Chapter 122: Maddox
Bryn is almost vibrating with excitement as we drive toward the dock where a boat is waiting for us. I admit I’m excited to see what she has planned for us. My eyes move to her and I let myself drink her in when she climbs out of the van. Fuck she’s beautiful. The first time I saw her I knew no other woman would be as beautiful to me as her. When I thought she wouldn’t be mine there was a deep ache inside me. It was love at first sight, but I figured I would be doomed to love a woman I could never have for the rest of my life.
No way would I have been able to move on and find someone who could compare to her. Even with a concussion, I knew she was the one and feeling her small belly…I felt like in another life she and that baby would be mine. Crazy right? Well, I was crazy for her from second one, and I will always be crazy for her.
“She looks fucking stunning in that outfit,” Jaxon says from behind me.
“A dream.” Nolan joins in.
I grunt in agreement. I guess I wasn’t the only one admiring her.
“We’re going to marry her today. I didn’t think I would get married until I was well into my thirties, but I couldn’t marry anyone else. She’s it for me.” Jaxon muses, saying outlaid exactly what I’m thinking.
“She’s incredible,” Nolan adds in his gruff voice.
“She sure is.”
“Hey! Are you guys coming?” She asks peeking her head inside.
“We sure are.” Jaxon climbs over Nolan making the latter growl in annoyance.
As soon as his feet hit the ground he grabs Bryn and picks her up off her feet. She laughs and looks at him like she loves him before he slams their lips together and kisses her like no one’s watching.
“Asshole,” Nolan grumbles making me laugh.
“Absolutely. Want me to kick his ass?” I ask him.
He grunts. “I might take you up on that offer one day.”
We joke around about Jaxon being an ass almost daily. He is a serious spaz but he loves Bryn, so we let him stick around. If Bryn can love him then he must not be too bad.
I climb out of the van next. My back aches, but nothing a good stretch won’t fix. Bryn is moving toward me and holding out a hand to me and then looking over at Nolan offering her other hand to him.
“Come on guys I can’t wait to show you our home for the next week.” She turns and tugs us behind her.
We let her.
The others are already on the boat waiting for us. When we reach them Bryn lets go of mine and Nolan’s hand and tries to climb on board. My little short queen needs help, so I wrap my hand around her waist and basically lift her on board. Nolan follows with only a little trouble making me the last on board. The boat is small, so there isn’t much room for all of us big guys and our little woman. Sawyer is standing so she can sit next to me but I have a much better idea. I scoop her up and sit her on my lap then tilt my head to tell Sawyer to take her seat. He shakes his head but sits.
Bryn gives me an unamused look and a raised brow. “I don’t get my own seat now?” She asks.
No matter how many times she tries this stern look it’s hard to take her seriously. She doesn’t realize it but she scrunches her nose up adorably every time which only makes me smile.
“This is your seat sweetheart,” I whisper in her ear before nipping it making her jump.
“Don’t flatter yourself, big guy.” She musses but there is a hint of pink on her cheeks that she can’t act away.
No doubt my sweetheart’s head just went to a very dirty place. For fun, I slide my hand under her skirt slowly enough that no one can see what I’m doing. The other guys are talking anyway, so I can play with her a little without broadcasting it. Her hand grabs mine over her skirt and she narrows her eyes at me and I give her the smirk I know she secretly loves.
“What’s wrong sweetheart?”
“Stop teasing me, Maddy.” She says giving me a smile that is supposed to be teasing but is too cute.
Everything about her is adorable even when she’s mad which doesn’t happen often. She’s a pretty chill person, which makes it even harder for me to watch her hurting because of some asshole messing with her. I tighten my hold on her leg making her squeak.
“Sorry,” I mumble but her playful look is gone and now she’s giving me a worried look.
“What’s wrong?” She asks me softly.
“I just hate it when someone hurts you,” I admit.
She reaches up and cups my hand in her hands pulling me closer to her and kissing me sweetly. “I don’t want to think about it. I want to enjoy this time with you guys, so you’re not allowed to think about it either.”
I blow out a breath and nod. The least I can do is make this trip the best she ever had, then we can deal with the shit waiting for us back home when we get there. Hopefully, all the new additions to the house will be all set by the time we leave, because we are not setting foot in that house unless I know for sure she and Henry will be completely safe.
“Okay, sweetheart.” I concede making her smile and kiss me one more time.
I thread my fingers through her hair and hold her still deepening the kiss until we break apart and she’s breathless.
“You guys sure know how to leave a girl wanting.” She says with a weak laugh.
“I’ll never leave you wanting sweetheart. As soon as we get to the house I’ll follow through as many times as you want.”
Her eyes widen a little and she swallows at my promise.
She is going to be walking funny by the time this trip is over. We’re all too rilled up and the way her eyes darken tells me she’s ready for us.
“How isolated is this place?” I ask her.
She swallows again and clears her throat. “We’ll be the only ones on the island.”
I hum and continue moving my fingers along her soft skin. She gasps when I get close to the edge of her panties. When I don’t move forward she makes a sound of frustration that makes me chuckle.
“Gotta wait just a little longer sweetheart.”
She grumbles something and pouts. I’m about to tease her some more when something comes into view.
“Holy shit,” Jaxon says. “That’s where we’re staying? You fucking rich assholes!”
Sawyer laughs, but doesn’t reply. We’re all in too much shock to say anything.
The boat slows and the driver turns us so that we’re lined up with the dock to the island.
“So? What do you guys think?” Bryn asks proudly.
She’s already climbed onto the deck and is holding her arms wide with a huge smile on her face.
“It’s a perfect sweetheart.” I follow the guys as they take turns climbing out of the boat.
I’m last but I have plans for our girl so I push past the others grabbing her and tossing her over my shoulder.
“Dibs assholes!” I yell as I take off toward the Gian house.
Bryn laughs and playfully hits my back. “Put me down, you big caveman.”
“I will when we find a bed,” I tell her not bothering to get a good look inside when I walk into the already unlocked house.
I spot stairs which I assume lead to the bedrooms so I head that way and take them two at a time. They’re clear like glass and don’t have any handrails. It’s shaped in a slight spiral shape, and stop on a landing with a couch sitting against a glass-paned wall that looks out over the entrance. There are two hallways leading to both sides of the house, so I pick a side and walk down to the very end where there is a cracked door. I push the door open and find a fancy master bedroom. All three sides of the room are made of widows and one side opens up to a balcony looking over the water. The bed sits in the middle of the room no doubt to make sure when you wake up you can see the view from there.
“Wow. It’s beautiful.” Bryn whispers.
I forgot I had her hanging over my shoulder so I set her down. She wobbles for a second but turns and walks over to the doors to the balcony. I watch her step out onto it and the sun highlights her silhouette making her look ethereal. God, she’s beautiful. I wanted to rip her clothes off but I think I could watch her like this just a little longer. Actually…
I take my phone out and snap a picture sending it to the other before closing the door and locking it. She’s mine…for now and that’s fine by me.
