Chapter 27 The Acceptance

Nikolai turned to me. I turned my face to him.
I was stunned when he unexpectedly wiped away my tears.
"You look better when you smile than when you cry!" And his hand stocked in my face.
His finger frequently dabbed the tears that were still dripping from my eyes.
"Are you not hysterical at me?" I forcefully asked.
"Why would I be hysterical?" Nikolai also begged.
"Because I have not been honest with TvN8 Station regarding my child. Then people are angry with me because I told an untruth.
Love Hotline's ratings will drop down with the headline about me. What will I do?
It is all my fault! And I am sorry if I damaged your company." I said continuously.
I stopped because Nikolai held my hand.
"I admire you! Yes! I admire you, even more, when you say you raised your child alone.
And I have proven you are a different kind of woman. Some women will just have an abortion. Or put the baby in an orphanage.
But you, you chose to keep your child. Your courage is incredible!" Nikolai's litany.
"I only have her. I have lost too many people in my life. I was able to get through it all because of my child.
I learned all my strengths the moment I carried her in my arms." I squeezed Nikolai's hand.
I feel like I do not care what anyone else would say. It was enough to hear that Nikolai was not furious with me.
And he adores me as a mother. As a woman.
"He left you? After what happened?" Nikolai's face was serious.
"I do not know how to explain it to you! I do not have a boyfriend. I have no husband.
The only thing that matters is that I can take care of my child. I can protect her from people who want to take her away from me." I announced.
He will not understand me! Maybe it is even manageable to say that the one who got me pregnant left me.
Nikolai led me back inside the building. It was as if a thorn had pulled me out.

I am stronger than him! Why did he say that? Perhaps because of the woman he loves.

Nikolai is not furious about it and he did not fire me." I smiled.

"Watch Jarvis. He has an interview, hurry up!" Ms. Beth said.
King turned on the television.
"Jarvis, what can you say about Eve's confession that she has a child?" Question of the host.
"A child is a blessing! And I am happy for Eve." Jarvis replied smiling.
"I heard you are dating, what are your plans now?" she asked again.
"I have no plans to stop. I would rather get to know Eve more. Honestly, I do not look after her past.
Today is the most important part. Even though I was annulled. But I am single now.
If Eve accepts me into her life, I will take care of her and her child." Jarvis looked at the camera.
"That is thrilling! Are you courting her?" The host begged again.
"I will take this opportunity to say it. Eve, if you are watching, give me a chance to be part of your life. Let me prove my sincerity!" Jarvis announced.
"Wow! He is going to court you!" fascinated Sittie said.
I was shaken. What did Jarvis say? Is he going crazy? Why did he say that on National Television?
"My vote still goes to Sir Nikolai," Lara whispered.
"What are you saying?" I also have a weak question.
"The CEO likes you. You asked me to find out who delivered the shoes to you. That was Sir Nikolai!
Then he got a haircut and shaved because you said so. He accepted that you have a child. Even if that is what you are anxious about." Lara explained.
And I am grateful for that. But I was also troubled by what Jarvis said on national television.
Never have crossed my mind that Jarvis would court me.

"Eve, I am sorry. We have to go to the province." Ella let out.
"Yes, Ella, I understand. Be careful. Here, give it to your relatives." I handed her an envelope.

Aunt Ellie's brother died. So suddenly they had to go home to the province.

"Lara, why?" when I answered the call.
"Eve, you have to go here. Kisses are getting agitated. She denounced Director Luis for canceling your taping today.
She is insisting that you must go here and do the shoot." she explained worriedly.
"How can I come, Lara? No one will take care of Nicks." I bothered.
"Bring Nicks here. We will take care of Nicks. I will be in charge of her.
All right, come here. We were already stressed with Kisses' behavior. So that we can see Nicks too." she tried to convince.
I could do nothing but arrange Nicks' things and bring her with me.
"Brother Ricco, I am sorry. I have to rush going to TvN8 Station." When we were in the car.
"It is okay, Eve! I am not doing anything at home either. I am just waiting for your call." He retorted.
Brother Ricco is reliable. He is our neighbor and I hired him as my driver.
He has two children and no regular job. I want to help them somehow.
"Nicks, be good at Mommy's office. Just behave." I reminded her.
"Yes, Mommy! I will be good," she answered with a smile.
And I groomed her hair while we were still on the way to TvN8 Station.
"Nicks is a pretty girl. She positively inherited it from you." Sittie while caressing Nicks' face.
"Or should I say, she looks like her Daddy?" she added.
"Yes, Mommy is my Daddy too so we look alike." Nicks suddenly spoke.
She has long hair. I just put on a headband with a ribbon design. Then she wore a black blouse and a baby pink tutu skirt. She is wearing white sneakers.
At an early age, I could see that Nicks is going to be a lovely lady when she grows up!
"Do not ask her, she answers truthfully and frankly." I laugh whispering to them.
"You are a bright girl. And looks lovely too." Said Lara.
"Just like my Mom!" And she still smiled.
We all laughed.
"She is so alert!" King said.
"So, is she your child?" When Kisses suddenly arrived.
We halted laughing.
"Baby, come!" I called Nicks.
Kisses looked at her as if she had no affection for the child.
"Are you the witch? You look scary!" Nicks mumbled abruptly.
She fondled me.
"What?" Kisses' eyes widened.
"Yes, you are. Mommy, I am scared of the witch." Nicks squeezed her body even harder on me.
"Shut her up!" Reprimanded by Kisses.
"No, Baby, she is not a witch. She is Kisses. What a sweet name, right?" I tried to calm Nicks down.
"I am beautiful to look like a witch in your eyes!" she scolded Nicks.
"Just the way you speak, you are like a monster!" Nicks even showed off like a roaring tiger.
We all chuckled.
Kisses was annoyed and she headed to the wardrobe area.
"Oh my gosh! She is telling the truth. You cannot let the child tell an untruth." and Lara cracked up again.
"Why? Witches are like her. Her eyes are widened. She would want to eat me." and Nicks covered her face.
"You see, Eve, your daughter can irritate Kisses that much," King mumbled.
"I told you, Nicks is frank!
Hey, Baby, stop calling her a witch. She might get mad at you.
Just stay here while Mommy does her job.
Is it clear?" I reminded her.
"Yes, Mommy, it is clear!" she repeated what I said.
I also went to the wardrobe to change my attire and do my make-up!
