Chapter 75 Who Set the Candy Trap

It was then that Elena noticed the surroundings were no longer the backyard of her home but a natural forest connected to the beach. Moonlight seeped through the dense forest, revealing mottled and colorful circles of light.

Under the faint silver shine, the young man slowly approached her.

The young man had a very beautiful and enchanting face, with delicate features. He seemed like a royal nobleman who had stepped out of an ancient mural. He had beautiful eyes, and he wore a red British-style checkered casual shirt on his upper body. His messy brown short hair was styled in a fashionable way, and he wore a peculiar pair of wide-legged trousers...

In short, this man gave off a carefree yet handsome and lazy aristocratic vibe...

A pair of brown eyes stared at Elena’s small face, unabashedly examining her.

"Not bad, not bad! A very clean, little white rabbit. No wonder Hassan goes crazy for you!"

He said it jokingly, but the barrel of the gun in his hand didn't move and remained pressed against Elena’s temple.

"You're a brave woman!"

"Who are you? What do you want?" Elena was extremely nervous. She never expected that someone would dare to infiltrate under Hassan's watch and attempt to kidnap her. Moreover, Hassan's men seemed to have not noticed.

"Who am I? You've taken pictures of me and still don't know who I am?"

Elena looked at him blankly, "I don't know who you are. Could you have mistaken me for someone else!?"

"Of course not! Hassan killed two of my brothers for you. How could I mistake you? And you've caused me a lot of trouble. How could I forget you?"

"You... are you from the B&R Gang?" Elena’s mind went blank. She vaguely recalled Hassan mentioning this matter, but she didn't dare confirm the identity of this man!

"Joseph, put down your gun!"

A cold voice came from behind Elena.

Joseph? Elena was shocked, instantly remembering this man's name.

Instead of releasing his grip, Joseph held Elena tightly in his arms and continued to press the gun against her temple. He faced the direction from which Hassan was approaching.

"Mr. Al-Farouk, long time no see. You're still doing well, it seems! It's different for me. I'm always being chased by Interpol, unable to conduct business and living on the edge every day!"

"Let her go! What's the matter with me?" Hassan's voice was deep and cold, his pitch-black eyes fixed firmly on Joseph's face.

The silver handgun in Joseph's hand gleamed with a cold and ruthless light in the moonlight.

"Let her go? Why should I? Aren't the lives of my two brothers lost in vain?" Joseph's tone was filled with a chilling anger.

Unfazed, Hassan walked up to Joseph, "I killed your brothers. It has nothing to do with this woman."

"Ridiculous! Don't think that just because I wasn't present, I don't know that you turned against me because of this woman. Our years of collaboration have been ruined by a single woman. Today, I'm going to eliminate this obstacle."

Elena suddenly realized that Joseph was the terrorist who kidnapped Annie and subjected her to humiliation.

She trembled with anger, forgetting her fear. She suddenly turned around, her blue rose falling from her hand. She stared at Joseph intensely, surrounded by a strong tide of fury.

"Are you the bastard who kidnapped my sister?"

Joseph stared at her silently. This woman had audacity, speaking to him in such a tone even after being kidnapped.

"Bastard!" Elena raised her small hand and slapped Joseph's face. "You scum, beast, and rogue. What did Annie do to offend you? Why do you want to lead her to her death...?"

Before Joseph could react, Elena swung her fists at him.

"Scum, give my sister back, you owe me my sister! She's only eighteen..."

Elena went berserk, desperately attacking Joseph.

Joseph couldn't defend himself, continuously retreating. He ended up in a sorry state, enduring several blows from Elena.

Seemingly, this woman wasn't to be trifled with. Not only was she daring, but she was also exceptionally fierce.

Joseph stumbled and was tripped by a tree root, falling backward. Elena straddled him and continued to strike with her clenched fists.

"Scum, scum! Give me back my sister, you owe me my sister!"

Joseph covered his face, trying to evade. "Don't hit my face!"

Hassan coldly chuckled and lifted Elena off Joseph.

"That's enough!" he sternly ordered. Elena couldn't calm down and pushed and resisted Hassan with both hands. "Let me go, I want to kill him..."

Hassan pinched Elena's chin and growled softly, "Not him!"

Only then did Elena calm down. "What did you say? Not him?"

Not him? The person who harmed Annie wasn't him? Or was it that he wasn't Joseph? Elena was confused. Hassan released Elena and said, "Don't meddle in our affairs. Nabil, take her back!"

"I'm not leaving. I want to know who harmed Annie!"

Hassan glanced at her and turned back. "Rest assured, I will give you an explanation."

Finally, Elena stared at Joseph in aggravation.

Joseph followed behind Nabil towards the villa. Halfway, Elena suddenly asked, "Nabil, how did you all let this happen? You didn't even know someone had infiltrated?"

Nabil glanced at her calmly and replied, "Miss Walker, Joseph is the master's business partner. We cannot simply drive him away."

"But he just held me hostage!"

"Miss Walker, he was only bluffing. The master would never let any harm come to you."

Elena fell silent, knowing that Hassan always appeared when needed.

Under the moonlight, the forest was quiet, with the sound of tides in the distance.

Suddenly, Hassan swiftly stepped in front of Joseph, a small black pistol pressed against his chest.

Joseph reacted a beat too slow, his hand reaching for his gun, but was ruthlessly kicked by Hassan, causing his knee to bend and his entire body to be pinned to the ground, the gun now pointed at the back of his head.

In pain, Joseph raised his hands and pleaded, "Hey, take it easy!"

"Easy? If you dare to point a gun at my woman again, you won't have a life."

"Alright, boss, my bad. You invaded my territory for no reason last time, killed my brother, and I did nothing. How can you treat me this way?"

"Yes! That's why I said next time, not now!" Hassan said coldly.

The pressure in Hassan's hand intensified, causing Joseph to cry out in pain, while the few bodyguards in the distance dared not come any closer.

"Okay, I was wrong, boss. This time, I came to make peace with you. I think we should talk..."

Half an hour later, in the brightly lit and luxurious living room, Joseph sat comfortably on the sofa and listened as Hassan calmly explained the situation with the photos.

Joseph slammed the bottle of alcohol onto the table, his face filled with righteous anger. "So it was Timothy who instigated this? That sly bastard! Damn it, I fell for it!"

"So this is how it happened? After that incident, I was targeted by Interpol and wandered in Italy, afraid to return to the country... When the heat died down, I rushed back and found out about what happened... You're saying Elena's sister was raped by my men?"

Hassan stared coldly at him and said, "It was more than just rape! She later had a mental breakdown and committed suicide by jumping off a building. You figure out what to do with that, that girl was only eighteen!"

"Those bastards! They did something like this while I was away! I'm going to investigate immediately and find out who the scum is."Joseph said angrily.

Although B&R Gang was an underground organization, they had their own rules and code of conduct. While involved in illicit arms trade, Joseph was a man of honor and would never tolerate his men committing such despicable acts like rape.

Hassan merely stared at him coldly, his eyes filled with a hidden message.

Joseph will not give up until he can give Elena a reasonable answer. That night, Elena couldn't sleep well; constantly hearing Hassan and Joseph talking in the living room, but she couldn't make out their words. Early in the morning, she got up to find that Hassan was no longer there. Did he simply let Joseph go so easily?

"Miss Walker, good morning! Breakfast is ready!" Noura came out of the dining room, smiling.

Elena shook her head. "Where is Joseph?"

"I'm not sure. It seems like he left last night."

"He left?" Elena was furious. She knew very well that Joseph, the scumbag, was the culprit behind Annie's suffering, and yet Hassan let him go.

As she walked into the garden, Elena saw Joseph standing with Hassan, engaged in a heated argument. Several unfamiliar bodyguards stood beside them, likely Joseph's men. When Hassan noticed Elena approaching, he stopped and said softly, "She's here, explain it to her yourself."

Joseph turned around and suddenly grabbed one of the bodyguards with a black hat, pulling him towards Elena.

"Kneel!" Joseph forced the guard with the black hat to kneel in front of Elena.

"Regarding your sister's situation, I'm sorry. I wasn't there at the time since I was wandering abroad. Hassan and I have been partners for many years, and no matter what happens, we are still good brothers. So, I investigated this matter thoroughly. I have identified three people who harmed your sister, and two of them have already been killed by Mr. Al-Farouk. Now, there's one person left. It's up to you how to deal with him..."

The guard with the black hat knelt before Elena, weeping and begging, "Miss Walker, I didn't know it was your sister. I beg for your forgiveness, please have mercy on me this time. I promise I won't dare again."

Elena looked at him coldly, feeling even more distressed. The humiliation her sister endured was more painful than anything she had experienced herself.

Joseph directly handed a gun to Elena. "It's up to you, I won't interfere."

Elena gripped the gun with both hands and slowly aimed at the guard's heart.
