Chapter 13 Who Bullied You?

Simon was shocked.
The woman's forehead seemed to have been smashed by something, and the wound was still exposed in the air. It had only been a few days, but Simon even felt that she had lost a lot of weight.
"Miss Brooks... What happened to you?" David was also frightened.
Elisa's eyes were red as she struggled to stand up with the help of the table. She gritted her teeth and said, "I'm fine, I just got bitten by a dog!"
Simon couldn't help but wheel his chair closer to her. Her once rosy cheeks were now devoid of any color. Her clear and translucent eyes were now swollen and red, losing their usual luster as if...she had suffered abuse.
"Who bullied you?" Simon asked her seriously.
Seeing his concerned expression touched Elisa's heart in some way. If she told him it was Hillary who did this to her, would he believe it?
"When you ask who bullied me, do you want to help me get revenge?" she asked.
"I just want to know who dares bully someone from our Iverson family!" Simon's face became extremely gloomy. Although he would break off his engagement with Hillary, it didn't mean he would let Hillary be bullied at will.
"It is that woman whom you are going to marry! That sister who is so ruthless that she can smash a wine bottle directly on my head! How about it? Do you still want revenge for me?"
Simon didn't notice what relationship Elisa mentioned; instead, he immediately denied it: "Are you saying Elisa hurt you? Impossible! I know her kindness; she wouldn't do such a thing."
Kindness? The word made Elisa laugh out loud: "Simon, how naive of you!"
"What do you mean?"
Then suddenly he thought of something and narrowed his eyes. "Hillary, could it be that you knew I was going to marry your sister and started to envy her, so you deliberately slandered and hurt her?"
Just now when he saw the worry on his face, Elisa almost thought he cared about her. Now it seemed that she had deluded herself.
"I didn't expect you to believe me either."
Elisa looked at him coldly, and the light in her eyes was completely extinguished. In this world, did she still hope for someone who would truly care about her?
While Diana was not at home, Elisa moved directly into the study to sleep. After staying in a room without any light for so many days, shadows had already formed in her heart.
Elisa dared not turn off the lights; she had nightmares all night long.
When she woke up the next day, she unexpectedly found that all of her wounds were bandaged properly. The previous night she only used adhesive bandages to deal with them simply; how come there was ointment applied on top of them now? And they were carefully wrapped with gauze?
"Miss Brooks, are you awake? Does your wound still hurt?" David came in and handed two pills over to Elisa: "Your wound is not doing well; you need some anti-inflammatory medicine internally to help recover."
Elisa looked confused: "My injury..."
"Oh! Mr. Iverson was afraid that your wound would hurt too much so he specially invited a doctor over last night just for wrapping up your wounds." David said: "Actually Mr.Iverson cares about Miss Brooks more than anything else..."
David could tell that Mr.Iverson has never been so concerned about any woman before.
"It took you so long just to deliver some medicine? David, have I given you to few tasks?" Simon's displeased voice sounded outside the door.
This was the first time Elisa received such care from someone, and her heart was warm. She wanted to express her gratitude, but then she heard Simon explaining to her again: "Hillary, don't delude yourself. I just don't want my mother to think that I abused you."
