Chapter 12 Three Days and Nights
"Fine! Go ahead and complain, as long as Simon stands on my side, it's enough! As for the others, I don't care!" Hillary was still stubborn.
Elisa stared at her tightly with a red palm print on her face. The cold light in her eyes was intimidating.
"Why don't you go find Simon now and confess the truth? I want to see with my own eyes how he protects you! Oh wait, you probably don't even know where he is right now?" Elisa sneered.
"How could I not know? We're together every day!" Hillary's face still had an expression of not admitting defeat.
"Huh, now I'm taking care of Simon who has a leg injury 24 hours a day at home. Are you spending time with his soul?"
Hillary turned red with anger. "You bitch! Didn't I warn you to stay away from him? How dare you seduce him!"
"Why should I listen to you? Besides, I am his fiancée now. Taking care of him is only natural."
Hillary was so angry that her face twisted. Perhaps under the influence of alcohol, she even picked up a nearby bottle and smashed it fiercely on Elisa's head.
"Elisa! You are just a whore raised by someone else!"
Afterwards, Hillary continued to mutter something but Elisa couldn't hear anymore because she fainted from being hit by the bottle directly.
When she woke up again, Elisa found herself in complete darkness. She struggled to feel around and guessed that this must be the storage room in their house. Did Hillary lock her up after hitting her?
Her head hurt from being hit by the bottle earlier but after standing up she pounded heavily on the door while shouting: "Hillary! Come here!"
Soon footsteps were heard outside but it wasn’t Hillary, it was Margaret.
"I heard that you boasted to Hillary about taking care of Simon. And said you were going to report us to the Iverson family? You are getting bolder and bolder!"
Margaret looked down at her and grabbed her hair. "You slut, it's time for you to learn a lesson!"
"What are you going to do? Margaret!" Elisa’s scalp was numb from being pulled but she couldn't resist.
...
The room was dark and Elisa had no concept of time. She only knew that she had been locked up for a very long time, probably three days and nights.
When Margaret finally let her out, she was barely conscious.
"Elisa, you better behave yourself or next time we won't just lock you up like this!"
Elisa leaned heavily against the corner with tears silently streaming down her face. No matter what methods they used, she could never be a match for this mother-daughter duo.
...
At the Iverson mansion, Simon absentmindedly flipped through today's newspaper with an uneasy feeling in his heart.
Hillary had disappeared for several days now. Even if she was still angry about being assigned menial work last time, shouldn’t it have subsided by now?
Could something have happened during these past few days?
Simon suddenly threw away the newspaper and shouted outside his study door: "David Clark! Come in here!"
"Mr. Iverson, what can I do for you?" David quickly appeared before him.
"Hillary has been missing for three days now. To find out what she's been up to."
David immediately noticed the worry on Simon's face and promised he would investigate right away.
Just as he turned around though, they found Hillary standing at their doorstep looking weak as if she could collapse any moment.
