Chapter 36 Chapter 36 - Move On!

"Why do you just abruptly show up? You do not even know how to knock." I preached to him.
"I just want to check on you and Nicka. Do you have a monthly period? Why are you so surly?" He asked grinning.
"What are you saying? What is the connection of my monthly period with this conversation?" I felt ashamed of what he said.
We both have to converse a little softly for Nicka not to hear us.
"Are you fighting?" Nicka unawares begged.
"No, Baby!" My answer.
"I thought you are fighting. Please, do not fight!" Nicka pleaded.
"I will get going. Lock up all the doors. Keep safe. I just have to check on you.
Nicka, I am leaving. We are not fighting. Mom is just feeling annoyed with me." Then he kissed Nicka.
I quickly moved towards the door. I open it for him.
"Go home!" I murmured.
"Women! Why are you so unpredictable?
You are cute when you are like that! Frowning, pouting, and sneering all the time.
You still look pretty!" He followed me.
"Go away!" And I pointed the way out.
He suddenly stroked my hair and then sniffed it.
And he abruptly smooched me on my lips.
He irritates me! He is consuming my patience.
Am I disgusted? Or thrilled?
Moments like this seem to be perfect. If only Nikolai and I have a relationship.
But we have nothing except being workmates and maybe friends.
This guy is playing with my heart. Why does he have to look after us? Why does he have to kiss me whenever he wanted?
I could feel that he treats me and Nicka special. Or am I just assuming? Perhaps, Nikolai only cares for my child and nothing more.
At the TvN8 Station...
"The Love Hotline rating is dormant to number one!" Ms. Beth announced.
"Wow! That is good news!" I smiled.
"If without you, Love Hotline could not make it on top." Ms. Beth again mumbled.
"We are all working hard for this, Ms. Beth. Thank you so much for giving me this wonderful opportunity." and I held her shoulder.
"No, let me thank you, Eve!
Thank you for allowing me to prove that I can still accomplish a high-quality segment." she giggled.
"You can always succeed on that part! You are the best. You are my mentor. You believed in my talent." I praised Ms. Beth.
"So much for these compliments. We are both good, anyway!" and she chuckled again.
"Excuse me, Sir Nathan needs you, Eve!" Lara interrupted.
"Go ahead!" Ms. Beth consented.
"Yeah! All right, I am going to his office." I answered promptly.
I got up and went to Nathan's office.
I smirked while ambling through the corridor of TvN8 Station.
I could still recall the first time I stepped into this hallway going to Sir Nathan's office for my interview.
And there everything started!
I am gradually fulfilling all my dreams.
I never thought I could be this famous.
I just dreamt of working in TvN8 Station for any position.
This is where I likewise met Nikolai!
The Mr. N of my life.
Fate moves in mysterious ways!
Sometimes you cannot just decipher what is coming about.
I heard Nathan talking. I stopped.
I heard Genina's name so I decided not to enter his office.
My mood shifted!
Nathan is talking to Nikolai.
"Genina will be forever in my heart, Dude." Said, Nikolai.
"I know, you love her so much. It is not that easy to forget the person you love." Nathan retorted.
"I spent almost half of my life with her. I do not know how to live without her." Nikolai declared.
Every word Nikolai says is like a dagger stabbing into my heart.
"Every woman comes to you and tried to make you happy. Kisses is among those women but she was not able to replace Genina." Nathan announced.
"But..." Nikolai retorted.
I do not want to hear their conversation.
I left Nathan's office.
I stayed in the restroom. I entered the cubicle.
I could hear Nikolai's words over and over again in my psyche.
He loves Genina extremely much. He cannot live without her. And the more no woman can excel, equal, or can replace Genina with his life.
Everything is apparent to me now. Whatever happened to us was probably just part of being my employee with him.
I also contributed a lot to TvN8 Station so probably he just wishes to thank me for a job well done.
I should not be frantic at him. After all, he did not say anything about his true feelings for me.
Perhaps, all I need now is for me to live furthermore without him. Just go back to when I was not with him.
I had a happy life then. Even if something is missing.
I will be able to go back to the time when only Nicka matters to me.
"I have good news!" Ella started.
"What is it?" I softly asked.
"A magazine wishes you to cover their next month's edition.
Momshies Mag. A magazine all about Moms.
Mommies who are still very hot and alluring. Mommies who love their life even if they already have a child.
Mommies who keep up around the world even when it is hard and alone.
They would also want an interview with you." Ella explained in length.
"Wow! I like the concept of the magazine." I agreed promptly.
"But they want to see you in summer attire. Floral dresses, Hawaiian shirts, shorts, and swimwear. Do you agree?" she inquired.
"There is nothing wrong with wearing summer attire. I am not going to undress.
But they should let me wear one pieced swimwear to hide my stretch marks." I chuckled.
Being a mother and gaining stretch marks is the best part of it.
It is like tiger stripes which only implies how bold and courageous a mother could be for her child.
"Is that serious? You should seek for Sir Nikolai's advice first." Ella mumbled.
"Why would I let him know? It is my life! It is my physique." I shrugged.
"Did you fight? Are you all right?" Ella approached me.
"We do not have to fight, Ella! I do not care about him other than being the CEO of TvN8." I retorted.
"I thought you have a mutual understanding about your feelings for each other. What is going on, Eve?" she begged.
"He still loves his late wife. I heard him talking to Nathan. He confirmed that he did not know how to live without Genina.
We do not have anything yet and we should not start unless he has moved on with his wife." I said weakly.
Life goes on!
I will not pretend to be like Nikolai who stops his world because Genina is gone.
My world has to keep spinning because Nicka is here with me.
I decided to on a jog. This would be a preparation for my photoshoot for Momshies Mag magazine.
"Oh?" I stopped when I saw a woman sitting on the bench.
I slowly walked towards her.
"Ma'am, are you all right?" I approached her.
She is aged but the beauty of her face is still visible.
"Suddenly I fainted," she mumbled.
"Just relax. Sit down first!" I instructed her.
And I run to the nearby store to buy her water.
I got very worried about her.
"Have a drink." And I assisted.
She did what I instructed her.
"Thank you!" she mumbled.
Perhaps' this woman is in her late 60's.
"Why are you out here?" I inquired.
"I am taking a morning walk. I unexpectedly feel worse." she retorted.
"I will take you to your house." My suggestion.
"Are you sure I will not bother you?" she implored.
I shook my head and smiled. Then she agreed. She is not feeling well so she conceded with me.
I supported her as we walk. We walked slowly.
"Next time you should have someone with you. Do you have a son or a daughter? Or a nanny?" we are chatting while walking.
"I have children. My eldest has her own family so they also have their own house.
My youngest, on the other hand, has not come home here for a long time.
He visits. He prefers to live alone." she explained.
"Is that so? I hope you even got along with your maid." I suggested.
"I was feeling good before I left the house. Probably, I need to see my doctor and need to be checked.
By the way, you look familiar to me." she changed the subject.
"Maybe you have seen me on television or in a magazine." I smiled as I answered back.
"Oh! I remembered! In Nativis magazine. I love cosmetics particularly when I was still young." She could already smile.
"That is why you are still so gorgeous. You are vain." I complimented her.
"This is our house. Come in, go ahead." she invited me.
I have this unconscious feeling of agreeing with her.
She leads me inside.
Is this a house? Or a mansion?
This is tremendous.
So elegant.
She told me to seat and I did.
They have a pool inside their vicinity.
