Chapter thirty-three
Ryder
She suddenly pushes me away and her cold eyes watch me. I can see the hatred she feels for me through those eyes
I knew at that moment that I had lost Gwen if it wasn't forever. The eyes that have always adored me have changed drastically.
I had to leave immediately. I came over with the two dresses I had with me yesterday. I dropped it on the bed with her before walking out.
I excused myself as I couldn't even bring myself to face her. I don't even know what to tell her. I know I'm at fault. I said Heidi was wicked for everything she did and then when Mimi did the same thing, I couldn't do anything to her.
I couldn't even do anything to her. I couldn't protect her. Damn! I have no say! I have nothing to say, it was all my fault.
I think I will just come back when she's calmer and able to talk to me.
Instead of coming to the hospital yesterday, I went to see Mimi. Gosh! I still get cold shivers whenever I think of what would become of me if Mimi dies especially here.
I've not been able to do anything or even call her father because I wasn't allowed to leave her side. I had to put some sleeping pills in her juice so I would be able to come and see Gwen in the hospital.
I enter my car and put a call across to Mimi's father. I start the ignition while the phone rings.
"Hello Ryder," Mr. Lawrence's deep voice says through the airpod into my ears.
I smile, "Hi, I've been a while."
"Yes," he agreed, "How is everything. And my daughter, though she called me last week."
"Everyone is fine sir. And your daughter is doing great," I take a turn out of the current street, " I just need your help, sir."
" What's it about? And I hope it's not something serious?"
" No sir, it's alright. Actually, Mimi has been leaving with me for a while now. But I will like to go out of the country. And I can't just leave her behind."
" And I don't even know when I will be back because I will also be planning for this world Game."
" Oh yeah, I know about that," he supports, " I was still going to call and ask how your plan is."
It seems like Derek's plan is working fine, " Yes sir and she doesn't have a friend around here. Aside from that, I don't feel well leaving her back on her own."
" I understand you and I'm grateful for that. And don't worry, I will call her and explain all this to her."
But if Mimi knows I told her father this, she might tell her father about our relationship status. Damn and that's going to cause a lot of trouble for me especially if I end up with someone else.
"But sir, can you not tell her I called you and told you this? She might think I'm running off way too quickly and I'm supposed to leave this weekend."
" I understand my daughter," Lawrence laughs, " And don't worry, I know what to do about her."
And he hung up. I made a short yell. Gosh! I'm so happy this is all settled. Mimi will be going out of my house by the weekend, then I will be able to dwell more on Gwen.
I drive into the compound. I have to make sure Mimi doesn't notice I'm involved in anything. And she wouldn't want to talk because of the agreement I had signed.
I will be sure to get a new line so she would never be able to contact me in the future.
Also, I will have to call the doctor and tell them to discharge Gwen two days later. By that time, she would be able to come back home finally with no disturbance.
I also need to call Derek and tell him about the success of the plan.
He picks up after the second ring, "Hello Ryder."
"Hi, I've called Mr. Lawrence and he agreed already."
" I told you, it will," Derek laughs. He's always supportive, " The next thing you need to do is after she's was gone. You will get a new house and sell the one you are currently in. So that if she wake up one day and decides to come back, she wouldn't be able to relocate you."
" Don't forget to keep the location of your house away from the paparazzi. Well, you can purchase at least three houses. Make one secret. So, even if your fans ask about your location, you can tell them either of the two and not the last one."
" And then, you won't leave in those two, you will stay in one. It will be where your lover will be," he teases.
I laugh, feeling happiness overswept me. I've not been feeling great since the day I made a deal with Mimi. It felt like I had a gun pointed at my head.
Finally, it's happening. I'm so happy.
I send a message to the doctor before walking inside the room. Gwen, there are only two days left. Then I will be able to tell you how I really feel about you
