Chapter 66

Samira
“I know he’ll be a good godfather… but I didn’t mean to put my foot in my mouth.” Said Tyson with a sheepish smile. “Also, you’re not with pup; I’d scent it. Pregnant unicorns are supposed to smell like chocolate chip cookies.”
“How do you know that?” I asked. “Also I’m part elf, and I don’t know what that scent would be.” I complained… I should know this! Tyson pulled out his phone.
“Elves carry no additional scent, since they don’t have our noses…. So you’d likely smell like chocolate. Take care of this.” He passed it to me.
“Alright. If you get any calls, I’ll let them know that you’re busy….” I mumbled as if he wasn’t about to risk his life for his subjects…They were slowly filling this massive arena… and guards were getting in place. “I suppose you have to go… please come back.” I said hugging his bare chest. He kissed the top of my head.
“I love you, and I *will* return. I swear this little dove.” He came in and gave me one last kiss… he picked me up to let me wrap my arms around his neck, and I avoided crying on him…. He *needed* me to be strong…. I needed to be there for him when he returns.
He left still smelling… unstable.
“Come your majesty.” Said Jabari. He looked pretty somber… I could understand it though… He watched them grow up. His loyalty may be to Tyson, but that didn’t mean he had no feelings at all for Kaizen.
I was led up the stairs to the private booth… Only I was up here. It seemed whatever his parents were doing to prevent this wasn’t working… But that they weren’t here showed they were still trying. I sat in one of the enormous, comfortable recliners… I sank into the large seat made for Alphas and Queens…
It wasn’t long before I saw the human, the girl Kaizen killed for… She was certainly pretty. Her hair was a rich ginger, and her freckles made a perfect line under her eyes, though she was pale. Her eyes were filled with worry with every step… She also had elvish features, minus the ears.
There was an elegance to her, that if someone told me she was a fellow princess, I’d believe it. Her hair cascaded long like a shifter, yet I bet in a ballgown, at first glimpse none would know she wasn’t supernatural…
She said nothing, but she held her head high with pride and defiance… I can’t imagine what awful things were being said about her, since she was the only human here for miles… She was the only human besides the few priests attending in case they need to stop a supernatural event… but they *definitely* don’t count.
Shakira escorted her stoically. I could tell she too blamed all of this on Kaizen’s mate. Well… she may not be his mate…. Tyson seemed so sure of himself on that, but seeing her now I know that might not be the case… She looked too worried to be a Hunter…
Well… She could also be worried of her fate. If Kaizen dies, she will too… Tyson won’t let her live…. But if she did live, as a human…. At BEST they’d keep her locked away in a dungeon and treat her horribly the rest of her short life… Even if they were mates, once the supernatural dies, the human begins to age again. I found that out yesterday; I asked Ronitus out of curiosity.
No supernatural would see a priest in a high light, not those who belong to the Night Court. I couldn’t help but be upset about this… no one should have to go through this. She did nothing, yet, her fate is literally sealed. This will likely be the first and last meeting of this woman, and I couldn’t help but shed a few tears for her…
Everyone is so dead set on justice, but where’s hers?

I wiped my eyes from the shameful, small sniffles. It was only 3 tears, but 3 too many…
Jabari left before Shakira came inside. He bowed politely to me, but we can’t link. Whatever it was he was meant to do was gone to be carried out… I could just about guess.
Jack the Slasher was in the castle…. I was told he could phase through walls, and he quite literally likes pulling the innards out of people….
So even when this is over… With his master dead he’s going to have to be dealt with. I imagine I’m a target should Kaizen win or lose….
All of this is so awful…
“I’m sorry we have to meet like this… I’m Samira the Glittering One, Tyson’s mate... You must be Lord Kaizen’s mate.” I said kindly. I can’t stop the others… but her poor treatment *will* stop with me.
We shook hands….
There was no evil, malice, nor Hunter’s scent….
I could feel the good nature of her. As a unicorn, that was natural… So she was truly innocent, and that made me more upset…
All Tyson would have had to do to prove her Hunter Status, was to have me get a look at her…So she suffers with such a heavy accusation for nothing. I *know* the crowd were cruel to her as she walked… that they believe what their King believes… weather or not he says it directly to them.
His attitude impacts them… and they are wolves… They would be loyal even if they disagreed.
“I am. My name’s Willow.” She said nicely…. Maybe we could have been friends.
“I can translate what they say if they speak wolf.” Said my Royal Guard Captain.
“I would like that Shakira.” I said with a small, but kind of fake smile. “I told him to find another way, that our people would be upset at first if he was slapped on the wrist, but know that he made the right decision… I know your first impression of him is This, but he cares deeply for his family… He wants to do right so bad…”
“I respect that, but his righteousness has made everyone’s life harder. Dragging this out won’t give his people closure.” She mumbled. We both sat down. I sat in Tyson’s chair, while she sat in mine…. Tyson’s chair made me feel honestly like a small child.
“Indeed… many of the pack have pleaded for Lord Kaizen, stating that he wouldn’t have attacked without any reason…. Saving your mate is universally understood….. Tyson told me what you said about the fence.” I said and she nodded.
“Yet look…. I can’t hear them, but I know they’re going to fight anyway….” Willow pointed at them… they looked ravenous for battle…
They looked like two lead stallions fighting for rank… as there can only be one. But there can only be One King… Should Tyson lose, he won’t hold the castle, and he’ll also likely be dead…
We watched them take off their clothes and circle each other… They looked so identical, that I couldn’t tell them apart… I’d know up close… but from here, nothing, not even their posture was different.
Even the fire between their horns flickered in sync….
“Damn, I’m so late, and Xaxas isn’t here yet.” Said Bryson, making us both jump. There is no sound when they teleport… They just appear.
He was also at least maybe 11 feet tall? If you told me he was the God of Justice, in those robes of black and red trim, I’d believe it. The only thing that stayed the same was his face.
I could see Willow realize who Bryson was nearly instantly… They both look like younger, less scarred versions of their father. I let him sit in Tyson’s chair, and another enormous recliner was brought for Willow. The chairs are identical, except Tyson’s was even bigger than the already comically large furniture pieces.
“You’re fine sir.” She said politely. “I’m Willow.” She had to crane her neck up to speak to him. I do too; he’s a giant.
He chuckled. “I am Bryson. Don’t worry about my titles and such.” He shook her hand. Honestly, her entire hand, partially up her arm fit in his loose grip. I half imagine that he could accidentally hurt someone if he wasn’t careful. He was also careful sitting down. He made sure we weren’t in his way.
I was suddenly hugged by Isabelle. She then squeezed Willow like she was going to pop her…
