Chapter 12 Not Even A Proper Nurse
"Why run away? I'm not going to eat you."
Hassan's deep voice carried a hint of anger.
"Miss Walker, your breakfast is here."
Nabil's timely appearance eased the awkward atmosphere between them.
"Hehe, Mr. Al-Farouk, let's have breakfast together!" Elena immediately escaped from his grasp.
Nabil, accompanied by two bodyguards, placed breakfast on the wooden round table. Hassan sat down calmly.
"Do you know what that star is called?" He asked.
Elena chewed on her garlic bread. "Isn't it the Altair-Vega Star?"
Hassan's eyes brightened momentarily, but quickly dimmed again.
He held a glass of red wine in his hand, gently swirling it. "Yes, that's what those two stars are called in the legend, but in reality, they are just two planets. Interestingly enough, they will align this month."
"Is that so? So what? They're just two planets. Do you believe in myths?" Elena said nonchalantly, not bothering to speculate the meaning behind Hassan's words.
Hassan's gaze turned gloomy as he looked out at the distant sea.
After a long while, he finally turned his head.
"I'm guessing you're a doctor?"
Elena's mouth was stained with bright red tomato sauce, oblivious to it as she savored the flavor.
"No, I studied nursing. I'm only a nurse, but when my dad was sick before, I took care of him, like changing dressings and cleaning wounds, I knew how to do it."
"Nursing? So you're not even a proper nurse?"
"Well, that's just a matter of time. I only have two more years until graduation, then I will be... "
"Then why did you operate on me? You haven't even finished school!"
Hassan was infuriated, his voice getting louder. This foolish girl had used him as an experiment.
"Uh, aren't you feeling better now? How can you be so ungrateful? If it weren't for me, you would have died a long time ago..."
Hassan's anger was once again ignited by Elena's words. He reached out and grabbed Elena by her collar.
"Everyday you find a new way to annoy me. Are you looking for trouble?"
Elena's face was close to his, devoid of the previous panic. Instead she stared at him with eyes full of curiousity.
"You wouldn't let me die, would you?"
Hassan squinted dangerously. "What gave you that idea?"
"Because..."
Her small lips opened, the bright red tomato sauce shining with an enticing luster.
Hassan's breath caught, his breathing gradually becoming heavier.
Elena reached out and touched his forehead, "Are you running a fever again?"
"Shit…"
Hassan growled, immediately pressing her against the dining table, his kiss forcefully sealing hers.
He sucked the tomato sauce from her mouth, the sour-sweet taste lingering with the fragrance of a young girl, making him unable to resist.
Elena's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, feeling a rush of warm sensation surging from her lower abdomen, shooting straight to her mind, causing a delightful tingling sensation throughout her body.
Just as she was drifting away in her daze, Hassan suddenly pushed her away.
Elena's face turned as red as a tomato as she gently touched her swollen cherry-like lips.
"Bastard, you said you weren't interested in me? Why... why did you kiss me?"
Hassan squinted his eyes, his smile sly. "I didn't kiss you, I just helped an idiot clean tomato sauce from their mouth."
"You... you... you..." Elena was furious. "Are you mistaking me for someone else, like Laila?"
Sometimes words slip out without going through the brain, Elena often made such mistakes.
Hassan's face indeed darkened because of her mistake.
"Leave, now!"
Elena was so overwhelmed by his yell that she turned and ran as fast as she could, feeling a deep sense of sadness for some reason. Perhaps she had developed feelings for him in her heart that she knew nothing about before.
Afterwards, Hassan paid no attention to Elena for a long time. He spent a lot of time each day dealing with a large pile of documents. When Elena cleaned the room, she could always see his tall and dark figure sitting silently in the study, sitting the whole day.
But as Hassan's injuries recovered, Elena's position in the palace also gradually rose.
In private, some of the servants showed her goodwill and greeted her. It seemed that she had gained some privileges, but she didn't know what it meant.
"Master, there's a guest."
Through the glass, Elena saw Nabil saying something to Hassan and Hassan walked out of the study and left the hall.
Taking advantage of the fact that there was no one in the living room, Elena did something daring. She had thought about this plan for many days, but usually, Hassan would sit in the study and could see everything in the living room through the glass. And Nabil also stood at the door, so no movement could escape his eyes.
Seeing Hassan's and Nabil's figures getting farther away, Elena boldly dialed Annie's phone.
After a while, a lazy voice came from the phone.
"Who is it?"
"Annie, it's me . Are you okay?"
"Elena, where have you been? Mom has been looking for you everywhere. What's wrong with you? Playing some disappearing act..."
Elena suddenly realized something and lowered her voice.
"Annie, did someone kidnap you recently?"
"Are you not awake yet? Who would kidnap me? Let me tell you, Mom is very angry. She said that she will ask you thoroughly once she finds you. Don't tell her that you took me out to take photos by the river."
"By the way, Annie, have you seen the memory card for my camera?"
"Yes, I found it on the grass, but I can't find the camera anywhere. Do you have it? When are you going to bring it to me? I'm waiting to use the photos."
Elena suddenly felt a chill run up the back of her neck. It was still with her sister, and that was not good. If Hassan found out, her sister would also be in danger.
"Annie, please keep the memory card safe, don't lose it."
Heavy footsteps came from behind, and Elena hung up the phone in a panic.
"Who were you calling?"
A low voice filled with dissatisfaction. This girl, she seemed to be cleaning every day but was actually sneaking around and investigating something. She thought he hadn't noticed, how foolish.
