My feeling
Chapter forty-seven
Gwen
I look away and blush slightly. I don't believe I'm mistaken as his girlfriend. And Ryder didn't even try to correct her.
He only smiles. Well, he's a man of principle. He doesn't dwell much on a matter. And matter like this is trivial to him. Why argue about it.
It doesn't matter.
We walk out of the house after Ryder has paid all he needed to.
"Do you really like the house?" He asks as he enters the driver's seat.
I move to the passenger's seat, " Yes, it's beautiful."
"Mandy told me to tell you something."
I raise a brow at him, " Who's Mandy?"
He starts the engine, "The other lady that thinks you are my girlfriend."
I laugh at the accusation again. Seriously, it looks so funny, "So what did she say?"
"She said the house is a perfect one to raise kids."
I look at him quickly. Is he planning to settle down? Does he have someone in mind already?
Well, he should. He's not getting any younger. He's already over mature to marry.
"Do you also think it's perfect for something like that?"
I force a smile to my lip, " Yes, it is. I love the way it's built."
"Good!" He says and smiles, " That means she will love it."
I raise a brow at him, " Who?" I ask curiously, my heart races suddenly.
" My girlfriend. The woman I want to get married to."
He has? Does he have a girlfriend already? I mean he's already thinking of marrying her. Well, why shouldn't? He can't be a bachelor forever.
I just don't know why I feel so sad about it. I will be getting married one day too. Yes, I know but the thought of it seems to disrupt my balance.
I fake a smile again, "She must be very beautiful."
He nods quickly, proud of it. I mean who wouldn't be proud of their spouses?
"She has an exceptional beauty. In fact, she has all I want in a woman," he says dreamily, " I can't wait to be together with her."
I look away, "I'm sure she's very lucky to have you!"
The rest of the drive went in total silence. I couldn't say anything. I don't even know what to say. I just feel so hurt.
Gosh, I must be stupid. Ryder can't be single forever. And I don't love him to marry him. So, there's no point feeling bad because he will be getting married to the most beautiful woman in the whole world.
I'm sure she's one of the models or an actress. Gosh, she's going to be the perfect one for him.
The car pulls to a stop suddenly, "We are here!" He says happily and gets down.
I walk down and follow behind him quietly until we got to a big shot outlet. He turns to look at me, "Here's it!"
"Wow!" I exclaim softly as I give it deep scrutiny. It's spacious and very nice. It will make a nice office, "I didn't know it was this spacious."
"You didn't notice because it was a picture but they wrote how wide it was. Do you like it?"
I nod severally, " Yes, I do."
He nods briefly, " Nice, aren't you hungry?"
I laugh, "Starving."
He holds my left hand, suddenly startling me. My heart stops for a moment, only for it to start beating again and this time, faster.
I wonder why I'm getting this kind of feeling towards him. I hope nothing is wrong with me.
It was after two in the afternoon, when we arrived at Rock and Brew's. We walk to the VIP room. I look around amazingly. I've never been to this part before and it's really beautiful.
Ryder walks to the chair and sits, "You seem to be admiring everywhere we go," he teases.
I walk to him, smiling, "Because I can't help it. They are all beautiful!" I take my seat and look up at him, " You don't seem surprised at all."
He laughs, "I've been everywhere. I'm thirty-five. Do you think I can still be amazed by anything?"
I laugh this time. He's really thirty-five. Old but still active. Would I really love to marry someone like him? I'm not sure.
Our orders were served. I pick the fries and look up just in time to see Ryder pick his phone and press some buttons.
He smiles and drops the phone. I assume he just messaged his girlfriend. I sigh and drink my wine. He got a non-alcoholic wine for me like that night. And he got champagne for himself.
"So, I found a list of schools you will like to go to. Do you still want me to pick it out for you?"
I look up at him and nod briefly. I will go by any decisions he makes for me. He's older and he knows what's best for me.
"Will you like a private university?"
I gaze at him for a while, "Private institution?" I couldn't hide my surprise, "But I don't have the money."
He laughs, "I will pay for it all. Consider yourself for finding someone like me."
I smile. I'm really glad I found someone like him, "Thank you so much."
"Actually," he looks up again, " I'm thinking of getting you and Lizzy into Oxford."
What? I scream, startling even myself. He jerks back, shocked as well.
"Oxford?" Oxford is a popular university in our state and the best so far. Most Billionaire would either take their children to Edward university or Oxford University.
I don't believe I will be attending that kind of school. I've never imagined it because of their expenses.
"Yes," he nods briefly, a bright smile on his face, " And do you know what? I've just secured admission for you!"
"What!" I exclaim again, my hands flying to my mouth. I can't believe all this is happening to me.
I get up quickly, without even thinking about it. I rush into Ryder's arms. He laughs and pulls me into a hug.
"Thank you so much!" I say to him. He's still sitting while I'm on his leg, my eyes looking up to him.
I've once been in this awkward position and I wonder where. Then, it came at me suddenly. I remember it now, very clearly that night.
We were exactly in this position and Ryder kissed me. I thought it was only my imagination but it really happened.
Though, to Ryder, it doesn't matter who he kisses. What matters is the relationship he has with the party involved.
Ryder moves his head closer slowly. Is he going to kiss me again?
Butterflies rise in me at the thought. I can't wait to kiss him again. I want to kiss him again and again.
He pulls to a stop suddenly, his lips almost touching mine, "You look beautiful," he says instead and smooths my hair.
I clear my throat and walk back to my seat, blushing harder. Gosh, I had thought he was going to kiss me again. I was expecting it. Gosh, I don't believe I'm so foolish.
"You are blushing!" He announces amazingly, his deep voice teasing.
I look back at my food, "No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are," he laughs so hard that I feel so foolish of myself.
I wonder why he didn't kiss me. He's always not concerned about who he kisses. Or is he hesitating because of his girlfriend? The woman he wants to get married to?
I don't care? Seriously, I don't. He's a grown man and already ripe for marriage. I'm not going to go on feeling sad about it.
"I'm going to training tomorrow," he says suddenly, " So, we can go to school the next day. You can tell Lizzy for me because I might not be able to. I've been pulling back these days."
" Can I follow you to practice?" I say quickly before I could stop myself. I don't believe I said that.
He stares for a while, then shakes his head negatively, "No, I will be going somewhere before and after practice."
I look back at my food. He's already avoiding me. Gosh, I don't believe this is happening and it's annoying.
Damn!
When we walk back home, I refuse to talk to him. He didn't try to start any conversation either. He looks tired and I do too.
I walk faster into the living room while Ryder was speaking with the gatekeeper.
I walk into my room without a second glance at Ryder. I don't believe he won't even kiss me.
I throw the bag on the bed and lay beside it. I don't even know why I'm getting angry unnecessarily.
Well, it's not my fault. Ryder started this thing. He was the one that started kissing me. And it made it look like it doesn't mean anything. Why does it mean a thing now?
"Why are you so angry?" A deep voice says, interrupting my thoughts. I sit up and look at Ryder. He's standing by the door and giving me that look that says he knows all.
I lay back, hiding my face from him, "I'm not angry."
He's suddenly near, his cologne feeling everywhere around me. I look up at him on me.
He smiles and comes down, taking my lips in his.
