Chapter 33 VIP Treatment
Elena nodded, held the bathrobe, and watched Noura leave before submerging her body into the warm bathwater.
The water temperature was just right, and she felt every pore relax. Her tense spirit slowly loosened.
There seemed to be some spices added to the bathwater. After soaking for a while, Elena even felt a bit drowsy.
After drying off her body and changing into a bathrobe, Noura was indeed standing at the door, smiling at her.
Elena didn't have the energy to pay any more attention to her and simply collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep.
When Elena woke up again, Noura was standing by the bedside, smiling at her, which startled her. This Noura!
Did she stay by her side while she slept, watching her sleep the whole time? It felt so strange and chilling.
"Miss Walker, you're awake. It's dinner time now!" Noura said politely.
"Oh..." Elena checked her phone, it was already 5:30 in the afternoon.
Seems like she slept for over two hours. "Has Hassan come back?"
Noura shook her head gently. "No, he hasn't."
"I want to call him, is that possible?"
"No, it's not. Even if you call, it won't work. The negotiation place is in an area with no wireless signal coverage. I advise Miss Walker to have a quiet meal and wait for him to return."
An area with no wireless signal coverage? What kind of place is that?
Elena couldn't comprehend it, but she felt increasingly that this man was quite mysterious.
In the clean and bright dining hall, there were beautiful European-style wall lamps, a rectangular dining table covered with a fancy tablecloth.
In the center of the table, there was a delicate golden candlestick, and only one set of silver cutlery was laid out.
Noura pulled out a chair for Elena. "Miss Walker, sit here."
"Oh, okay!"
She was sitting alone at this nearly ten-meter long luxurious dining table, which created a very eerie atmosphere.
"Does Miss Walker prefer a candlelit dinner or just eating like this?"
After Noura finished speaking, she also demonstrated with a remote control. The lights in the dining hall were like stage lights, able to create different effects such as daylight, night, romance, flower sea, moonlight, candlelight, etc.
"Ah, no, no, it's okay like this! Who needs a candlelit dinner when dining alone? Please serve the dishes, I'm so hungry!"
Truly the plaything of the rich, even the dining hall had so many gimmicks.
Elena suddenly thought of those things in the large bathtub that looked like massage chairs. What were they used for?
Noura gently clapped her hands and soon three maids appeared, carrying silver-plated trays with dishes.
Each tray contained beautiful porcelain bowls and plates with a snowy white and transparent appearance, resembling jade.
When the lids were lifted, plates of steaming hot dishes were revealed.
Each plate had only a small portion of food, but they exuded exquisite craftsmanship and deliciousness.
The maids kept appearing, one after another.
In a span of ten minutes, half of the long dining table was filled with dishes!
"Stop...Your name is Noura, right?" Elena said.
Noura approached with a smile. "Miss Walker, what can I do for you? If you don't like the dishes, I can ask the chef to make something else."
"No, it's not that, it's delicious, I just feel like there's too much food. I won't be able to finish it, you can tell them not to make anymore!"
"Alright, Miss Walker!"
The continuous flow of dishes finally came to an end.
Elena was quite distressed. Abalone, shark fins, bird's nest, French salt-baked snails, Italian foie gras...after searching for a while, she finally spotted a familiar dish - vegetable salad! It was lying in the most secluded corner.
"Noura, this table must have cost a lot, right?"
That bastard Hassan, giving her such an expensive meal! Did he have some other malicious intention?
Noura just smiled. "Miss Walker, please rest assured, the host usually eats such dishes, it doesn't cost much."
"No? Alright! It doesn't matter if he eats these, he's the high and mighty CEO after all. But me, I'm just an ordinary employee, how can I eat these expensive things?"
"Miss Walker, the host has instructed that Miss Walker's expenses for food, clothing, and daily necessities should be executed according to VIP etiquette."
VIP etiquette? Was Elena considered a VIP? It would be more accurate to say she was his temporary outlet for venting.
Thinking about this, Elena felt extremely frustrated. The table was filled with delicious delicacies, but she couldn't taste a single flavor in her mouth.
After finishing dinner, Elena curled up on the sofa in the living room and began the long wait.
"Miss Walker, the master hasn't returned yet. If you need anything, you can tell me."
Elena suddenly realized that Noura was truly a considerate woman, and couldn't help but carefully observe her for a moment.
She appeared to be in her thirties, slightly more robust and taller than the average woman, with a face that was quite ordinary, but also not vulgar, exuding an air of nobility found in wealthy families.
"Noura, how many years have you been working for Hassan?"
Noura smiled calmly. "I started when the master was fifteen, so it has been about ten years."
Ten years! It wasn't a short period of time, and Elena was slightly shocked.
"Then, does your master have many mistresses like me?"
Noura remained calm and didn't answer Elena's question.
She couldn't answer this question. Hassan almost never saw a woman repeatedly, and the number was incalculable. Perhaps even he himself didn't know.
However, for someone like Miss Walker, it was better not to ask such questions.
"Oh, it's a miracle that you can stay overnight and be treated like a VIP guest, and even sign a contract. Truly a rare event. Miss Walker, would you like to watch TV or go online? There is a TV room."
"Oh, there's no need!"
Elena knew that Noura was a very intelligent housemaid, although one who might secretly look down on her. Even though she didn't show it, Elena felt ashamed of herself.
Finally, at ten o'clock in the evening, Elena's phone rang.
"Elena, where are you?" It was her mother's voice. Elena quickly replied, "I'm outside."
"By the way, Annie has returned and is currently in the hospital, unconscious and injured. Come and see her."
"Which hospital?"
Sarah told her the name.
"Alright, Mom, I'm coming right away!"
Mayo Clinic! Elena was taken aback and hurriedly grabbed her bag and rushed out.
'Hassan, that guy really had some skills,' Elena thought excitedly.
Half an hour later, Elena arrived at Mayo Clinic.
In the ward, Annie laid on the hospital bed with a pale face, an IV drip hanging from her arm, and a bandage wrapped around her forehead.
Sarah sat beside the bed, holding Annie's hand with one hand and wiping her tears with the other.
"Mom, I'm here! How is Annie?" Elena asked anxiously.
Sarah looked up at Elena, tears streaming down her face.
"Elena, who do you think did this? Who is he? How could he treat Annie like this, my poor daughter, she's only eighteen..." Sarah's voice was hoarse, and her whole body was trembling.
"What's going on? Mom! What exactly happened?"
Elena had never seen her mother so heartbroken before. There was a sense of despair in her trembling body.
"She... she... she was abused..."
"Abused?!"
Elena's heart raced, and she quickly approached Annie, noticing obvious bruises on her neck.
With trembling hands, Elena gently uncovered Annie's clothes, and the horrific wounds slowly came into her view.
The bloody mess, one after another. Elena couldn't bear to look anymore. She covered her face, crying in pain.
"Mom, where did you find her?"
"A man brought her, he said Annie was left in a shipping container ready to go to Japan."
Sarah said in a trembling voice.
A man? Was it one of Hassan's men? Elena figured it out in her mind, about seventy to eighty percent sure.
While still heartbroken, she heard a voice from behind.
A soft voice echoed through the air.
"Elena..."
Elena turned around and met a pair of gentle eyes.
"William!"
Unable to hold back her tears, Elena staggered. It had only been a day, but seeing him now felt like there was an invisible chasm separating them.
"Ms. Ellington, I will take Elena to discuss Annie's condition in detail."
Sarah weakly waved her hand. "Go ahead."
"Come, Elena. Be strong."
William considerately said as he reached out and held Elena's cold hand, leading her out of the sickroom.
William wore a clean white coat, elegantly walking ahead of Elena.
On his handsome face, there was a tinge of melancholy. At that moment, he resembled a sorrowful archangel.
