Chapter 25 Flaunting Wealth, Superficial Women
In the pitch-black darkness, she was pressed down by that man, violently taking possession of her.
"No, no, no..."
Elena desperately resisted, but she couldn't break free from his grasp.
"No, no..." She cried out in agony.
Suddenly, she opened her eyes.
The bright light stung her eyes, and in the quiet girls' dormitory, she was the only one there.
Her back was already soaked with cold sweat. She sighed in relief. It was just a dream.
"Elena, you're awake!"
Evelyn squeezed through the door, holding an enamel bowl in her hands. She hurriedly placed the bowl on the table and sucked on her fingers, exclaiming with a frown, "It's so hot, it's burning me!"
The delicious smell of meat soup instantly filled the room, and Evelyn smiled happily.
"Girl, give me a smile! In honor of the sacrifice of my fingers."
"Noodle soup? I love noodle soup!"
"Eh, your dog-like nose is as sharp as ever! Come, come, eat while it's hot. I waited in line for half an hour to get this bowl of noodles. It's the weekend today, and it's as crowded as a market."
"Haha!" Elena couldn't help but laugh. "Evelyn, can you please not use such comparisons? Do we really have that many dogs here?"
"Hehe, it's just a random analogy. Come on, let's eat!"
Elena sat up, skipping brushing her teeth and washing her face, and directly lifted the enamel lid.
A familiar fragrance rushed towards her. On the smooth noodles, there was a slice of braised pork just like before, as well as two fried heart-shaped eggs.
This noodle soup shop was a Korean restaurant and the noodles were incredibly delicious, which could be seen in its presentation.
"This one is newly released, it's called 'Matching Hearts.' Look, doesn't it resemble you and William?"
Evelyn said carelessly. She had an intuitive feeling that Elena had a fight with William.
So, she purposely said this, hoping to make Elena come to a realization.
After hearing this, Elena paused.
Elena casually picked up the chopsticks and started eating without saying a word.
Were they deeply connected?
Would he go off to be deeply connected with someone else?
In the misty water vapor, Elena's tears fell down, drip by drip.
Evelyn was at a loss for words when she saw Elena devouring her food. After a moment, she finally reacted and took away the bowl of noodles.
"Elena, what are you doing?"
While Elena seemed to be enjoying her meal, her face was burning and her fingers hurt.
Elena lifted her head, her face filled with tears.
Evelyn was shocked and held onto Elena's shoulders. "Elena, what happened? Did William mistreat you? Tell me, I'll stand up for you."
Faced with this straightforward best friend, Elena was deeply moved. She suddenly threw herself into Evelyn's embrace and burst into tears.
Evelyn held onto Elena tightly, feeling her sadness and heartache.
She didn't say a word, just gently patted Elena's back.
The two of them had been classmates from elementary school to university and knew each other very well.
Elena was always like this. When she faced any grievances, she would release her pain through crying.
Just like that time when her father passed away, she cried so much.
The next day, she started a new day calmly.
After Elena's crying subsided, Evelyn asked with concern, "What's really going on?"
Elena wiped away her tears and shook her head gently. "It's nothing, Evelyn. I just feel so touched by how good you are to me."
Evelyn was taken aback and then burst into laughter.
After a moment, she suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "Oh, I saw your sister downstairs just now. She asked me to tell you to go down. Wow, her sports car is so cool, it must be worth millions."
Elena stood still. "Sports car?!"
Evelyn had a big smile on her face and nodded earnestly.
Without hesitation, Elena changed out of her pajamas and ran out of the door.
"Hey, you forgot your phone..." Evelyn reminded her.
Elena turned back and picked up her phone, took a look at it, and then threw it to Evelyn. "My phone is dead, could you please charge it for me?" After saying that, she hurriedly ran out of the building.
A sports car! How could Annie possibly have a sports car? Elena's anxiety began to rise.
Elena knew very well that her mother, Sarah, was a former star and although she occasionally scored a small role, she didn't make much money anymore. The Robinson family was undoubtedly wealthy, but she was only a mistress, not even recognized in England.
The Robinson family did not give Sarah any qualifications. They bought a villa in the city for Sarah, and gave her and her daughter a monthly allowance. Annie occasionally visited from the Robinson family in the UK, but her income was limited and she didn't have much pocket money.
On top of that, Sarah spent lots of money on beauty treatments and styling, so she didn't have any savings to speak of.
Therefore, Annie's sports car seemed very suspicious.
Elena's first thought was that it was related to the photo that was exposed online.
From a distance, she could see a brand new sports car shining brightly with its eye-catching red paint, and Annie sitting proudly in the driver's seat, enjoying the envious gazes of a group of girls.
When Elena hurriedly approached, Annie took off her sunglasses and waved her arm ostentatiously.
"Sister, how do you like my car? Isn't it beautiful? Oh, I also have 50 thousand dollars here, I'll buy you a new motorcycle as compensation for what I did to you last time."
The surrounding girls immediately started discussing, "Wow, I can't believe she is Elena's sister, she's really rich!"
"Tch, don't envy her, her mother is someone's mistress, so the money is dirty. I don't think Elena is any better."
These words reached Elena's ears and stung her nerves.
Annie became furious and jumped up. She rushed into the group of girls, shouting angrily, "Whoever dares to insult my sister, I'll beat you up!"
"That's enough!"
Elena's face turned red as she grabbed Annie's hand and pulled her towards a less crowded area.
The group of onlookers scattered.
Annie wouldn't let it go. "Sis, why are you so weak? Look how they've bullied you! Aren't you going to fight back?"
Elena furrowed her brow tightly. "Shut up, Annie. Don't you feel embarrassed enough? Do you have to bring up Mom's situation to make yourself happy?"
"What's wrong with Mom? It's her good fortune that Dad noticed her."
"Annie..." Elena looked at her younger sister with a pained expression. It was unhealthy for someone so young to have such a view of life.
"Fine, I won't discuss this with you anymore. Tell me, where did this car come from?"
Annie's eyebrows danced with joy, "I'll tell you. It was a gift from my big brother, Timothy. Haven't you always said that the Robinson family doesn't value me? Well, look at this rare sports car worth over ten million dollars, and they even gave me 50 thousand dollars pocket money. Sister, see? The Robinson family likes me and values me. I am the Robinson family's precious young lady."
Elena's eyes filled with deep concern. In the past, the Robinson family never paid much attention to their mother and her sister.
Last time, when Annie had acute appendicitis and nearly died, no one from the Robinson family came to visit, not even a single concerned phone call.
"Annie, didn't I tell you last time not to post our photos online? Why didn't you listen to me?" Elena said angrily.
"Oh, you mean the photo of the terrorist deal on the internet? Yes, I did it. That jerk pushed us off a cliff and almost drowned us. Why shouldn't I report him? Let me tell you, I did the right thing. Because of that incident, brother Timothy rushed back from the United States specifically to inquire about it." Annie replied confidently.
