CHAPTER 31
KEVIN
I wanted her to feel at ease so I decided to go home. It's time I announce her to my park. I don't care if anyone is against it or not. She is my mate and the decision is mine to take. I got disturbing alerts from my subjects about what is happening to the pack supplies.
I didn't want her to get more worried so I played with her through the journey. Until I saw something strange. I had to act like I didn't see so I could confirm first. The car suddenly moved when she touched it.
I know things like that can naturally happen but this is way different. Something is not adding up about all of this.
To add to my list of problems, my mother is making things hard for me. Just what I needed her to do.
"You are not saying anything Kevin. That witch is not coming here." She protested.
I saw Sia tense up. She gasped when my mother called her a witch. It must have hurt her a lot. Not only is she a low rank wolf, now they think she is a witch.
"Listen mother, this woman here deserves some respect and I demand you give that to her. I am not joking." I growled.
Sia held my hand to stop me from saying anything harsh. She is always trying to protect the people hurting her by stopping me. I won't listen this time around, I'll put anyone that messes with her in their places.
Sheila frowned, "Kevin you are talking to mother like that. Has this girl suddenly made you lose your manners?!"
"Enough!!!" I growled loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Have you both forgotten that I am still the king, your leader? You should accord me with respect and I won't take any disrespect from you anymore. It's high time we start putting ourselves in our places." I snapped angrily.
Mother looked shocked, she never expected that I would ever say this to her. Neither did I expect her to join Robin in bullying an innocent girl who has done nothing wrong.
"Kevin. You said all that to me because of this thing?" Mom sounded hurt.
I shook my head, "I expect you to leave the way right now."
Sheila quickly dragged her out of the way. I walked past them holding Sia's hand. I felt so annoyed. My family's taking things too far and too serious. I can't continue to take this treatment from them.
I got to my chambers and locked the door behind me. I flopped down on the couch angry, why did my mother suddenly call her a witch? I know my mother doesn't want her for me, I thought that was because of her status. Now they have added something else to it. Is this due to the lies Robin is cooking up for them?
"Are you going to sit or do you want me to hire you as my new bodyguard?" I asked Sia who is standing over me.
She sat down still facing me. I know she has something to tell me. Probably to preach to me about being nice to my parents.
"You should say what is on your mind." I told her.
She sighed, "I'm sorry but I think you were too harsh on your mother. She felt so hurt, I would feel bad if my son did that to me."
"And would you bully someone's daughter too?"
She shook her head, "I can't do that but I understand her. She must have her own legit reasons for hating me. I guess she just wants the best for you as a mother."
"Is she wiser than the moon goddess who chose you for me? Those reasons are nothing when I remember that you're destined to be mine. So please, I don't want to listen to any preaching now. Unless, you want me to shut you up."
She frowned, "You always have a way of turning everything to a naughty adventure. Don't you have a meeting to go to?"
I nodded, "I do. But how will that happen when you're not ready yet?"
She raised a brow in inquiry, "Me? I don't understand. I'm dressed and do you want me to follow you to the meeting? Isn't that private?"
"As the future Luna of the pack, don't you think you deserve to know a few things about the pack?"
Her eyes glowed in expectation, "Really?"
"You're my assistant after all. You should be there."
"But I'm dressed up for work right. So... Let's go."
I shook my head. She's not coming with me as an assistant but as a queen. Does she have any idea what the royal court is like? I am not just a pack leader but a king. I guess she doesn't get the hint because I never dress or act like one.
I pressed the bell in my room. Then I opened the door and the maids walked in. They all had different materials with them.
"There she is. Be fast about it." I pointed at Sia who has a puzzled look.
They bowed for her before taking her to the other room in my chambers. I went to the dressing room and picked up a good royal attire to go with. I dressed up in no time and waited for her arrival. I don't usually need the help of anyone to dress up, unlike other people.
•••••
She walked in holding the long straight blue dress she is wearing. My mouth fell open when I saw her. She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, of course she is beautiful. Very beautiful. But everyone refuses to see that beauty and define her with something else. Her hair is adorned with flowers and her skin is radiant.
"Why are you looking at me like that? You're making me feel more awkward." She asked.
"You're beautiful, that's why I can't take my eyes off you." I replied.
She blushed and looked away.
"Thank you. But then, why do I need to go dressed like this. And you're looking... Different."
I smiled and held her hand, "Because they need to see you for the queen you are. Not the other way round. After you."
She walked straight while I followed behind. I eventually led the way holding her hand because she didn't know the way to the court. Everyone got their eyes on us, most people are wondering who she is. They would know that soon enough.
•••••
At the court, everyone is gathered including my mother and sister. I don't know what they are doing in court meetings especially today, but I know they are up to no good. Sia is seated beside me feeling uncomfortable. I held her hand to assure her.
"Members of the WhiteMoon Pack. I have an important announcement to make. I know everyone is wondering who this is. For whom it may concern, this is Anastasia. She's my mate, and that automatically makes her the Luna of this pack..."
"No! You can't make her the Luna of this pack. I refuse to let you make that bloody Omega witch a member of this pack!!!" Mother protested cutting me off.
What she just did is considered rude and has a punishment for it. But I will have to overlook everything she is doing because she is my mother. She's still the Luna of this pack too.
"Sit down mother. I am not done talking." I ordered her.
She sat down still fuming, staring daggers at Sia.
"This is the future Luna of our pack. I am going to get married to her, after I have solved the problem we are facing now. Until then, you must all accord her with respect and honor. I would not take it likely with anyone who does otherwise. Family or not. Does anyone still have an objection before we commence the meeting?"
My mom stomped out with Sheila. I looked at Sia and nudged her to say something. She stood up slightly embarrassed.
"Good day members of the pack. I am Anastasia, thank you for welcoming me into your pack." She said.
They all stood up and bowed to her. Then I commenced the meeting. I seriously don't like all the feedback I am getting from the people. The pack is short of supplies and people are getting missing. Not only that, those people don't come back alive. I know there is no vampire around.
It's going to be hard for whoever is doing this without an insider. I need to find out who that is. Everyone is demanding for my intervention, I have to conduct an investigation on my own.
After the meeting, we walked back to my chambers together. Speaking of which, I haven't seen Robin all day. Where is he and what is he up to? I won't spare him if I find out he's doing anything shady again.
"You're really stressed out. Can I give you a massage?" I heard her while she hugged me from behind.
"I'd really appreciate that. I need it. I need you." I told her.
"I need you more."
