The Elementals: Chapter 3 almost perfect

I am too stunned to say anything and I let Sky lead me down different alley ways until we come to a stop in front of a red door and he searches for his keys and opens the door. My heart flutters as I realise he has taken me to his flat, I said he could have any girl at the club and he chose me. I become very self conscious and try to remember if i’m wearing nice underwear as I walk up the stairs behind him. I have never been this nervous going home with someone before, but then again I have never cared about the someone before.
Sky opens the door to a large sitting room with the biggest TV screen I have seen any student own and beside it sits a bookcase filled with dvds, I have not seen a DVD in so long, its amazing that he has this many of them. Sky hurdles the sofa and pats the seat beside him eagerly. I walk around and carefully sit beside him.
“So chronological, release date or character specific?” Sky asks casually.
I stare at him blankly and then something clicks in my mind and all my nerves are released as laughter. “we definitely do not have time to work all the way through the whole MCU! So maybe lets just focus on one character” I say.
“Well we don’t have to watch them all tonight, I’m not going anywhere, we could start a movie night like old times” He says.
“I have missed them and you. You never visited.” I say sadly.
“I’m sorry Lil, I don’t like going back there, you forget I had 3 years of living hell in that place before you came along and saved my ass. Going back brings back memories I don’t want to face. What about you though, you could have come to see me when you moved here like Ember did, what stopped you?” He asks.
“I didn’t know Ember was going to see you, I would have gone too, but I guess I thought you didn’t want to see me” I admit.
“Of course I would want to see you! Ember never even mentioned you and Rain were in the city too or I would have seen you sooner.”
“Well I’m glad we met again. And we have so much to catch up on, I mean there are at least 5 films we have not watched together and there is the mystery of how your scrawny self became this.” I gesture to his larger build and we laugh.
“Well then lets start with a film I will now forever think of as my origin story and with Captain America” He jumps up and does a mock army salute and I laugh more.
“Ok, but I know you didn’t really get injected with super soldier serum, so what happened, even Mr Elm’s relentless karate training routine couldn’t put muscle on you”
He leans in close to me and puts his finger to my lips “Shh, just let me pretend something cool happened to me” He whispers and I pout but let him start the movie.
By half way through the second film we are back to our old selves like no time has passed and I am happily snuggled up to him lying on the couch. I stretch out and almost fall off but Sky quickly catches me and pulls me in close to him. Our faces are inches apart and I can feel his breath on my lips. I look up at his crystal clear eyes and see him looking at my lips. This is it, my chance to kiss him and tell him how I feel. Just as I lean in the door swings open and Ember appears.
“That guy was such a creep, babe I want give us another …” Ember starts but doesn’t finish her sentence seeing us so close on the sofa, she glares daggers at me. “What do you think you are doing?!” she shouts instantly furious.
Sky jumps up “its not what you think, it's just Lily, we were watching a film and she fell off the couch so I pulled her back up.”
Ok so just Lily, not a threat, not someone he would consider being with. Rage suddenly fills me and I want to slap him and Ember but instead I opt for storming out. I am vaguely aware of sky calling after me and distant arguing voices but I ignore them and walk back to the club to collect my bag. Rain isn’t there anymore and I decide to walk the long way home in case she took the guy back to our place. I walk past Arthur's seat and decide to climb the hill, exercise usually helps me calm down and being in a green open space is better than a busy city. The darkness makes it a tougher climb, but the view of the stars over the city is worth it. I begin to relax and finally head home.
When I enter the flat, I’m surprised to see Rain sleeping on my bed, she wakes up as I enter the room and a mischievous grin plasters her face. “What happened?” She demands
“What do you mean, nothing happened” I say hoping to go to sleep and forget about it.
“Oh come on, I saw you leave with Sky and I have 2 missed calls form him asking about you and an angry message from Ember too, so spill” Rain says excitedly.
I groan “Nothing happened, he was upset about Ember breaking up with him, we watched films, we had a brief moment that was rudely interrupted by Ember coming to take him back and that was probably a good thing because he clearly doesn’t like me like that and is still in love with her anyway.”
“How dare he reject you, he clearly does not know what he is missing and that bitch needs to stop toying with him.” Rain is not easily angered, but she is always on my side and I hug her feeling better already. “What do you want me to do about the messages Lily?” She asks.
“Ignore them for now, we can deal with them tomorrow after Karate, I’m just glad my number changed so they are not bothering me.” I say.
So I fall asleep, not in the arms of the my first crush, but gratefully in the arms of my best friend.
