Chapter 95
                    Tyson
As if fate had it out for me, Grandma Gwen was *with* the Herald of the Moon. Grendil took one look at me and teleported.
I had enough sense to move the moment I registered his swipe at me.
One moment too late, and I’d be under flaming paws.
“I need grandma to help me!” I yelled.
“All Hell an Haven broke out in the sky…. What happened?” She asked while I ran for my life.
\[He was a dick to my mistress, and for it I told him to eat a fat one!” He snapped at me. “You can too! Ingrate.\]
He breathed silver lasers! The deep hum of it made the back of my hair stand on end.
\[Begone!\]
“AH!!” I screamed. He can pulse it too, like a laser gun… Who Thought This Was A GOOD Idea?!!!
“Great one, let him speak.” She said holding a giggle.
“No.”
“He was trying to keep her safe!” I countered, shifting to run faster. “I saw it through his eyes!” I yelled in English while shifted.
\[I don’t give a Single Flaming Fuck Intruder!\] He snapped, teleporting, missing my face by a millimeter at most!
Ah! His claws are lasers too!!!
\[GRAHH HOLD STILL\]
“NO!”
“I will help him my lord.” She said holding a giggle.
“I need you to calm down his Herald! He pissed him off too!”
“I figured.” She sighed, shaking her head. Her mate stood there not helping, laughing at me.
“Run little rabbit, father may yet catch you.” He sang.
“Awe come on!” I complained!
I was dodging for my life. The moment he was hostile, everyone else ran to help him. I am not part of his pack, being claimed by the Horned One. I bet that’s a sore spot for the Moon Goddess too…
\[Hold still!\] Grindil yelled, and I grabbed my grandma’s toga with barely half a moment to spare….
“I’ll see you two later.” Said grandfather Ashital with a chuckle.
\[This is NOT funny, my eldest son!\] Roared Grendeal, another name he holds.
On the wind, I could hear his shock. I purposefully left the key with him. I could hear the confusion, then cheers.
Just like a deadbolt lock at home on the packhouse, when we lost the housekey, the door still worked. It could be locked from the inside, but with the key, someone could come in. With that small key, one that opens the way to an afterlife…
No one will ever enter the Moon Realm, Lunaria, with doorway-magic again without permission. I’m sure she’ll relax a little better when Grendel gives it to her.
After all, *that* was the key countless trillions died for. The one given at that ceremony all those years ago was probably a copy…
One good enough to even trick Xaxas and his rulings…
I didn’t hear what he said after that, because I was teleporting as fast as I could Below… I doubt I’ll ever be allowed to *ever* see the Moon Goddess again, since I broke in.
“Slow down!” Yelled grandmother. She was going to pull out my fur it was gripped so hard.
“Sorry.” I said a little sheepishly.
I know the Horned One… He made my son too strong for my mate to birth, in retaliation to whatever Arviel is making…. I also know it wasn’t his intention to ever harm my son, but his overzealous tinkering caused this…
It almost makes me not want to help him, but at the same time… I Do understand…
They’d fought so long I don’t rightly know if they understand *what* peace actually means…. There was no *need* to create another righteous monster…. One who is not even compatible with his own blood.
Or his own mother.
We landed about a mile away from the Pit’s house. Now I could catch my breath.
“I take it since Kaizen does his task, and Tiffany aided him… I am to aid you with yours.” She said softly. “You are safe now, my little holy pup.”
She put both her hands on my cheeks and kissed me on the top of the head… I wagged my tail before shifting. She always makes you feel nice. And it isn’t the fact that she’s the only Soul Mender… It’s honestly the fact that she’s a good person too.
“My son was made too strong for my mate to carry…. To my understanding, one of Kaizen’s twins are meant to die as well…”
“Oh my… before we go talk to my father, take me to the throne room.”
I teleported without asking her what she intended to do.
Who’s to say that without this wish… that my son would even survive after killing his mother? This is Hell. The *worst* scenario is often what will happen…
But to be fair, if my task was to destroy a world, I would. All I could care about was resolving this for my child, and my mate…. Nothing good comes from the power we make. Moon marked or not, she is still made of purity.
That is what makes her incompatible. Regardless of my purity, I am still a literal grandson of the Horned One.
For my hubris and pride my child and mate suffer…. We should have been more careful...  She should have had darkness resistance training or something before we planned to have children. That is something that is *my* fault….
In the throne room, his guards were kneeled, and we did as well.
“What is this?” He asked impatiently. “Why have you brought the Soul Mender?”
“He didn’t ask, my lord.” She bowed once more. “I do not belong here, thus I ask permission to do my work, unhindered….”
“I take it Tyson’s efforts were rejected, as I am not even allowed to gaze her direction.” He said the last part a little bitterly, then he huffed. “but it *is* my fault.”
“Aye, but when the time is right, I will aid the other son.” She said with a small smile. “If you allow.”
“What is it you plan?” He sat up. “I find it…. Strange little soul that I cannot read you.”
“Thousands of years of training with my godkin grandson.”
They both grinned.
“I take it *you* intend on mending me too?” He asked.
“I don’t think that’s possible master’s mate… but… I can hold intention.” She said with a small smile. “I could slip how you feel for her back, should you give me but a taste of it.”
She shifted. I always loved grandmother’s golden, freshly risen moon fur. It compliments her chocolate, human formed skin.
Without words, he stood, and put his hand on her forehead. For a moment, she turned a dark purple.
“It isn’t exactly easy to be a dull blade in the mist of a known enemy.” He said honestly. “I should have stopped time, and we could have taken our argument outside.” He grumbled. “I could have left with her, or took Tyson myself instead of arguing with that old bat.”
“Could have and Should have gain perfect sight when we make mistakes.” She said as if she were smiling. “I think this is enough. Now you need to store it on my fur.”
“I like this idea.” He petted the top of her head one last time.
“The moment she pets my head, she will feel the 1st part of your apology.” Said grandma wagging her tail. When she shifted, her robes were with her.
“And the 2nd part, if ever her heart is soothed, she shall hear it from my breath.” He said firmly.
“If it makes you feel better, me and Ash has a similar spit-spat… over Brutus.” She hissed.
“He has learned nothing.” He growled.
“I’m not surprised.” She grumbled. “Let’s go.”
