Chapter 33
                    Samira
I may or may not have squealed like a foal.
“And you ruined it.” Tyson kissed the top of my head. “You’re too cute for your own good.”
Now I had no regrets…. Until he laughed.
“Awe that’s *so* Innocent! I love this show though.” He admitted.
“Really?” I raised a brow.
“I was a pup too you know.” He encouraged. He sang the little clarinet theme song and bounced me in his lap.
“Stop!” I complained.
“You like it.” He sang.
“So what!” I blushed. “You’re being *mean*!” I squealed and giggled while he laughed as he held my face to his warm chest.
“I am, sorry baby.” He still laughed. “I remember this episode. It’s the one were Rupert finds the dragon that eats leaves.”
I snuggled into his lap… He was his true height in here, and I was basically a lap-cat…. I bet he’s only comfortable in this bed in his 6’5 form…. Meaning he has to remain small even in his sleep.
“That’s a trade off I’m willing to make for peace though.” Said Tyson. “It doesn't hurt, but waking up because I grow suddenly was never really an issue, I’d just shrink and go back to sleep. Now I stay unrestricted for your sake.” He admitted.
“And I’m thankful you don’t squish me.” I said getting my shoulders massaged.
“I’m not picking on you too much am I?” He asked.
“No.” I smiled gently. He let out a breath.
“Good. I won’t feel bad now.” He said turning me around to kiss me on the lips. He cradled my chin with one hand, while the other held me gently to his lap. There was so much love and passion to this kiss, that I knew it was his way of apologizing anyway.
He really didn’t want to make me feel uncomfortable. He hasn’t. There’s nothing that he’s done to make me feel that way. Even if I had, the mate bond kind of gets you to forget it. Well, more like forgive. Those are two different things for most other peoples…
My people are so trusting that most won’t even realize they’ve been insulted.
“You hold all my love little mate. My heart belonged to you the day I saw your picture.” He said kissing me again. I could feel the lump under me grow, but that arousal was from our intimacy…
“And my heart beats for you too you know.” I said wrapping my arms around him. I turned around to fully hold him, and he supported my sides with clawed hands… Any other would fear those sharp claws, but they made me moan…
It made him chuckle sinisterly… He knew what he was doing to me….
Tyson
Samira wore my shirt and shorts while she rode on my back. We were late and I was faster…. I got Heckled a bit for it too.
“Awe look he’s already whipped.” Chuckled Xaxas when I skidded to a stop.
[Like you didn’t let Harmony ride yo-] I got cut off.
“It was One time to prove a point.” Said my uncle. “Brother, mind if I come too if I get them ready?”
Me and my mate became shifted in human form, and clothed in formal wear. All it took was a finger snap. It was a nice black suit, and she wore a gold dress to match my tie.
I’m glad he didn’t pick red. Xaxas wouldn’t know or care, but wearing red to funeral related events is *rude*.
“You can fuck *right* off.” Said father. “You said-” He pointed a clawed finger at Xaxas, but he got cut off too.
“I Know What I Said. *Visiting* isn’t interfering.” Countered my Uncle.
“….. You want the vigil food, don’t you?” Said father, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I mean… like I heard Libby was helping, and I wanted to support the kid.” Said Xaxas, *lying* through his teeth. Oh, I’m sorry, *Embellishing*. I shot a glare at him.
“I’m with Tyson on this one, but I know you’ll find some way to find out how to fuck around.” He pointed into his brother’s chest now, completely serious… challenging someone stronger than him by more than ten, maybe 20 times….? It gets hard to tell when I’m small myself. Compared to father, a full god, I am a pup. “My mortals have lost their mates. Don’t be disrespectful to them. ”
“You have my word. I will honor the dead felled by my nephew.” He said rolling his eyes. “Reference for *mortals*…. How novel.” He scoffed. “I’m the one who made sure they all went to Layer 1; their mates should be thankful. As an act of Kaizen’s wrath, I could have put them anywhere.”
“You say that as if I had nothing to do with it.” Said father, snapping his fingers.
I adjusted the tie of my uncomfortable suit… The wake was readied….
Everyone was buried, mostly cremated. They were in so many parts…butchered like cattle. This feast was to honor and remember those my brother killed.
This felt personal, but I already felt unwelcome, though we were still phasing in…. I knew each of them…. I knew each late Warrior personally. I approved their timecards, made their payroll… I spoke with their families. I saved some of their lives *myself* as Alpha from the claws of Rogues….
Kaizen even more so, since I left for long periods to be King….
I spoke at their kids’ graduations. I watched some of them grow up, start to finish… I even passively babysat by leaving my office open to make sure their little ones were safe and not getting into things when their mothers were busy…
Yet now when I think of my own pack, all I think of is Kaizen, and how he destroyed such a bond. I doubt anyone will want ANYTHING to do with me…
I knew my eyes were already making light… but neither Father nor my Uncle will interfere….
Meaning how I handle this, if I sink or float will be on me….
With the fun over, it was time to be King….. Something I learned early. If I give them any room to wiggle, my subjects tend to wiggle right into trouble.
And with the arrival of father, I had to do all the wiggling for my people’s wellbeing.
All of us felt more or less nauseous from father’s magic…. He wasn’t very good at it, but he was learning for my sake... Xaxas held his mouth, while Samira had trouble too. I rubbed her back, and I saw their fear.
The moment I appeared in the packhouse they *scattered* like mice….
The hot steaming food’s scent was overshadowed by the overwhelming stench of my men’s fear… The rush was so great, that Warriors had to step in so none of the Omegas got trampled. They just so happened to be here…
They gave the terrified looks of cornered pray…
Those who did not run, trembled and showed me their hands as they bowed… the only lower bow would be if they kneeled on hands and knees… which some did.
At least no one was shifted belly up, but it was too crowded for it.
Samira took my left hand in both hers, and rubbed my knuckles.
My father, uncle nor mother said anything as I figured… She only looked disappointed. Whether it was in Kaizen, me, or the pack, I am the wolf… I do not have the ability to tell.
At least not right now… My guess was that it was in our people…
I was held by some of these wolves as a pup…
