CHAPTER 13

KEVIN
I purposely brought her here today for a test. I know she's still very weak, but I thought I'd change my perspective about her. She hesitated at first but later agreed to. Not like she has a choice to argue with me anyway.
I lied to her that I was going to a meeting. I watched everything right from the beginning. I felt the fear in her heart when she saw Robin and I wanted to start from there. I also fooled Robin by pretending to be at the meeting.
He left for the chambers immediately I left, I felt angry that he still has the guts to go after her. I warned him and almost killed him, but the Robin I know would never listen.
I made sure my presence wasn't known. I watched as they both argued. My wolf wants me to go help her so bad but I wanted to do something before going to help her.
I watched them fight, my anger rising up. She has some skills that amazed me. Even Robin seems surprised that's she's a bit strong. She really defended herself well, yet she's no match for an Alpha without proper training.
Robin was dominating. I finally stepped in with full anger and pulled him away from her. I began to trash him and give him home breaking punches. I seized a moment to look at how badly he hurt her. He pushed me and ran away. I made to go after him but she stopped me once again.
"Please don't go." She pleaded.
Just like that I listened to her. I sighed in frustration, why is she always stopping me from hurting someone who clearly wants to kill her? I lifted her from the ground, she has a lot of wounds. I carried her on the bed and called the workers to bring me the treatment aid.
They brought the treatment in no time. I didn't say much to her as I proceeded in treating her. I cleaned her wounds and while she watched me keenly. I don't know why I became so soft with her. I am supposed to be harsh but it's hard doing that around her. She just knows how to get me to calm down.
"Go take a bath. They'll bring new clothes for you and some food to take with this herb." I told her.
She nodded.
"Thank you Sir." She walked out of the room into the bathroom.
I sat down on the couch contemplating on what to do to Robin. This nonsense has to stop. He has no regards for anyone, not even to me as the king. He disrespected me and he has to pay for this. I know my mother won't agree, her opinion doesn't count in this anymore.
"Oh my God! Kevin what happened here? I saw Robin wounded and running away. What did he do again?" I heard my sister Sheila ask while coming in.
"I think the right person you should ask that question is Robin. I've had enough of you and mother defending him." I replied harshly.
She frowned, "But..."
"You'll have to excuse me Sheila. I have things to do besides you can't just come into chambers as you please."
She scoffed and walked out of the room. I know she's angry, I don't really care. They all choose to ignore the truth and support what's bad. My father Alpha Gideon worked hard to build up this pack. I won't let my useless brother put all his hard work to waste, and ruin our family's reputation.
One worker came in with the change of clothes I requested. Sia came out a while later tying a towel on her chest down her thighs. I couldn't take my eyes off her body. She noticed the way I was looking at her and blushed.
She looked away shyly and took the clothes. She went into my dressing room and changed. Then she dried her hair. I watched her, my eyes on her body the whole time. I felt my body yearning for hers. This is hard.
"I'm done dressing up Sir. I think I'll go complete the scripts." She said.
I nodded in agreement. She went back to the scripts and continued typing while I worked on my other laptop. A worker brought her food, with the herbs I requested.
"Stop what you're doing and take that food with the herbs." I ordered.
She stopped typing and went to the table to eat. She didn't eat much as she took the herbs on time. That herbs is made by a witch to help the healing process of werewolves faster.
"Thank you Sir. I'll go continue with..."
"Leave the scripts. We're going to leave soon. Get some rest, we'll leave as soon as you're done resting."
She stared at me blankly, then sat on the couch resting her back.
"You did well today. I'm proud of you." I told her.
She blushed and looked away.
"Thank you. But then Sir, don't you have to be at the meeting? You've not gone back since you helped me."
I smirked. If only she knows I don't have any meeting anywhere. I just wanted to push her into defending herself and stop being bullied.
"The meeting's over. You have nothing to worry about." I assured her and continued typing on my laptop.
"Oh. I didn't know. Sorry for the stupid questions though." She laughed nervously.
I shrugged, "It's okay to be stupid. But it's not okay to be weak and bullied. Come on. Let's start going home."
At the mention of home her face lit up. She sprang up from the couch in anticipation to leave immediately. I shook my head in disapproval.
"You shouldn't be that happy leaving this place. This would be your home someday." I told her.
She arched a brow in surprise, "What did you say?."
"Never mind. Let's go." I walked out of the room ignoring her question.
She followed me quietly, I could hear the rate of her heartbeat as we walked through the halls and passageway. I know she's anticipating an attack from my brother. He wouldn't dare it when I'm around. I won't spare him anymore if he dares come close to my mate again.
I saw Robin's shadow lurking in a corner with his glowing red eyes when we got down. He is very angry I can feel it. Mother always lets him have his way with bullying people. He's pretty annoyed that a girl not up to his own level can stand up to him.
We got outside, I called Seth to come pick me up. I didn't go check on my mother because she's probably going to start whining about how I hurt Robin. She know he's wrong but she will keep supporting his bad work because she's her son.
"It's now gotten to the level where you don't care about checking on your mother and you leave?." She asked behind me.
I turned around and saw my mother looking more upset than usual. Of course what do I expect. She's about to defend Robin again.
"Mom, I've got to be somewhere very important and I don't have time for this. Please excuse me." I tried to be as polite as I can.
She scoffed, "Of course, you've got to be somewhere with your fling isn't it? Are you that shameless now son? You now go around with this Omega wolf from nowhere. What do you want the whole pack to think of you? Act like a leader for once Kevin!"
I furrowed my brows. Is she beginning to think in the same direction as my brother. She's supporting his dream of kicking me out of my title. I mean he's tried to battle me a lot of times but he's no match for me. I am so much stronger than him.
"Really mother? You think what Robin is doing is a sign of leadership? And I have been trying to bring peace to this pack for nothing? You think I should hand my title over to him?" As much as I sound strong, I feel hurt.
I feel betrayed by my own mother. What was she thinking?
"I didn't say that. I'm just trying to rule out the possibilities here, you're not acting like the king I know anymore. How could you hurt your own brother for this fling."
Sia kept her head down while my mother trashed her. I felt her feeling and she's not happy with what my mother is doing to get but she won't complain because of me. It's high time I let everyone know their place.
"Mother don't call her that again. I'm asking you politely. I do not want to say things that I don't mean. Just stop this and go back inside. Go help Robin nuture his wounds, I have other things to attend to than argue all day." Seth drove in front of me.
"I want you to fire her. Send her away, I don't want to see her around you anymore." She demanded.
Sia turned pale at the mention of that. Okay, I'm done controlling my anger. This is unbearable anymore.
"I believe you're joking mother. I'll take my leave now."
She growled, "I am being serious Kevin. I want that girl away from you as soon as possible!."
Right. She's serious. She doesn't expect that I'll agree right? What am I going to do with my mother. I looked at Sia, then dragged her hand. You leave me no choice.
