The Elementals: Chapter 35 Costumes
I have to admit that I didn’t know what I was signing up for when I left a tispy Rain to design our costumes. Its not that I’m not impressed, but they are a bit more revealing than I would have chosen.
I have had to wait a whole week for them to arrive and she did not once let me see the design until I tried it on. Standing in front of my mirror I feel more like a fairy than a superhero. The material is surprisingly robust, like a leather texture. The problem isn’t the material, but the lack of it. My costume is basically a vest and a mini skirt with knee high boots. The vest has a built in sports bra which I’m thankful for, but it still shows a lot of cleavage. The boots only have a small and sturdy heel which again is a blessing compared to Rains outfit. My boots are brown with green laces made to look like vines that lead to a lily flower tassle. My top and skirt look like a dark green dress with lines that make it look like grass. I have two long gloves, one brown with a rock like pattern and one black with flames at the finger tips. We all have matching masks which are more breathable than the old ski-masks I improvised with. The masks are black and designed to look like a dragons face.
While I’m a bit self conscious, I can’t argue that it does look good. All the costumes do. Sky is dressed in blue trousers, a blue t shirt with cloud patterns on it that perfectly accentuate his toned muscles and white gloves with tornado patterns.
Rain looks like a princess in a similar style to me, but hers is blue and designed to look like waves. Her blue gloves have rain droplets at the fingertips and her stiletto boots look like they are made of ice.
“I have made the fire outfit too, like you asked, but since you couldn’t give me measurements I will have to alter it to fit her” Rain says.
“Him, it is for Hades” I correct.
“Oh, oops. I assumed it was a girl friend that was joining us. Sorry.” Rain says as a knock at the door signals that he has arrived.
I welcome Hades in, but don’t tell him of the mix up. “Your costume is in the room, please try it on so that Rain can adjust it” I say trying not to smile.
I expected Hades to have a rant about how unfair his costume was, but to my surprise he emerges from the room wearing it, full of confidence.
“How do I look?” He says posing.
I burst out laughing at the sight of him in a fiery red minidress
“I was going to apologise for the mix up and offer to make you one like Sky has, but you are actually pulling it off” Rain says.
“Of course I am, I look good in anything… or nothing” He says winking and I am starting to regret putting these two in the same room.
“Rain meet Hades, I’m sure you can help him out of this clothes situation.” I say grinning at her “I have an idea about what to do with that costume though so don’t throw it away.” I add and walk out to make a call, leaving Sky looking very out of his depth with the two of them.
“Hey Ember, we have a lot to catch up on. Would you like to meet up? I have a proposition for you.” I say on the phone.
“Sure, I have actually kind of missed you guys and I have so many questions for you. I can be there in half an hour. Just please no kissing in front of me, it kind of makes my stomach churn.” She says.
“I promise, see you soon.” I say and return to let the others know that Ember will be over soon.
I don’t even get a minute to explain between the heavy flirting that is going on before Ember arrives. When she joins, after a long explanation she tries on the outfit which fits her perfectly and with all the glitter on it, it actually looks like its on fire when she twirls.
The shower of complements that Hades gives her though does not go un noticed and I’m not sure whether they will fight to the death or have a threesome if I leave them unsupervised so I quickly put an end to our meeting until our first mission.
