Chapter 84 Chapter 84 - Solid Proof

"Just a little patience. I can also get money because he believes this child is his child. When I give birth to the child, Nikolai will surely give me lots of money." again Fritz mumbled weakly.
It is no longer a hallucination or misinterpretation. Fritz clarified what she was saying when she spoke again to the person she was talking to. Morris is his name and the real father of the child in her womb. That is my clear understanding. I went upstairs again to go to Nicka and Nicks in the bedroom because they had not come down yet. My flesh is quivering. On the other hand, I was glad to learn that Nicks is not the real father of Fritz's baby. I had to find a way to prove the truth.
"We thought you were already in the piazza," Nicks told me when I met them.
"I took something from Nicka's room so I came back," I answered back.
"Let's go down and Nathan and Ella are coming." Nicks's announcement.
I bobbed and I followed Nicks and Nicka. I do not know what the first step I should take. I do not want to tell Nicks what I found out while I still looking for proof. Perhaps it could help him to reduce his troubles.
"Nikolai!" Fritz called when she saw him coming.
"It is late, why did you leave your unit?" Nikolai begged.
"Can I stay here tonight? Last night I felt bad and I am scared it might happen again later." pleading Fritz said.
"I will tell Nanny Mia to come with you. I guess you need to see your obstetrician too. Wait, I will call her." Nicks let out.
"Why can't I be here? Because that woman is here? We are going to have a baby Nikolai, why do you let that woman live here?" Fritz was hysterical.
"If you just came here to scold..." I held Nicks' arm so he would not go on with what he was going to say.
I had to stop him so I could make my plans easier. I do not intend Fritz to notice that I know her top secret.
"Fritz, I am sorry. I have to stay here for my child. I do not want anyone to hurt her. I am ready to defend Nicka from anyone. And I am becoming fearless when it comes to her." I announced calmly.
I saw Fritz start acting again. She grabbed her stomach and looks like feeling worse.
"Nicks, let her stay here tonight. And let us go with her to the obstetrician tomorrow. If she is not feeling well then, she needs to see her obstetrician. Let us not disregard her feelings. It is not easy to bear a child." I said softly to Nicks.
Nicks has done nothing but let Fritz be here in the mansion. This house is big enough to accommodate us both. And it would be better for her to be here so that I can be more sure that I can accomplish my plan. Nathan and Ella have arrived. The piazza is also ready for our mini party. When Nicka felt sleepy, I brought her to her grandparent's room in the meantime so she could sleep.
"It is fun to be together again. This is history and we should celebrate," announced Nathan.
"Let us cheers to that!" Nicks suggested.
"Cheers!" we asserted at once.
"What is the great news? Why did you suddenly want us to party?" Nicks asked Nathan and Ella.
"I introduced Ella to Mom and Dad and they got along very well. They were so happy that I finally brought a woman to our house. You and Eve, I am sure there is great news too." Nathan mumbled cheerfully.
"We are okay!" I said briefly.
"Hey, Eve, we are not on the Love Hotline for that showbiz answer." Ella kidded.
"We are back together!" Nicks answered and he clasped my hand.
"Awesome! That is why your face looks pleasant again and your aura is inspired." Nathan's attention.
This evening was filled with storytelling and laughter for the four of us. I later talked with Nathan while he was still not tipsy.
"Nathan, do you know where I can see Mela?" I inquired.
"Of course, why?" he scowled.
"If you tell me, we can both help Nicks!" I assured him.
The next day...
"Are you ready, Fritz?" after I knocked on the room she occupied.
"Do not tell me, you are coming with me to my check-up today?" when she opened the door.
"I am worried about you! I want to make sure your pregnancy is going to be okay. I lost a child and I do not want you to experience the same. It killed me over and over again." my only explanation.
Fritz did nothing but agree to what I wanted. I am sure she will concede so that Nikolai will not doubt her. She is indeed pregnant but Nicks is not the real father of her baby.
"Where is Nikolai?" Fritz raised a question as she open the car door and I sat in the driver's seat.
"He left early so he begged me to accompany you. Do not worry, he is very concerned about you and your baby." I persuaded her.
"I am not going to see my obstetrician! I am feeling fine anyway." Fritz abruptly refused.
"After your check-up, Nicks wishes me to take you to TvN8 Station. He said he is going to give you something. I think it is an allowance so that you can buy the things you will need for you and your baby." I rationalized.
Fritz was speechless. But since she had already sat down, it was an indication that she permitted me to go with her. she heard the word allowance, which means, money. I shook my head but also pity her.
At the hospital...
"This is not the clinic where I have my check-ups, I have a regular obstetrician." when we got to the infirmary.
"Nicks instructed me to bring you here. Doctor Angel is a great obstetrician. I am sure she will take better care of you and your baby." I tried to encourage her.
And because Fritz was more excited about what she would receive next, she entered the infirmary.
"Eve!" Dr. Angel called my name.
"Dr. Angel, she is Fritz. Please, help me because this is where Nikolai and my future depend on." I pleaded to her.
I am also uncomfortable about my agenda but it is now or never. I will not let Fritz devastate Nikolai's life because of her fibs. Dr. Angle assured me that she fulfilled my request and she will call me immediately when my result came out.
"Would you like us to eat first?" when we were in the car again.
"I am not hungry yet. Let us go to Nikolai. Probably he is already waiting for us." she scoffed.
I already drove. I have no plans to take her to TvN8 Station. I told her an untruth regarding the allowance. Nikolai also did not instruct me to bring her to TvN8 Station. I only fabricated that so that I could bring Fritz to Dr. Angel.
"I thought we are going to Nikolai?" when she noticed we were on a different path.
"Nicks called me when you were in the infirmary and he had an unexpected meeting. But do not worry!" and I slowly parked the car.
"Nicks told me to give you this money!" and I opened my bag and handed an envelope to Fritz.
She immediately opened it and thusly counted the contents.
"Fifty thousand pesos? Are you sure this is all Nikolai aimed at to give me and his child? I doubt!" she asked sarcastically.
"He told me to give you that exact amount. Just chill! I am sure there will be more to come." I forced a smile.
And Fritz insisted on getting out of the car and she would just get a cab. I will go crazy with what this woman worked out in front of me. What if Nikolai himself gave her a large sum of money? Pity Nicks if Fritz can obtain money for her child. I went to the address Nathan had given. This is where Mela lives.
"Eve Lopez?" asked the woman who opened the gate.
"Are you Mela?" I inquired smiling.
"Yeah! What can I do for you?" she begged directly.
She let me into her house when I told her my purpose for coming here.
"I know Fritz is your friend. But if you are a friend, you will be more concerned about her welfare. I am not sure what Nikolai can do to her if he finds out the truth. I know, Mela, Morris is the father of her baby. What if Nikolai sues her and puts her in jail?" my disclosure of the truth.
"I told Fritz about the possibility. I begged her several times to stop it. The truth is, I do not see her anymore because I can not tolerate her wrongdoings." Mela retorted.
"I just want you to confirm to me the fact that Morris is the father of her baby," I repeated to her.
"Yes, Eve, Morris is her boyfriend. That was why they came back here to the Philippines because she got pregnant. She lost her job abroad and so was Morris." Mela's testimony.
I was so grateful to Mela when she told the truth. And even if Fritz denies what Mela said, I still have solid evidence and proof that will soon come out. I feel sorry for the child in her womb because even though he has never yet seen the world it has become abusive to him. And his parents are using the innocent baby.
