Chapter 68: Bryn

An annoying beeping noise wakes me up from a really good dream where I’m sandwiched between two very sexy hockey players. The noise comes again and I growl in annoyance.

“Shut up!” I yell out, and I hear a dark chuckle in front of me.

I crack one eye open and see a very godly looking face directly in front of me. Golden hair mused and laying over a handsome face with a big smile and stunning eyes looking at me.

Am I still dreaming?

Just to be sure, I quickly shut my one eye again and open it just a little slower, but he’s still there. The noise of someone’s alarm and the face I just woke up to has me sitting up quickly. I glance around me and…nope it wasn’t a dream. Not only because Maddox and Sawyer are both laying on either side of me, but because I’m sore everywhere. I defiantly won’t be able to do what we did last night again until after this baby is born. It was hot, but my body is objecting now.

“Don’t freak out B.” Sawyer grumbles.

I glance over my shoulder at him and see he’s still got his eyes closed and barely looks conscious. How does he know what I’m about to do if he can’t even see me?

Because you’re predictable, Bryn…

“I’m not freaking out!” I snap at him, and that’s when I catch sight of the clock on the nightstand. “Oh crap! I’m going to be late!”

I do my best to scramble off the bed, but let’s be real. I’m not anymore graceful than I was before I had a baby growing inside me. Needless to say, I get tangled in the sheets and end up falling my arms around trying to escape them.

“Hang on…hang on!” Sawyer says, and he helps me untangle the sheets so that I can climb off the bed.

Thankfully, I had the foresight of putting on a shirt before we went to sleep, but I’m naked underneath and I don’t think my professor would appreciate that. So I fast walk over to the closet and turn the light on overhead so I can quickly scan for something to wear. How is it that when you’re in a hurry, you can never find anything to wear? I spot some of my old clothes and I let myself mourn them before grabbing a pair of jeggings with a cute floral pattern and a loose white button-up shirt. I grab a pair of socks and my converse before I dash out and head for the kitchen.

There isn’t enough time for me to make a full breakfast, but I do have time to do a power smoothie, and it so happened that the baby is loving them right now, so it’s a win-win. I grab the pre-made bags of fruit and drop them in my blender. Usually I could slip my socks on as I try to look for my soy protein powder, but now with this belly I seem to be running into some technical issues.

“Forget it.” I huff under my breath and leave my socks and shoes to deal with after I’ve finished my smoothie.

It might take longer, but I have no choice now, so I walk over and leave them by the little bench next to the door. When I walk back into the kitchen, I find Maddox and Sawyer in their boxers, moving around each other like they’ve been in this kitchen for years. Sawyer hands Maddox the almond milk and he pours some into the blender while Sawyer adds the soy powder. Then Maddox starts the blender and Sawyer is pulling out a few more things and adding them to one of the eco friendly bento boxes I’m obsessed with right now.

I stand there slack jawed as they prep everything and don’t even notice me standing here. I’m rooted to this spot the whole time, but then they are both walking toward me and putting their respective items in my hands. Then they both lean down and kiss me on either cheek.

“Have a good day Little Bee.”

“See you later.”

They say over each other.

“Uh.. yeah okay.” I turn on my heels and head toward the door.

I’m in too much shock that I almost forget to leave the apartment without my shoes.

“Hang on, babe.” Sawyer calls and I turn back around to face him. “Sit.”

He points to the bench and I do as he says. I watch him slip my socks and shoes on and tie them up for me.

This is a dream. I knew it was. That’s the only explanation for the fact that Sawyer is kneeled in front of me putting my shoes on.

“There you go.” He smiles up at me and then stands just enough to kiss me and help me to my feet. “See you later. I gotta fix things for Maddox so he can stick around. He can have the room upstairs until we get a bigger bed.”

Wait…what is he saying? This is too much.

All I can think to do is nod and walk out of the door. I mean, what else can I do? I’m not sure what just happened, let alone am I able to understand the words Sawyer just said to me.

“Hey girl!” My head turns to see Tabetha heading my way from where her car is parked. “Hey, you okay?”

She rushes over and wraps an arm around my shoulder. “What happened?”

“I-I think I woke up in another universe.” I blurt out, and she gives me a weird look.

“Is this a metaphor or something because I didn’t do well in that class? I’m more of a straight to the point without word games sort of girl.” She leads me to her car, since I’m barely walking on my own.

Actually, I think I’m feeling dizzy. Crap.

“No…I don’t know. Let’s just go.” I finally get my feet moving, but she still opens the door for me.

Sawyer isn’t the only one who’s changed after finding out I was pregnant. Although no one else knows, Tabetha guessed it the second she saw me after I found out. It’s a girl thing. We can tell these things almost instantly. Maybe it’s left over instincts from when we all lived in tribes together and had no doctor around to tell us these things.

I climb in and quickly buckle my seat belt. I do my best to pull in some deep breaths, but that light-headed feeling isn’t going away. When Tabetha climbs in, I can see the worry on her face from the corner of her eye. I hate it! She turns the car on and pulls out of the parking area, and starts down the street toward campus.

“B, what’s going on? Should I be worried?” She sounds like she already is.

“No. Sorry, I was just a little stunned, that’s all.” I tell her after I take a few more breaths and calm down. “If I tell you this, I need you to swear not to say a word, got it?”

She scoffs. “I haven’t told anyone about the baby, have I? Come on girl, I have lips of steel both up and down.”

I choke on a laugh. “TMI. Okay, so one of the guys from West College got injured last night. It turns out he and Sawyer used to be friends when they were on the same team. So we took him to the hospital when no one else bothered to and stayed with him through his exams. By the way, Doctor Stalker was there too, but that’s not the biggest thing. So I guess Sawyer and Maddox had thought about sharing a girl one time and, for some reason, the idea got brought up and, well…”

There is a beat of silence while I consider whether to say this, but then she growls in annoyance. “Don’t just stop like that! Tell me!”

“I slept with them last night. As in both of them…together…at the same time…the same same time.” I try to make my point without going into too much detail.

She’s quiet for a few seconds, but they feel like days, and then she laughs. Yep.

“Holy crap! You little vixen! You got it from two hot men at the same time? Man, I’m jealous. You’re out here living your best life while the rest of us mortals have to suffer in our boring humdrum lives.”

I groan and drop my head into my hands. “I don’t know what I was doing! It was all happening so fast and I got lost in the lust. This baby is already wanting a sibling, and it hasn’t even been born yet!”

That makes her laugh. “Okay, so I doubt the super hot sex is the part that is weirding you out. So what is it?”

That’s the question.

Was it how normal Sawyer and Maddox looked like last night was no big deal? Like it was normal for the three of us to do that? And Sawyer is saying we’re going to all be living together.

It’s just too much…but maybe in a really good way.
