The Elementals: Chapter 15 Home

After eating my weight in Chinese food, I mostly slept for the rest of the journey, partly due to the stress of the last few days, but more to avoid the awkwardness of sitting beside Ember in a car with her ex who kissed me only hours ago.
I’m grateful to have reached Edinburgh and the familiarity of the Karate studio where Mr Elm parks the car. Ember is staying with Mr Elm for a while since the hunters know where she lives now so we say goodbye to them and walk home.
“I will walk you home, you know, to make sure you get back safely.” Sky offers awkwardly. It’s unnecessary since I only live a street a way, but I don’t argue.
“Thanks, you can held defend me from Rain’s smothering hugs” I joke.
“Haha, I’m sure if you had your phone she would have send you a thousand messages by now” Sky says.
“Oh ye, did you pick our phones up from where we stashed them?” I ask, remembering that we hid our phones nearby before getting Ember in case they get broken in a fight. Its probably a good thing we did or the hunters would have all of my details and know all of my friends too.
“I left all of our phones with Rain, Mr Elm had spare blank ones we used on the trip.” Sky explains.
“You say trip like it was a holiday rather than a rescue mission” I say jokingly.
“Well the countryside was beautiful and we did get to camp out in nature.” Sky replies
“I used to love the views in the highlands, all the wide open green space surrounded by towering mountains, but I think this experience almost ruined them for me. It would have done completely if you hadn’t come to my rescue.” I say.
“We didn’t really do anything, you got yourself out. Mr Elm driving was most of the work.” Sky says, missing my point that his kiss was the real saviour.
“Its lucky you went to him, otherwise we might never have found out about the whole dragon thing.” I say.
“You know you took it way better than Ember and I did. We freaked out and argued until he actually showed us his dragon form. It was pretty cool and slightly terrifying.” Sky admits.
“I guess I have always really wanted to believe in magic, never wanting to admit that santa and superheroes are not real. I remember testing everyday whether I could fly if I jumped off the bunk bed even though I fell on my ass each time. I guess finding out that it is real was much more thrilling than it was terrifying. However, if I had know I could get a demonstration, I would have held out for that!” I say.
“Still you must have a thousand questions too” Sky says as we climb the stairs to my flat.
I open the door and look into his mesmerising eyes “There is only one thing I have wanted to know the answer to since you found me” I say.
“What is -“ Sky is interrupted as Rain screams and pulls my into a bone crushing hug.
“I was so worried! Not for you, I knew you would come back, but Peg stopped eating while you were gone, poor thing knew something was wrong. I hope you kicked some serious ass cause otherwise I’m going to have to track the bastards down to do it myself for taking you away! How are you? Tell me everything!” Rain tries to sound casual but talks way too fast, giving away her true concern.
I don’t respond, I’m still staring at Sky, worried that he will leave and our moment will be lost. Rain looks between me and Sky and winks at me with her back to him.
“Oh wait, now that you are back I can go see Grey and I missed his birthday because of all this, I should really go and make it up to him. We can debrief tomorrow, I will bring the pizza.” Rain says and my love for her only grows. “Sky would you mind staying to keep an eye on her?” Rain asks innocently.
“Not at all.” Sky says quickly.
Rain hugs me again whispering “I love you, I’m so glad you are safe” before heading out and leaving us alone.
“I’m going to jump in the shower, we can argue about sleeping arrangements when I’m done” I say quickly and jump in the shower before he can argue. I should be relaxing and letting the hot water soothe my aching muscles, but I’m too eager to get back to Sky so I have one of the quickest showers of my life. I dry myself and dress in my black silk night gown and check myself in the mirror. Feeling more confident I walk back to the living room to see Sky.
Sky looks up at me and obviously checks me out “that is what you wear to bed!” He says.
“Well, when I have to wear clothes at all” I reply.
Sky visibly shakes his head and looks away. “So what was it you wanted to know?” Sky asks trying to change the subject.
I smile “Why you kissed me?” I say.
Sky fidgets in the chair nervously, but when he looks at me, he stops and stands to close the gap between us “I wanted to tell you before, but everything got crazy. I had this plan, I was going to ask you on a date and then tell you… I broke up with Ember because I have feelings for you. I kissed you because I regretted not spending every minute of our time together kissing you before.” Sky says.
For a minute i’m sure he used his air powers because his words took my breath away. When I see him shuffle on his feet, anxious again, I smile.
“Why did you stop?” I ask
He doesn’t answer, instead he wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me so that me lips are almost touching his and I can feel his breath on mine. “I don’t know” he whispers and I push up on my tiptoes to seal the kiss.
I push Sky back so that he is sitting on the sofa and I straddle him. I feel his tongue push apart my lips and start to explore my mouth. I instinctively start grinding against him and he lets out a moan that only spurs me on further. I break the kiss to rip his t-shirt off and I kiss down his chest, admiring the tone of each ab muscle as I go. He kisses my neck and I moan in pleasure and the feeling. I feel the bulge in his trousers grow and I grind harder. Suddenly he stands, lifting me in the process and carrying me to my bed. He throws me on the bed and I open my legs inviting him to join me.
“We should take things slow. You need to rest and recover” Sky says through laboured breaths.
Fuck going slow, I’m pretty sure after that and not having sex for months all he has to do is touch me in the right place and I will explode with pleasure. “I don’t need to rest, but I do need you” I say.
“You are making it very hard to be responsible” Sky says.
“Well my intention is to make you very hard, not responsible” I say.
“Well you have succeeded there, but it can wait, your health and wellbeing comes first.” Sky says in his most sensible adult voice.
“Fine, but you are sleeping in my bed” I huff and get under the bed covers.
“As you wish” Sky says and snuggles in beside me.
