Chapter 9 Personal Care
"But I have no experience in taking care of people. I'm afraid...I won't take good care of him." Elisa didn't want to continue interacting with Simon, especially since their relationship would soon come to an end.
Simon's face instantly darkened as he deliberately enunciated each word: "Mrs. Iverson, you don't want to? Don't forget how I got injured."
Elisa was a bit hesitant, after all, he was injured because of her and she reluctantly agreed. "Since I've agreed, come push me home."
Once they arrived at the house, Simon began directing her on everything from pouring water and serving food to massaging his injured leg to relieve pain.
Elisa looked up at Simon who was leisurely enjoying the massage while sipping coffee. "Focus on applying more pressure. Haven’t you eaten?" Simon frowned unhappily.
Knowing that he was intentionally teasing her, Elisa pinched the muscle on his calf hard.
"This is your attitude towards taking care of patients?" Simon glared at her.
Elisa couldn't be bothered with him and continued massaging him lightly but firmly.
Looking at her lowered head, Simon couldn't help but think of her sister and took the initiative to ask: "Tell me about your sister's interests and hobbies; if you do well then I'll let you rest early."
After a long time passed without any response from Elisa as if she hadn’t heard anything; suddenly she leaned against his knee with closed eyes while breathing rhythmically over his skin.
Did she fall asleep?
Simon wanted to wake her up but suddenly heard a murmur from her before changing position again continuing to sleep soundly.
Looking at the side profile of Elisa’s face made him feel like it was familiar somehow.
Why...was she so similar to that girl from that night?
Even their fragrance seemed almost identical...
Feeling someone touching his cheek, Elisa suddenly woke up from her sleep and Simon's hand was still suspended in mid-air.
"What are you doing?" Elisa quickly moved away.
"What do you think I'm going to do to you?" Simon calmly withdrew his hand but looked a bit unnatural.
He had promised to take responsibility for Elisa, yet he couldn't help but fantasize about her sister...
Simon frowned and coldly said: "You fell asleep while taking care of me for the first time. Hillary, from now on, I don't need your care!"
Elisa didn't know why he was so angry; he even left by spinning his wheelchair around.
Feeling upset after being yelled at, she grabbed a blanket and went to sleep on the couch.
She thought that there was no hope for work anymore but unexpectedly received an interview notice from HR the next day.
Thinking about what Simon said last night, Elisa left directly without saying anything.
He criticized her for not taking good care of him because he wanted "the real Hillary" to take care of him!
"Where are you going?"
As soon as she reached the door, Simon's low voice suddenly sounded out.
Elisa held onto her bag strap and calmly replied: "It has nothing to do with you."
"Hillary, didn’t you promise 24-hour care for me..."
"Mr. Iverson! Did you forget what you said yesterday? You don't need my help!"
