Chapter 26 The Stranger's Child

Elisa turned around in disbelief and was speechless for a while. "You...you said I'm pregnant?"
"Of course, your test report is here. It has been more than a month. You didn't feel anything?" The nurse's affirmation was like a bolt from the blue, hitting her hard.
The scene of that night flashed through Elisa's mind involuntarily. Just one night, and she had conceived a child with a stranger!
Diana was also shocked but more delighted because she was going to be a grandmother!
"Hillary, are you really pregnant?"
Elisa couldn't speak and even glanced at Simon guiltily. His face turned pale as he had hardly any physical contact with Elisa let alone getting her pregnant! It was obvious who the father of her child would be.
"Forget it, mothers don't usually know they're pregnant in the early stages. Let me take you for another check-up." Diana eagerly pulled Elisa to do another check-up which quickly confirmed that Elisa was indeed pregnant.
On their way back home, Diana flipped through the test report several times excitedly before calling Ryan to share this good news.
However, holding onto that piece of paper made Elisa feel nothing but despair.
In the hospital room waiting for her was Simon whose anger boiled inside him like lava.
Holding up the ultrasound report as if ready to tear it apart anytime soon, Simon calmly spoke up: "Mom, I have something to discuss with Hillary privately."
As soon as Diana left them alone together in the room, Simon crumpled up the paper into a ball and threw it angrily at Elisa's feet before growling: "Hillary explain yourself!"
Eliza trembled under his rage but clenched her fists firmly saying: "I will explain everything clearly to Diana; I won't blame you."
"Whose child are you carrying?"
At this point, Elisa couldn't take it anymore and shouted back: "Of course, it's not your child because we're not even married! So why feel ashamed? Do you really think of yourself as my husband?"
Elisa's voice echoed in the quiet room while Simon held his fists tightly. Why was he so angry? What did it matter to him whose wild seed she was carrying?
But the thought of her being with another man...it made him want to go crazy.
Simon took a deep breath and suddenly released his clenched fists. "You're right; we're not even married. I have no control over your chaotic personal life, so please stay away from me. I find you dirty."
Simon's words were like countless thorns piercing into Elisa's heart but she forced herself to smile through her tears and said: "Mr Iverson, since you are so pure, why did you have a one-night stand with my sister?"
