Chapter 82

Samira
Kenriel Sighed… He looked like he didn’t want to share what he was going to say, but ultimately, after a little silence he did.
“We are generals who serve the *God of Judgement* …. We do not *get* affection, not without it being from a place of service… Allivaldi even did this to the master… On accident of course, but it’s natural. With so much power… comes so *much* loneliness for those of us who can feel that. When a mortal shows us *any* kind of real affection, or see us without fear… or love us… or even like Sunflower… All she did was offer me water once. Just once. It was hot and she had a little extra in her jug that she didn’t want to spill… That was it. I saved her from a grizzly bear attack later that year, but she didn’t know that.
She only thought she escaped from the man-eater… I watched her live her mortal life completely happy…She could never be happy married to an immortal monster… Since she wasn’t my mate, she’d age….So I left her alone.”
“I never thought of that.” I mumbled.
“Nobody does…. Only mates receive our immortality through the bond, so I let her be… *I let her Go like I Should have*…. I am a general. I could have flew off with her, married her… our half fae children would still be alive… But I say that as if she’d go along with being married to a man marked by Hell’s First Prince.” He scoffed.
“You did the right thing.” I admitted. “Since she’s not your mate… I’m sure Xaxas might have made you kill her… or someone from the Church hurt her.”
He nodded…. He knew I was right on that too. As JUST a human in the supernatural world… during the war she wouldn’t have lived her full life. Maybe The Realm King would have turned her, since he made vampires, undead, and dragons… but I doubt it.
Before Queen Harmony, there was no kindness, nor sympathy in a heart like his…. I know if I ever asked him in person, he’d agree.
“Thank you… it means more to you than you know to Hear that from someone other than Lord Eskaal. She got happily married because I made sure the man who courted her Knew I’d flay him for her tears….Sunflower had 5 children, none died because I healed them…. She died of old age. And you know what? She’s Willow’s ancestor because I managed to convince the master to leave this place the Fuck alone…. And not interfere… let them be.”
“…But this story is different from what I heard.”
“Yeah, because I don’t exactly want people to know that little soul, should she ever be found, would be tormented and ripped apart as my weakness. She went to Haven… It wouldn’t be much of a stretch back then either… the Light Court… They do things too.” He left out *what* but it was outright war… “I only told you just now because you ordered it… but please my lady… do not say any of this to anyone, not even the other mates of the masters… to do so is to put the lives of Sunflower and her people in danger. Only Willow holds protection… not the rest.”
I could imagine Sunflower being taken and tortured, or harmed even though they weren’t even together….The affection was only one sided… she didn’t even know he was protecting her. How lonely his death and punishment… and now renewal must feel.
“Ah!” I got zapped with the water when I put my hands in it.
…. How dangerous this monster must be to have the Moon Goddess this mad.
“Sorry Samira…. Contradiction almost killed my grandson, and no one can explain to me why such an unstable creature is on Urth.” I could tell that made her burst into tears.
“It’ll work out.” I said soothingly, putting my hands in the water again. This time it didn’t burn, but the area around my hands was red.
“No it won’t!” She yelled. “Not this time… not this time… No world that has ever held a being with the title of Contradiction has lived…. Lia already wilts…” she threw up. “I will with her.”
“My lady please rest.” Said Grendel, her Herald in perfect English instead of wolf speech.
“No.” she sounded like she was about to puke again… the fountain started to look… Dull.. Oxidized. That Can’t be good….
“My lady...”
“I must find and guide the little ones.” She said in protest.
I tried to comfort her as best as I could... We’re separated from each other….But I tried touching the water.
I got shocked again….. I then heard throw up sounds.
The water became a sickly green and began to overflow. “If there is no earth, then there is no moon. If there is no moon, then there is no one to stop my husband’s true nature. He plays nice and claims the little mortals as our children, because we made them together… If either of us die, so will the other…”
“Grandmother I will die before I let this world suffer.” Said Tyson suddenly teleporting behind me. “…. Shit… my head hurts being in here. Fuck!”
The fountain… It became black.
I’d only been a priestess a little bit.. not even a year…
Not even a decade….
My hair turned black… and with it came black claws…
That’s the start of the Bicorn Process, however there was no pain.
“I won’t let you!” Yelled the Goddess’s distorted voice from the water. “I block you from my powers little one! I am not stable enough to grant you strength.”
“I understand.” I said frantically trying to keep the fountain intact… The stone statue of Grendel cracked. It spread like wildfire.
“Let it happen little one.”
“NO!” I shouted, being shocked as it turned to crumpled rock and black sand… the water became a nonreflective black tar… the sprinklers put out the thick oil. “No…”
I watched the flames dance on the floor… water was made to oil, and stone sand from no one touching it…. Contradiction.
I’m THE priestess of the Moon.... I tried to fix it, but Tyson caressed me, gently pulling me into a hug. He held his hand up, making a magical flame barrier. The water sizzled as it went out overtop our  ‘umbrella’
“What did I do?!” I yelled, shaking his unmoving body. Tyson hugged me, shielding me from seeing the oldest, most precious artifact of any moon worshipers… broken…
I’d never seen magical rejection so Great… When it was all burned away, the sprinklers filled a puddle. The stone underneath the oil was partly dissolved….
“She’s throwing up blood on the other side of… all that.” He said stiffly.
“…Then we have to prepare for the what ifs.” I said like a Queen…
Right now, everyone is going to depend on me. I Am the Wolf Queen. They, and my mate need confidence and leadership right now… There is no room for being a cute little unicorn.
Gwen left me with this responsibility. I will NOT disappoint her. I will not bring shame onto my mother by being Weak.
“Samira.” I stopped him.
“I know my hair will change back when you defeat Contradiction… Right now, I’m merely reflecting the dark side of the Moon Goddess…” My hair slowly became white again… so did the broken stone. She blocked me from becoming a bicorn. “If she dies, so will I.”
She is the Queen of the Night… and I am her priestess… She blocked the process and the pain that comes with the bicorn transformation, because my fingers bled now that my nails were normal…
A/N: Next chapter has snippets from chapter 58 of the Fallen Prince. Kaizen, Tyson, and Grace’s (the Dragon’s Grace) all happen at the same time. After that, chapter 84 onward will be mostly new content. Of course, there’s SOME overlap, but I’m not doing the whole ‘be lazy and switch to Kaizen’. That’s Bullshit.
