Chapter 94 Disgusting Habits
In the photos, there were two women. They were either shopping or having coffee together. In one photo, they were even chatting on a busy street.
One of them was Julia, and the other was Chloe.
Looking at Chloe's smug face, Elena took a sharp breath. She had never understood why Julia was always against her, but now she finally understood that it was because of Chloe's instigation.
After a long time, Elena looked up at Hassan and asked again. "What does this mean?"
"As far as I know, Julia has benefited a lot from this woman. I suspect that she is plotting against you under this woman's influence. So, explain to me, why does this woman have a grudge against you?" Hassan's slender fingers tapped on Chloe's face in the photo.
"I..." Elena's face blushed slightly, "I don't know, maybe you're mistaken?"
"Did I make a mistake, or are you feeling guilty? This woman's boyfriend is the director of the Mayo Clinic. Could it be that you had some attraction towards him, and that's why she's going to such lengths to deal with you?"
Hassan sharply analyzed Elena's relationship with William.
Elena's heart pounded suddenly, as their relationship was somewhat tumultuous.
Elena couldn't deny that many times, when William gazed at her, she felt a beautiful sensation. It made her feel like she had returned to three years ago when she was still that innocent girl.
As long as Elena was around William, she could feel the sunshine and the spring breeze. That feeling was so comforting.
Even though she told herself that William had a girlfriend and she had Hassan now...
But it was all self-deception, just an excuse she invented to console herself while being in the presence of Hassan.
Now, the truth was mercilessly revealed by Hassan, and Elena was in a state of panic. "Hassan, did you kill Julia?"
"It doesn't matter who I killed. If I find out that you have any contact with Chloe's boyfriend, his fate will be the same as Julia's!" His eyes were cold and menacing.
Elena was shocked and distressed. If Hassan knew that she still had feelings for William, Hassan would surely harm William.
"No, you're making things up! Hassan, you're only finding excuses to prevent me from working. Now it's Chloe, and maybe there will be others in the future. As long as you want to confine me, you can find countless reasons."
Suddenly, Hassan grabbed Elena's collar, his eyes dark and frigid. "If you dare to step out of this door, I guarantee that they will suffer... unbearable fates!"
Elena looked at him in anguish, her eyes turning red. It was a pain so intense that it consumed her.
Threatened and intimidated like this, she felt completely defenseless.
The horrific image of Julia's death kept playing in her mind. She could almost see William being pushed into a corner. She couldn't see him being harmed because of her!
Hassan was already suspicious. If she stayed any longer, his sharp intuition would read even more into it.
She had to endure it. After all, there was only one month left.
If Elena held on a little longer, when the contract expired, she would be able to permanently rid herself of Hassan.
Elena resentfully glared at Hassan and turned weakly towards the master bedroom on the second floor. Her heart felt like a burning fire, tormenting her with pain.
"Miss Walker, breakfast is ready!" Noura walked in.
Elena slumped on the sofa, absentmindedly flipping through a book. "I don't want to eat! I have no appetite!"
"Miss Walker, don't be angry! It's actually alright not to go to work. It's more comfortable staying at home..."
"Noura!" Elena gave her a bitter look. "I'm feeling frustrated right now, please don't lecture me about these things, okay?"
"But not eating will make you hungry!"
"Noura, I just want some time alone!"
Meeting Elena's sorrowful gaze, Noura shook her head and sighed before leaving.
Outside the master bedroom, Hassan stood in silence, like a cold stone pillar.
"Master! Miss Walker refuses to eat!" Her voice was lowered.
Hassan's brows furrowed even more. "Bring in the breakfast!"
"Yes, master!"
Although she didn't understand what the master was planning to do next, from his expression, it was clear that something significant was about to happen. Noura felt deep worry rising in her heart.
The kitchen had been in chaos that morning, but it had been repaired in time. Thankfully, today's breakfast was already prepared and just needed to be reheated in the microwave. Noura brought it in.
On a delicate silver tray was triangle-shaped bacon and cheese pizza slices, a cup of hot milk, and a bowl of oatmeal. It was light, nutritious, and suited Elena's taste.
Noura carefully carried the exquisite tray and approached Hassan.
"Master, it's ready!"
Hassan gave her a fleeting glance and strode towards the master bedroom.
Elena had the blanket covering her face, stubbornly refusing to look at him.
As heavy footsteps came closer, her blanket was abruptly pulled off by him.
"Get up, it's time to eat!"
Hassan took the tray from Noura's hands and slammed it heavily on the table, causing milk to splash all over.
His large hand forcefully lifted Elena off the bed by her arm and threw her onto the sofa. He pushed the milk towards her.
"Drink it!"
His voice was icy and commanding, his actions rough. His grip on Elena's arm hurt, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Elena stared at Hassan angrily. "I won't drink it!"
"Drink it! I'm only saying it once!"
Hassan was now like a ruthless tyrant, demanding that Elena finish the milk before her.
Elena suddenly grabbed the milk cup and forcefully hurled it towards Hassan's face. "Hassan, you Brute! I won't drink it! What do you want from me?"
"Ah!" Noura exclaimed softly upon witnessing this scene.
The milky liquid flowed down his handsome face, creating a mess on his shirt and suit. Noura hurriedly handed him a napkin, but Hassan didn't accept it, instead growling, "Get out!"
Noura glanced at Elena, worryingly retreated, realizing that peaceful communication was impossible today.
Why did two people who loved each other end up arguing for no reason when they were together?
Hassan was in a sorry state, yet he didn't even notice it. He tightly squeezed Elena's arm with one hand while holding a fork in the other, spearing a piece of pizza.
"If you don't finish this breakfast for me, believe me when I say I can shut down Mayo Clinic right now and make all of your colleagues unemployed."
Hassan's words carried immense force, and his dark eyes shimmered with a crazed light.
Elena knew he wasn't just saying it.
This man, in order to win a motorcycle, dared to gamble with his own reputation.
In order to protect Elena from being harmed, an unarmed woman was killed. Hassan is a demonic figure without humanity, conscience, or moral integrity.
Elena glared at Hassan with watery eyes, her anger burning within. She fought back the urge to cry, her body trembling uncontrollably. If she had a knife at that moment, she would plunge it into Hassan's wicked heart without hesitation...
No, she couldn't do that. She couldn't jeopardize William...
Facing Hassan's intimidating gaze, Elena had no choice but to bow her head in humiliation. Opening her mouth, she allowed Hassan to stuff a piece of pizza inside. She took a small bite, and it tasted so salty... Tears mixed with the pizza as she chewed it hastily, the salty and bitter flavor constantly assaulting her nerves.
Finally seeing Elena eating, Hassan released his grip, paying no attention to the pizza stains on his chin and neck. He sat there, upright, watching Elena eat.
"Drink the porridge!" Hassan commanded coldly. Elena, through her blurry teary eyes, lifted the small porcelain bowl and drank the porridge, bit by bit.
Elena frowned in pain, as if the bowl contained a toxic substance capable of destroying her very core.
He kept staring at Elena until she finished every last bit of food in the bowl, then he stood up.
"Noura!"
"Yes, master!"
"Keep an eye on her..." He ordered coldly before walking into the bathroom.
Elena slumped on the sofa, not uttering a word. Her eyes were already swollen, and she didn't even lift her head, yet she sensed when Hassan emerged from the bathroom and headed towards the dressing room. He seemed to pause briefly in front of her before striding out.
Being with Hassan, Elena didn't even have basic human rights. he forced her to eat, kept her under casual house arrest, and subjected her to his sexual desires as he pleased.
A strong bitterness filled Elena's heart. She wanted to escape, to run far away, and never see Hassan again.
Noura finished tidying up the table and stood before Elena.
"Miss Walker, the master is afraid that you might starve. Please don't defy him!"
Elena slouched on the sofa, unmoving. "Did he ask you to watch over me and forbid me from leaving?"
She was nothing more than Hassan's pet dog. If Hassan wanted her confined, he would confine her. If he wanted to set her free, he would set her free. He never sought her opinion or cared about her feelings.
"Miss Walker, the master asked me to watch over you because he knows you're angry and he's afraid you might do something extreme. Don't misunderstand, he never said you couldn't leave here."
"He won't even let me go to work."
"Miss Walker, that place is full of conflicts and offers no benefits to your career development."
"Thank you, Noura."
After sitting for a while longer, Elena's phone suddenly rang. She answered it. "Hello, Elena speaking."
"Elena, it's me, Evelyn! Today, William called me and informed me that I have an interview at Mayo Clinic. Elena, thank you so much for helping me, I'll take care of everything right away." Evelyn's voice sounded particularly cheerful on the phone.
However, Elena felt very sad inside. "Congratulations, Evelyn!"
"Elena, what's wrong with you? You sound upset."
"Well... I might have to resign."
"No way, Elena! Are you crazy? You were doing so well. Why are you leaving as soon as I arrive? I thought we could work together!" Evelyn was puzzled, hoping to work with Elena from now on.
"Evelyn... I'll talk to you about it later. Goodbye!" Elena weakly hung up the phone.
"Miss Walker, how about I accompany you to see your mother?" Noura suggested.
