong, and full force. It will deter anyone from plotting…. Or at least… it might prevent it.
“My eyes wouldn’t be closed if we did not trust you Jang.” Said Tyson while still asleep. “Don’t worry about our pup Samira.”
“I’ll try not to.” I added honestly. “And I trust you as well.”
I really meant that. Other than those who share blood with Tyson, Jang is the only Council who partook of his king’s blood. He is bound by Tyson, thus, if anything, his is the only loyalty that is mandated by his very being. Jang is not just unwilling to betray, he is *unable.*
“Lord Kenriel will be the *real* protector though… I’m just decoration compared to a numbered General of the Realm King.” He chuckled.
“I heard. I assume he’s already here?” I asked, if only to probe.
“Not yet. He visited while you were gone to look for the castle’s weaknesses and any issues, and he’ll be coming back after your doctor visit.” Said Jang.
He looked *so* much healthier… and a little taller, sitting up straight. His body was fleshed out, and I could see his shoulders looked more like a large Warrior shifter, instead of how awful he got after losing so much weight….
There was something about seeing the castle… Seeing my home that gave me a bit of relief…. I *know* what my mate said, what even Lord Xaxas confirmed, but I still wanted to hear it from a doctor. I wanted the protection of being the Wolf Queen in her castle. I wanted a doctor to tell me that our baby is ok.
“It feels strange to receive such praise your grace, I do not deserve it.” Said Jang.
“Jang, you are appreciated.” Said Tyson sitting up with a yawn. I knew he wasn’t asleep too hard…. I petted his hair, and his growl was legitimately hot…. Oh my…Tyson reached over, and rolled down his window as well. From his angle, he probably wanted to see the trees better.
“…. Are you feeling…. Smite-ish sire?” Asked Jang, rolling down the window. “I sense more hostility than usual.”
“No, just a little cautious.” Said Tyson. “More like on edge. If anyone tries me, I think I might behead them on accident.”
“Then I’ll link the court.” Offered Jang casually
“Don’t have court today.” I blurted, putting a hand on his.
I don’t know why I had a feeling that I should attend my king first… There was a growing want to be with him.
It felt… familiar.
“My little mate, whatever you desire.” He said with a light smile, but I could see his fangs. “Tell them nothing.”
“Alright sire.” Said Jang.
Such a handsome, wicked smile stunned me, while eyes undressed me, but his hand on mine was gentle. He only held it, being a perfect gentleman as the castle got closer. The trees lined the U-driveway, and when it parked the door was opened for us.
“Welcome home, my lord and lady.” Said Mr. Julian. He wasn’t in a suit, but he did come to attend us.
“Julian, go back to bed.” Chuckled Tyson. “The rest of you who are off duty as well.”
Tyson held my hand as we got out, and when we got to the threshold, Omegas held the double doors so he could carry me.
I knew where we were going.
Our bed.
I rested my head on his chest as he took steps that echoed in the servant lined halls. I gazed upon the hall lined by a sea of bowed heads, and showing necks. People of all ranks, classes, and power bowed. Not a single Council member who was here said a word.
The top seats weren’t in because no meetings had been held, however, many of the lower seats, under the 8th seat were.
“Today I will spend time with my mate. Friday we will resume court for an emergency meeting.” Said Tyson casually.
“Yes sire.” Said I think the 9th seat? I should know this! Soggy hooves, who’s the 9th seat?!
“Alpha Hezmon, my 9th. Contact my Upper Council. If they cannot attend, we can move it to Monday.”
“My Lord… have you become a general?” Asked Ken the Silent. He normally doesn’t speak …. But I remember him because of his strange title.
“Is it true our queen is with pup?” Asked another council member.
“I am not liberty to discuss this yet, Alpha Red, my 10th seat.” Said Tyson calmly.
However, it could be understood that if another question was asked, they’d probably be killed. He carried me as if I was his prize, and I felt wanted, needed. I know even though we were apart for only a small time, that it was because of his death,
We made it to our room, and Tyson gently placed me on the bed. “Are you tired?” He asked gently, but I could see his eyes darken. They became a deeper red with every word.
“No. I’m alright.” I said as he leaned into my face, gently putting a stray strand of hair away from it. I put my hands on him…. A little part of me wanted to feel that he was real after the mate bond told me he was dead… A bigger part of me only wanted to be in his arms under our sheets.
“Are you hungry?” He asked as my cheeks heated up. He pulled me into his lap, kissing my neck gently. It felt amplified. Tingles and sparks were waves crashing on a rocky shore. “I could have the servants bring you something.”
“No, I’m not hungry.” I said returning his touch. He ran a clawed hand from the top of my thigh, down my leg to my right ankle… and back up.
It was electric… It had been a while since we’d been intimate, and now even the suggestion of anything more made his touch became elevated. Every caress intensified times a thousand, yet it was not enough…. like heat…
“Today I care not for this world… Everything else can wait, everyone else will be fine. Anything and everything you wish to do will be done my queen.” He whispered in my ear.
