Chapter 61 The Robinson family

"What in the world! Are you blind?" Noura was extremely annoyed. Not only was she covered in dog's blood, but she was also mistaken for a mistress. What a stroke of bad luck.

"I'm sorry, I really am blind. It's my mistake. Let me wipe it off for you..."

The chubby woman approached with a cloth in hand, ready to wipe, but Noura quickly hid inside the car. "Alright, alright, don't come any closer."

Her phone was also wet, rendering it useless. Covered in dog's blood, dirty and foul-smelling, Noura had no choice but to drive away first.

Half an hour later, Noura returned wearing clean clothes and with a different phone. She dialed Elena's number, but to her surprise, Elena's phone was turned off.

She realized something was wrong and immediately got out of the car, rushing to the front gate of the house, desperately knocking.

"Who is it?"

The person who opened the door was none other than the chubby woman who had drenched her in dog's blood, wearing a smug expression.

"Where is Elena?"

"Ah, you mean the young miss of our house? She left a long time ago!" Melissa said with pride. Noura forcefully pushed Melissa aside and barged into the house, searching upstairs and downstairs, but there was no sign of Elena.

She grabbed Melissa's collar, demanding, "Where did Elena go?"

Melissa chuckled, "Do you think I'm naive? Why would I tell you about Miss Walker going to England?"

Noura smirked, released her grip on Melissa, and turned around to leave.

"Master, I'm sorry. Miss Walker escaped under my surveillance. It seems she went to England."

"What?" the voice on the other end of the phone exclaimed in rage.

"I'm sorry, Master, I'm willing to be punished..."

"Go and bring her back immediately! Otherwise, don't bother coming back."

Hassan's fury sent chills down everyone's spines. Noura understood the gravity of the situation. After ending the call, she drove straight to the airport.

At this moment, Elena's plane had just taken off. To avoid Hassan, she deliberately bought a ticket to the nearest city, C City, from where she would take a bus to England without any hindrance.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, Elena arrived in England on time. Following her mother's provided address of the Robinson family, Elena took a taxi and quickly found the Robinson family villa situated in the affluent area of England.

At the Robinson family's entrance gate, Elena stood in front of the security guard. "Hello, I would like to see Granpa Robinson. Could you please inform him?"

The security guard scrutinized Elena from head to toe. Typically, people who came to see the old master either drove fancy cars or arrived in helicopters. How could someone come in a taxi?

"Are you a journalist from a newspaper?" the security guard immediately guessed.

"Journalist? No, I'm not a journalist! My name is Elena, and I'm here to visit your old master."

The security guard rolled his eyes. "You're not a journalist? Then stay away. Do you think my old master is available to anyone who just shows up?"

The security guard's authoritative stance made Elena nostalgically think of the guards and servants at her own home. Though they were all subordinates, no one ever dared to show even a hint of contempt towards Elena.

The difference in quality is simply worlds apart.

"Step aside, move further away, and don't obstruct our work."

The security guard stood with his hands behind his back, ignoring them.

Elena had an idea and handed the jade bracelet her mother had given her to the guard.

"Big brother security guard, could you please give this to Grandpa Robinson? This is a token he gave me, and when he sees this, he will come to see me."

Being a security guard in a wealthy family, he immediately recognized the valuable jade bracelet. His attitude changed and he smiled warmly.

"Miss, please wait here for a moment. Let me go in and ask."

Elena politely smiled and nodded, "Thank you, I appreciate it!"

Actually, she hadn't planned to see anyone from the Robinson family and was thinking of just taking Annie away. But upon further consideration, she realized it wouldn't work, so it would be better to follow her mother's suggestion and meet with Grandpa Robinson first.

The guard entered the villa with Elena's jade bracelet. After about ten minutes or so, he hurriedly ran back with a slightly nervous expression.

Elena looked over and asked, "How did it go?"

The guard came out, smiling, "The master agrees to see you. Please come in!"

Elena heaved a sigh of relief. The long journey had not been in vain.

"Follow me!"

Elena happily followed behind the guard and entered through the grand iron gate. The Robinson family's villa was very luxurious, built in the style of ancient Greek architecture. Rare orchids lined both sides of the pathway.

A few meters away, black-suited bodyguards wearing sunglasses stood like wooden stakes next to the pillars.

Elena's knowledge of the Robinson family was only from her mother's words or Annie's chit-chat.

The Robinson family was very wealthy, and Grandpa Robinson used to be a leader in the British financial industry, with investments extending to several countries in East Asia.

Moreover, the Robinson family had strict manners and a low-profile lifestyle, rarely appearing in newspapers.

That's why Annie's actions had made the Robinson family very angry this time.

As Elena walked further inside, she became more and more uneasy.

Suddenly, she turned around and noticed two more bodyguards behind her. Elena stopped and asked, "Where does Grandpa Robinson live?"

Even she, who was not very clever, could tell that this seemed like the backyard of the villa.

"He lives in this room!" the guard pointed to a room behind a golden door in front of them.

Elena glanced back at the two bodyguards and quickly followed the guard.

At the entrance of the room, the guard stopped and said, "Miss Walker, the master is waiting for you inside. Please come in!"

Elena nodded and pushed open the door, hesitatingly stepping inside the room.

The room was spacious, filled with antique mahogany furniture, and the air was filled with a hint of fruity fragrance.

Elena's gaze shifted towards the large bed deep in the room, and it seemed like someone was lying on it. Could it be Grandpa Robinson? She took step by step towards it, but suddenly heard the sound of the door closing behind her. When she turned around, the wooden door was already shut tight.

Unaware of the impending danger, Elena pondered for a moment and decided to proceed towards the bed.

"Grandpa Robinson!" She approached the bed and softly called out twice, but there was no response. Puzzled, she moved closer to take a look. On the large bed, there were only two embroidered silk quilts, and not a trace of any person.

Realizing she had been deceived, she immediately retreated to the doorway and tried to open the room. However, she felt the door was already locked from the outside. This is bad; she had fallen into a trap!

"Open the door, open it!" Elena desperately pounded on the door.

The security guard outside replied, "Miss Elena, Madam said you are a thief, accused of stealing the master's jade bracelet. You'll be dealt with once the master returns. Just stay here quietly!"

Elena was shocked and fell to the ground. Indeed, the Robinson family was not a place to mess with. She had walked right into Daria's trap. What would this ruthless old woman do to her? Elena suddenly regretted not calling William Spencer before coming here. At least if she died here, someone would know. Now, it's all over!

Unable to find any trace of Annie but instead getting herself trapped, what should she do? Elena had never expected Daria to be so ruthless. She was kept confined for three days without anyone bringing her food. She was so hungry she had to drink tap water desperately.

To prevent Hassan from harassing her, she intentionally left her phone at her mom's house. So besides her mother, no one knew she was at the Robinson family. Even if she died, no one would find out.

On the third night, Elena was already weak from hunger and felt dizzy. She could barely muster the strength to lean on the table.

In the beginning, for the first two days, she could yell for help at the door every now and then. As time passed, she gradually lost hope and no longer had the strength to knock.

When she was in a daze, suddenly there was a sound of footsteps outside. With the clanging sound of a lock, Elena began to regain her senses. The lights in the room turned on as an unfamiliar old woman, surrounded by two bodyguards, entered.

The old woman was very thin, but she wore an exquisitely tailored dark red dress. High cheekbones and deep-set hawk-like eyes emitted a chilling glare. On her thin arms, she wore a pair of exquisite bracelets. Her chestnut hair, though permed and dyed, had gray at the temples, indicating old age.

Elena suddenly realized that this old woman was Daria. Despite her carefully applied makeup, it was still obvious that she was ageing.

She skillfully concealed the deep wrinkles on her face and the obvious crow's feet at the corners of her eyes. Compared to this old woman, Elena realized that her mother was truly naturally beautiful, with a mesmerizing appearance...

Not only was this woman elderly, but she was also domineering, clearly the type of resentful woman who had not received her husband's favor for years.

Daria stared at Elena for a long time before waving her hand lightly, causing the two bodyguards to bow their heads and leave.

Once the door closed, only the two of them remained in the room, and the atmosphere became somewhat oppressive.

"So, you're the daughter of that bitch?"

Daria's tone was both dominant and disdainful.

Elena chuckled lightly, "I've heard people say that the Robinson family is a symbol of the British upper class, that the Robinson family members have manners and temperament... but it seems that the rumors outside are all false."

Daria sneered and sat in front of Elena, "What an eloquent woman, just like that bitch back then. I really don't know what the old master saw in you all."

As she heard Daria repeatedly calling her and her mother "bitches," anger surged within Elena, making her want to erupt.

"Mrs. Robinson, I came to England not for the grudges between your generation. No matter what happened between you all back then, it's all in the past. I came to see my sister, Annie."

Daria let out a scoff, forcefully slamming a jade bracelet, a Robinson family heirloom, onto the table, and angrily said, "Cunning girl, this bracelet was passed down in the Robinson family. The old master gave it to your mother back then. Now that you have this bracelet, it can only mean that you want the old master to reminisce about the past and bring your mother into our family, isn't it?"

Elena was stunned; the situation had taken a completely unexpected turn.

"No, you've misunderstood! What I meant was, without this bracelet, the security wouldn't have let me in. I just wanted to see my sister. My mother is sick and she wants to talk to Annie on the phone. Once we're done with the call, I'll leave, alright?"

Daria sneered mockingly, "Do you take me for a fool? If I let you see that little bitch, you would definitely scheme against her. Tell that bitch, the Robinson family will no longer give her a single penny from now on. Let her stop using the old master's reputation to deceive others for money."

"If it weren't for her giving birth to that bastard, I would've killed her already. She even deludes herself into thinking she can see her child. She brought this on herself and she should bear the bitter consequences. Can't blame anyone else."

Daria's words were filled with resentment and sarcasm, venting all the pain she had felt over her husband's betrayal throughout these years onto Elena.

Being unreasonably imprisoned by her and now facing such insults, Elena felt extremely displeased.

"Don't go too far. If it weren't for you failing to manage your own husband back then, how could my mother have gotten caught up in this whirlpool? Do you think the Robinson family is so great? As if anyone would willingly come in. If it weren't for finding Annie, I wouldn't bother stepping foot into your house."
