Chapter 14 Help Him Vent

Elisa's heart suddenly turned cold. The assistant's words were already problematic, so what was there for him to care about her? She was just a fake fiancée after all. With this in mind, Elisa looked dimly at Simon and said politely, "I didn't misunderstand you, but thank you anyway."
However, her distant attitude made Simon feel somewhat uncomfortable as well. He pushed his wheelchair directly and left.
After breakfast, Elisa received a call from Diana. "Elisa, I'm on a business trip these days. Can you take Simon for his follow-up examination? But it's not convenient for the outside world to know about his injury. Please try to avoid those reporters."
Since Elisa moved in with them, Diana had been treating her fairly well. Since she asked for help herself this time around, Elisa naturally wouldn't refuse.
"Okay," she agreed readily.
Although Simon didn't like her presence much, out of respect for Diana's face value alone, Elisa took the initiative to knock on Simon's door before they set off thirty minutes later.
"Simon, we're leaving for the hospital checkup in thirty minutes."
Simon didn't even turn his head; he just grunted an acknowledgment: "Got it."
Elisa couldn't tell what mood he was in but that wasn't important since it had nothing to do with her either way.
To prevent any malicious journalists from taking pictures of them together again during their departure from home towards the hospital via the backdoor entranceway instead of the main entranceway, they deliberately chose an alternative route when setting off.
But when Elisa pushed Simon out of the house on his wheelchair through that alternate exit path, a group of reporters still jumped out from behind some bushes nearby and started taking crazy photos with their cameras:
"The news is true! The Iverson family CEO has relapsed and becomes a cripple! Look, he's still sitting in a wheelchair!"
"Just say that he's disabled! There is no cure for him!"
Diana had specifically instructed Elisa not to let Simon be exposed to the media. "David, go stop these reporters. I'll send him off!" Elisa quickly said before she lifted Simon's arm over her shoulder and wrapped her other arm around his waist.
When the soft arms of this woman wrapped around his waist, it was as if an electric current hit Simon's heart. Except for that night with Hillary, he had never been so close to any other woman before!
But why didn't he reject this feeling in his heart?
Elisa was afraid that he would fall out of the wheelchair so she held onto him even tighter while kicking away at those journalists' cameras with great momentum: "He is not disabled; there is no need for a wheelchair!"
Simon stared intently at her face which showed an expression of unwillingness to lose. He couldn't help but curl up one corner of his mouth.
Was she helping him vent?
The two were very close now; all Simon needed to do was lower his head and smell her scent.
That sense of familiarity emerged again - why did every time she approached him make him involuntarily recall that night... That woman from that night was clearly her sister.
Elisa also felt this sense of familiarity and looked up at him suddenly. Although she wanted desperately to forget about what happened on that terrible night when Margaret made her deliver alcohol bottles directly into hotel rooms instead, the hug from the man back then seemed so similar to their embrace right now...
As they locked eyes together, Simon couldn't hide his excitement anymore and asked anxiously: "Hillary, last month you went to Lissel Hotel? Did you?"
Elisa's heart trembled violently; She almost lost balance completely. The place where Margaret had asked her to deliver the alcohol bottles was exactly Lissel Hotel, which Simon mentioned. It was a scar that she could never forget, so how did he know about it?
