The Elementals: Chapter 36 Mission
So our aim to start with was friendly neighbourhood vigilante crime fighting team. Since there are earth dragons placed in positions of power all around the world and I am head of the earth kingdom, I have been granted access to a dangerous amount of sensitive information, including the Edinburgh crime reports. There are a number of hot spots for assault, theft and sexual harassment. On a Friday night there we have narrowed our target area down to 2 hotspots. The plan is simple, stake out these dodgy clubs and intervene if anything comes up.
I have informed the head guards of our plan and they were surprisingly supportive, but I guess they didn’t join the army to avoid fights. It is reassuring to know that there are other dragons that are tired of living in hiding. They agreed that they will stay back and be on the look out for hunters.
We have been sitting on the roof of a building playing uno in our costumes for the last hour, but there has been nothing of concern yet.
“Somebody stop him, that asshole took my phone!” Someone cries out.
We look over the scene to see a man running away from 2 women.
“I got this” Sky says and jumps downing the air to cushion his fall.
“I’m coming with you, catch me” I call and jump forcing him to catch me with air.
He uses a gust of wind to push the man back towards us and I lift up a cobblestone to make him trip. Sky and I casually walk towards him and he stands quickly looking to escape. Sky lifts him up so that his legs are running comically in the air but he is just hovering on the spot. I open up a hole in the ground underneath the man and sky drops him into it. Sky reaches down and recovers the woman phone and I close the hole, leaving only a small hole for oxygen.
“I believe this belongs to you” Sky says handing the phone back to the woman.
“Eh thank you. How.. how did you do that?” She asks tentatively.
“We are not human, but we mean you no harm. We are here to protect and help where we can.” Sky says then takes my hand and lifts us back up to the roof.
“Well that was easy. Did you guys call in the theft to the police?” I ask
“Yes, I did my best shocked witness impression, I really deserve an Oscar.” Ember says.
“Good, back to Uno then” I say.
As the night goes on, we are almost ready to give up and call it a night, when we hear another cry.
“Get the fuck off me you perv” A woman calls.
We survey the scene and see a man has a woman pinned up against the wall in an alleyway.
“Oh this one is mine” Ember says.
“I will help” Rain volunteers.
I watch on as Rain and Ember rush down the fire escape and Ember lights the mans pants on fire. The man jumps back and the woman takes the opportunity to run away. Rain puts out the fire, as Ember punches the guy in the face. Rain quickly traps him in a dome of ice too thick for him to break and I take that as my cue to call the police to let them know what happened.
“Remind me never to mess with you ladies” Hades says.
“Am I too hot for you?” Ember says
“I’m sure you are used to a girl getting wet” Rain says
“If the underworld is hell, i’m pretty sure i’m in heaven with such angels” Hades says crossing himself and thanking god.
“Alright enough you three, remember this is business” I chastise them.
“You are literally sitting in Sky’s lap right now, you can’t talk” Rain shoots back.
I jump up embarrassed and go to set up another round of Uno.
