Chapter 81
A/n: I need to change my a/n. go on bluesky if you wanna know details, but this was edited while kerfuffled and frustrated. It’s over now, but this whole weekend’s been kinda stupid, but I can laugh about it now.
Samira
“Rise Kenriel.” Said Tyson. “Come sit. Have some coffee. You look winded… and a little bloodied.”
Tyson linked servants while he sat, and coffee was sipped. They spoke a while in another language, though he did say the next part in English.
“Thank you, my lord…. A world ending threat has awakened, and slipped through my fingers becoming literal slime, ugh…. He has killed 3 demigods already… and decapitated the Battle Bull in one-to-one combat.
“What.” Tyson Stood. “Tell me everything.”
“Your brother attracted the attention of the Eagle Wing Unit… They deal with investigation, and divine anomalies. I’m sure you know of his turning of Lord Alavastros, the unknown son of the Battle Bull… but he also turned the unknown daughter and grandson of the Flaming One.”
“Continue.” Said Tyson. “Spare no detail.”
….I know Eternya had children; it’s how Harmony got her title of Risen One…Something had to be done with all that energy they used to make trouble….. It was said that of all the generals, he was the biggest womanizer. He held parties that lasted weeks, sullying temple maidens across the land… But being handed the report, and seeing that his daughter was half elf, and his grandson is a minotaur was surprising to say the least.
…Wow, his grandson is a *minotaur*…. I wondered why it was important…. It means his daughter either married a demon, or another minotaur, which is …Risky.
If they’re mindless or not is like flipping a coin. Each generation. It’d be like flipping a quarter twice and expecting it to be heads. The First generation is 50/50… but the next is 50/50 times two, the third, times three and so on… Eventually… it becomes impossible for them to be anything more than a grazing animal, or a rampaging beast….
“I made the same face.” Said Kenriel, referring to me. “The young master turned him and a few others, and it gained the attention of the Church…. They sent full angels to investigate. Tamriel was the one who did that, damn idiot.” He scoffed. “Sentinel, his half human son is meant to guard the humans there, not him… but that’s what made the issue. Getriel, the Eagle Wing Captain personally came to see, and he does not like, nor tolerate mortal disruptions…. The barrier maiden for their project, was a mortal witch named Chelsea, who’s also turned by lord Kaizen now.”
She’s a Dark Witch now… She was killed by Gettriel, and that’s how this monster was let loose…
So not only is this the Church’s fault times two… but the world dies for it.
Arviel will kill his own wife with his whoring… birthing sons who swear revenge.
“What were they hiding? What’s the Lord of Contradiction?” Demanded my mate.
“One of the last bastard sons of the Lord of Light; this one, he hid from his wife… He swore he would never touch another mortal to soothe her heart. He did that In Front of the Entire Pantheon and Mortals, but *this* one is from before that.”
“That still doesn’t mean that it didn’t break Lia’s heart.” I mumbled…
Arviel…. In some cultures, he’s called Zooz Lord of the Sun and Lightning, but those who call him that are usually polygamists…. They claim since the Sun loves all, so can they.
“He’ll likely make Lia his mate now.” Said Tyson. “It says here that he has 4 arms and dappled skin… 3 eyes… what the hell?! He sounds like something grandfather would make.”
“…. He does… Yet… this being is dangerous enough to 1v1 the Battle Bull and Win…. Without help… and literally slip through my fingers.”
King Jerold was said to be as strong as the original Wolf King…. Now I was worried for my mate. In the stillness of such a serious decree, Tyson held my hand.
“This does not settle my mind.” Said Tyson. “I want my mate’s things readied. We will leave in two days.”
“I will stay here my lord.” He bowed.
“Good. Shakira’s coming with me.” Tyson said pulling out his phone.
I didn’t know why he needed time, but he likely needed to prep for the protection of the king…RoyalMoon… and the Fountain. It cannot be stolen….
“As High Priestess, I must protect the fountain.” I said standing.
“Go with her Kenriel. Do not leave this castle, and when I return here, do not leave her side.”
“Yes sir.” He bowed.
I got up and he followed.
“What a mess…. Sorry.” I mumbled.
“No, there’s no issue.” He smiled. “I rather like that I get to slow down a bit. Oh Sorry, I didn’t really introduce myself. I’m Kenriel, Fifth general of the Realm King. I specialize in miracles and protection.”
It was well known that of all his generals, Kenriel was the only one to die for others. He’s why this side of the world only had minimal fighting….
“It’s alright.” I said with a return smile. He seemed pretty disheveled and a little beat up… like Contradiction did more than escape…
“I wasn’t defeated, because we didn’t fight…He ran. I am Kenriel, though my original name was Zakest, the Sacrificed, now I am The Sainted. Arviel blessed me after I died for these lands… I’ll die as many times as I need.” He said firmly. “With my Light I will protect you, niece of my master.”
Kenriel is a general of Xaxas… Legend said he sacrificed his body, being burned alive for North and South America’s mercy. Because of him, forces were sent back to the other continents.
“Everyone says I did that for Just this place…” He motioned the castle in general with his hands, and I kind of wanted to hear his story. “They forget *why*… everyone forgot Sunflower, her name’s meaning… her True, I doubt you can pronounce.” He mumbled. “They forgot about her sweet smile and how good mortals *can* be if left the Fuck alone.”
“Did you love her?” I asked.
“I was her guardian. Of course I did.” He said sadly. “Well…. Not Really her guardian… She didn’t know of me, and I made sure no one knew of her… To love a mortal during the war was *asking* for trouble… She was *just* a human.” He laughed dryly. “The master burned me like a gas covered match for this part of the world… I made him so angry, but I was right… The keys to the Pale Lady’s prison weren’t here… or anywhere… it was a grand trick Arviel let play out to hold power over the Horned One. If he knew Arviel had the keys, or could make more, he’d have fought him outright and ended all life for his mate.”
“And you… you died for Sunflower, but the rest of the world kinda benefited.” I mumbled.
“Eskaal did it too.” Kenriel admitted. “Akami’Xinatie, his former betrothed, was partly why he kneeled to the master… She didn’t love him. All she did to gain his affection was making him meals, or asking him about our day…We…” He looked like he debated on saying it. “Even the great bull demon Torrus fell in love with Glycasia, and was punished so harshly we don’t know if he’s even alive anymore… She was sweet as her namesake… why he fell in love with her.”
“Say your truth.” I said as we got to the fountain.
It was glowing red, while the water was black because the moon goddess was Clearly enraged. I pulled out the book from under a secret compartment in the fountain, something Asanguis did for me, and looked up how to contact her with this.
I could literally text her… but *this* is how a priestess is *Supposed* to do it. I put in dried moon lilies and death’s whisper, a kind of black flower that grows…. Only with corpses directly under their roots.
