Chapter 18 Remembering One's Promise

This damn woman still hasn't figured out the situation and dares to bring up that day.
"Fine, fine, I was wrong, please give me the amethyst back." Elena changed her expression into a smiling face, feeling extremely servile.
"It's too late!"
Hassan's voice carried a strong texture as he let out a cold snort. "I actually planned to return it to you, but now I've changed my mind. Obviously you don't need it."
Elena was frustrated! This man changes his attitude faster than turning a page. He must be doing it intentionally!
"So, what do I have to do to get it back?" Elena was on the verge of tears.
A hint of satisfaction flashed in Hassan's dark eyes.
"If you want it so badly, come find me at the Bay of Paris within three days."
After saying this, Hassan smirked devilishly. He ignored Elena's pleas and nonchalantly closed the car window before quickly driving away.
Elena was extremely annoyed as she watched the black car disappear into the night.
"Oh, I wondered who it was, meeting a man in the middle of the night like this. Elena, you truly are promiscuous!"
A mocking voice came from behind.
Elena turned around, only to find three pretty classmates jumping out from behind the bushes.
Elena stared at them dumbfoundedly. "When did you all get here?"
"Elena, tell us, are you seducing Senior William?" Scarlett pointed her finger, adorned with red nail polish, at Elena's nose with a derogatory tone.
Elena forcefully pushed her hand away. "Nonsense, i I really have no idea what you're talking about."
As she turned to leave, Scarlett and Natalie blocked her path.
"Elena, I'm warning you, stay away from Senior William in the future or we won't be nice to you."
Scarlett and Natalie were both a year above Elena and were notorious spoiled brats in school. They held the status of being the second generation of officials and often bullied the underclassmen.
Elena was not a pushover and not keen on letting others manipulate her. She raised her chin and smirked. "What does it have to do with you guys about my relationship with senior William? If you have the guts, let's compete and see who can win him over first."
Although she has always liked senior William, she never pursued him explicitly. And she just found out that senior William was interested in her, so she gained some confidence and courage because of love.
"Haha! You, a bastard, want to chase after William? Senior sister, did you hear that? This ugly girl is so arrogant. Looks like I need to teach her a lesson," Scarlett said extremely arrogantly, preparing to fight.
Chloe's figure stood in front of Elena.
"You all, leave!"
Chloe's tone was very firm, which surprised Scarlett and Natalie. Today, Chloe was the one who brought them here to find senior William.
But they happened to see William and Elena intimately holding hands.
They were ready to teach Elena a lesson, but Chloe reacted in a way that no one expected.
As they faced each other, Chloe glared at Elena.
Scarlett quickly grabbed Natalie's hand. "Chloe, don't be angry. I will leave right away."
Chloe's dad was a City Council member, and Scarlett and Natalie's dads were under his management. That's why they always referred to Chloe as senior sister. However, Chloe went to study in the United States two years ago and just came back in the past few days.
Watching Scarlett and Natalie quickly disappear into the night, Chloe raised her chin. She was wearing the latest Chanel dress, blending European and American styles, making her appear fashionable and elegant.
Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes arrogantly scanned Elena.
Wearing high heels, she looked down on Elena.
"Your name is 'Elena'? Is that right?"
Elena nodded. This was the first time she'd seen Chloe. Although she didn't know her identity, she understood from Scarlett's words that Chloe wasn't a simple girl.
Chloe chuckled. "Listen, from now on, stay away from William. Got it?"
"Why?" Elena calmly asked.
Chloe played with her beautifully decorated diamond nails and sneered. "The whole world knows that William is mine. He's handsome right? No wonder a stupid freshman like you likes him! Acting so foolish..."
"Hehe, that's really funny. I don't care who you are, you don't have the right to warn me. It's late at night so I don't have time to chat with you. Goodbye!"
Elena smiled playfully, gracefully turned around, and ran away.
Man, although she looked pretty, she was actually foolish. She thought she was amazing just because she had money. And she even said that William was hers, how ridiculous!
'But I won't let it happen. I just like William, that's it!
"Elena!"
Chloe stomped her foot angrily but Elena ignored her and continued to leave.
'Elena, you little slut, I will definitely give you a hard time.'
At night, Elena laid on her bed, listening to music with her headphones on. After a while, she took off her headphones and nudged Evelyn, who was playing games.
"Evelyn, do you know who that senior sister is?"
"Senior sister? What senior sister?"
"The one Scarlett and her gang of girls call senior sister."
"Oh, that. I've heard a bit about it. It seems like she's called Chloe. I heard her dad is a high-ranking official and her mom is in the military! That girl is super arrogant, I heard she even hit the head teacher in high school and caused a big fuss. But I also heard she went abroad."
'Just the descendant of an official? What's there to be afraid of? Hmph, I'm not scared!'
The next morning, Elena sat by the rockery in the school backyard, reading a book. On the stone table beside her, there was a steaming cup of milk and a box of sandwiches, breakfast bought by Evelyn.
She ate and read, the morning air was so pleasant.
Suddenly, a burst of laughter came and Elena instinctively looked up.
Scarlett and Natalie were laughing while standing together. In the distance, Chloe was sitting on top of the rockery, leisurely watching.
Elena closed her book and picked up her cup of milk, ready to leave.
But when she glanced into the cup, she screamed and dropped the cup from her hand.
In that white milk, there were two green fuzzy caterpillars floating, wriggling their fat bodies while swimming.
"Ah!" Elena was terrified, and she turned to look at the sandwich, which also had a few chubby worms crawling on it.
Within an instant, she was furious. "You, you are going too far!"
"Oh, you're shouting so loudly. Do you want someone to come and save you?" Natalie shielded Scarlett and Scarlett took out a short knife from her sleeve, with a twisted smile on her face.
"Wow, such a pretty face. If I cut it, you'll definitely behave, right?"
Scarlett advanced with the knife, scaring Elena enough to make her step back. She didn't expect these two girls to be so bold, daring to commit violence in broad daylight at school!
In the distance, Chloe saw all this and a smug smile appeared on her beautiful face.
"Scarlett, you're crazy! Do you know what you're doing?" Elena shouted. Scarlett smirked at Natalie and they both approached Elena slowly.
The bright tip of the knife was almost about to stab Elena's face.
Suddenly, a deep voice rang out.
"Stop!"
Elena snapped back to reality and William had already pushed Scarlett and Natalie away, protecting Elena behind him.
"What are you doing to Elena?" William asked with concern.
Scarlett and Natalie exchanged a glance and smiled at William. "William, we were just playing a game with Elena, don't be mad." Scarlett said.
"Hehe, Elena, quickly tell William that we're practicing the new script for school." Scarlett winked at Elena.
But Elena ignored them and turned to leave.
Chloe, who had been sitting on the rockery, stood up and quickly ran to William's side. She called out in a coquettish voice.
"Big brother William!"
On Chloe's beautiful face, there was a bright smile as she cutely stood in front of William.
"Big brother William, you left without a sound, went back to America all by yourself, and didn't even tell me. I had a hard time looking for you." Chloe complained.
Tenderness filled her eyes as she reached out her small hand to grab William's big one.
William remained calm and gently pushed away Chloe's outstretched hand.
