Stupid sister
Chapter fifteen
What is she up to now? The smile doesn't even look genuine. I hate her so much now for what she did to Gwen.
I would have stayed to give her a taste of her own medicine. But I was hurrying up to go to the stadium.
Unfortunately, I ended up arriving late. What a life of an athlete!
She walks to me, with a wide smile on her face, taking her steps carefully; her gait was too gentle.
She looks so beautiful in that dress of hers. And I would have walked up to her and hold her even on the midst of crowds, if she wasn't so wicked.
I groan. I didn't expect to see her here. Why is she even here?
I guess it's my mom's doing. She must have phoned her and informed her of my party. She has been trying so hard to matchmake Heidi and me.
I wonder how my mom and her mom's bond got so thick that my mom would do all she can to make sure we get married.
But then, it may not be my mom. Heidi is a cunning young lady. I don't believe she planted a wristwatch in Gwen's room. And made it look as though it was Gwen that stole it.
And then, I kind of remember the pictures she took of me. Staying over at the restaurant so she would be able to plot a photographer to take our shoot and post it on social media.
Imagine, she even kissed me to show everyone how deep our connection is.
She could have seen the party Venue on the internet and thought to show off as my girlfriend.
Girlfriend my foot. She doesn't even know who she's dealing with.
I will sure her everything she showed Gwen. And then, I will let her know, I'm for Gwen. And only Gwen will I be.
"Hi, Ryder!" she grin ear from ear as if she didn't remember what had happened hours ago. She looks up at me. Even in her heel, I still top her with two feet.
I never planned on having more with her, than the dinner date mom had worked out for us.
I had no interest in her whatsoever. And now, I hate her more knowing her wicked works. I'm sure she had always maltreatedGwen.
"Yes hi," I say thickly, with a hint of anger.
I had to use every ounce of my strength to keep myself in check. I won't want rumor to spread about me.
I guess that's why she's here and comfortable with it.
But she should know I will still be upset about what she did earlier. Or maybe her little photographer hasn't mailed her about the turn of events.
But she looks like she doesn't even care. If she does, she would notice that o am really boiling with rage. The anger I feel in me is enough to fry eggs.
"Congrats on your winning," she muttered, her smiling fading slowly.
I watch her for a while, irritated, "Don't tell me you came here for that?"
Her eyes switch magically and the smile was all gone from her face, "I heard of the party and the fact that you will need a date."
Damn! Nancy missed that part. Nancy didn't tell me I should bring a date. Or maybe Heidi is just lying.
"And you thought you can be one?" Her voice was deep and without emotions. I meant to taunt her with every word.
She didn't say anything.
Silence fell between us.
"Hi beauty," Derek says suddenly, breaking the silence and reminding me of the fact that he existed and was so close to us.
I have even forgotten he's near.
Heidi looks at Derek with a smile, "Hi, you must be Derek. I know so much about you."
Derek laughs nervously, " Really? I'm so glad to hear that."
And then, he looks at me, hitting me lightly at the shoulder, "I will excuse you guys," he smiles, "got a butterfly to catch".
And he zoom off before I could call him back. That Derek! Always mischievous.
I look back at Heidi, "Why didn't you tell me about Gwen? Why did you lie? You sent her out of the house and you did as though you never knew."
Heidi scoffs silently, 'Why are you so interested in her."
Really? She looks like a devil now. I guess she was just trying to impress Derek.
Both like her are meant to stay away from me. I hate people like her.
"Have you forgotten what your mother proposed? We are supposed to meet often. "
"And who the heck told you something would happen between us? " I laugh briefly, " You really like to joke around.
I turn my head slightly, just about to walk away but my gaze caught something instead, no someone.
It's Gwen, looking around anxiously that I nearly expose her by laughing.
She, Gwen was dressed in a long armless white gown, which got a spit at the right side leg, up above her kneel. She fit so well in the gown that shows that feminine shape. It was like the gown was tailored majorly for people of her shape.
The stilettos she's wearing, compliment her legs and make her look more beautiful.
Her hair was tied neatly into a bun.
She looks too beautiful to be true.
After satisfying her eyes of looking around, her gaze finally rests on me. She smiles and it was like my heart was set on fire.
My heart thumps madly in my chest, and I felt like I'm going to run out of air soon.
"Oh, my God!"I murmur more to myself, a hand on my chest to steady my irrational breathing.
I tried to put myself under control.
"That rat..."I heard Heidi swear. I look at Heidi and realize she's also looking at Gwen.
Gwen's face has now mirrored the fear she's feeling. Her face was dark and the smile was gone from her face.
Men had started to look at Gwen, in fact, I could see a man approach her.
"Guess, I will be the one to excuse you then, "I smile and I began toward the angel that just walked in.
I heard Heidi swears, but I didn't even glance back at her as I approach Gwen
"Hey" I smile at her
She continues to look at me, perhaps she likes what she sees.
"I never thought...."I broke off, reminding myself I have to be careful of anything I say"you look so good"
"You think?" she mutters more to herself, lowering her gazes.
I nod, "sure. I didn't think you might consider coming."
She smiles, "it's like you gave me no choice.
I turn around to take a glass of wine. The gasps I heard made me turn towards Gwen quickly.
Heidi's glass is raised and it's empty. She has a dark smirk on her face as she watches Gwen.
Gwen on the other hand has terror written all over her face as she looks down at her ruined dress, the one that has just been stained by the wine.
What the fuck is this?
