CHAPTER 27

SIA
I woke up early the following day. He was still sleeping so I didn't wake him up. I wanted to go check up on my aunt and her kids before anything. I didn't get to see them yesterday because of my, naughty me. I gently got out of bed and went out of the room. I followed the passage to the the other part of the mansion where my aunt is.
I knocked on the door and waited for a response. This is place has more security which makes me feel a bit at peace. The door was opened by my aunt who is wearing a bath robe and looking radiant this morning. Here I was thinking she won't look good due to the trauma we both faced but I am wrong.
"Darling!" She hugged me tight I almost suffocated.
"Aunt. I am so happy to see you but you're going to choke me to death." I managed to say admist the choking.
She quickly let me go and pulled me inside. My jaw dropped on the kind of luxury they are in. There's a mini swimming pool here and a large living area. How come I have never come to this part of the house before?
Because that's not what you came to do? My subconscious mind reminded me. Wow. This place is beautiful, didn't know my Kevin is this luxurious. Funny, I'm calling him mine now.
"I'm sorry for that dear but I am just so excited to see you. Seeing the pain you sent through yesterday, my kids and I were worried." She said.
"There is nothing to worry about aunt. He took care of me and I am fine now." I smiled.
She gave me a funny look, "Sure. I know he is taking very good care of you. You look so different now."
I looked away in shyness, blushing all over my face. The kids suddenly ran towards is with my aunt's phone. They rushed to me.
"Aunt Sia! I am so happy to see you!" Keira said.
"Me too Aunt. We were so worried about you." Keiran added.
It's funny they call me aunt when I'm their cousin. It is their mother's discipline I guess, because I am so much older than they are. It's no big deal if they call me by my name though, people do that a lot.
"I am more happy to see you two my angels. You have nothing to worry about because I am well and strong. You also don't have to worry about what happened yesterday, you are not going to be exposed to any kind of danger anymore." I told them.
"Are we going to stay here forever? I actually like it here." Keiran asked.
I laughed, "You can if you want to. But there's somewhere better than this place. You'll be taken there once this matter cools off. For now, enjoy your stay here and be good. Or I won't take you out for ice cream one day."
"We swear to be good." They both chanted.
I noticed aunt is looking at her phone without saying anything. She has a terrified look on her face, I wonder what is wrong.
"Umm.. how about you two go take your baths so you can have breakfast." I suggested to send them away.
"Sure! Let's go Keiran!." Keira ran off and Keiran followed the suit.
I made sure they were out of sight before going to meet aunt.
"What wrong aunt? You have been quiet all of a sudden and now you're looking like you have seen a ghost." I asked her.
She gave me her phone. I checked the screen and what I saw made my knees weak. What happened? Could this be possible that he did this? But how? I thought he listens to me?
"This is a disaster. This would only make things worse for all of us. Why did this have to happen at a time like this?" Aunt lamented obviously worried.
My attention was fixed on the sight before me. I ran out of the room straight to Kevin's room. I barged into the room and met him coming out of the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist. If I wasn't baffled by what I saw, I would have drooled on him but now is not the time.
"What's wrong? Why did you barge in like that?" He asked obviously annoyed that I came in like that.
I ignored his questions and gave him my aunt's phone. He collected it and stared at the screen with no emotions at all. He stretched the phone back to me and made to walk away.
"Really? You're not going to comment at all?" I asked in awe.
He didn't say anything and he's acting like he knows nothing about this.
"Because I have no comment. You can believe whatever you want but I have nothing to do with setting your father's house on fire. I would never do something so low." He replied and walked into the closet.
The pictures shows evidence that he has something to do with it and he is denying it. My father sent this to my aunt telling her that Kevin set half of his house on fire last night. There are also pictures of it and amulets belonging to people from the WhiteMoon Pack. Only he has the right to order this, considering what happened yesterday.
Now he's saying he is not the one. My dad is probably furious and wishing he can kill me right now. I don't know what to believe anymore. He doesn't even feel shaken or scared that this would lead to war between the two packs.
He came out a while later fully dressed for work while I still stood worrying about the incident. I suddenly remembered that I have a job to do, aside from being his mate. I reluctantly went into his bathroom and had a quick bath. I didn't meet him at the room when I came back.
I went out of his room into mine and found something to wear. After preparing for work, I went downstairs to check on him. He was already at the dining table having breakfast. Not that it's necessary but I feel like he is mad at me for asking him. A guilty conscience flooded me. All he did was protect me and I almost got mad at him for something he didn't do.
Now I understand how sincere he is. I sat down quietly and served myself breakfast. I looked at him occasionally, his face was blank and emotionless. I guess I have managed to bring back the cold side of him. This is a part of him I have never wanted to see since he changed towards me.
"I am sorry." I said. He didn't reply and I felt bad.
I guess he's extremely angry that nothing I say would make him look at me now. I felt bad, I hardly ate anything. When he got up, I followed him. I know it is time to go to work. I suddenly remembered that I haven't returned my aunt's phone, so I gave one of the workers to give to her.
I ran after him as he walked outside. This silence is killing me. At least he should say something, there's a big issue here and all he is thinking about is his ego. Who does that? Is he not worried about what this would cause for him at all? He is the main suspect and that will only bring more trouble for him.
He didn't say a thing as we got into the car. The ride was silent as I kept glancing at him. The silent treatment is eating me up, we finally got to the office. He ignored everyone who greeted him, including Amanda. I followed him to the office and shut the door behind me. I can't take this anymore, he has to say something. I am worried and confused.
"I am sorry. Stop giving me the silent treatment and say something." I said standing in front of his desk.
He stared at me for a while, "I am not angry at you. I just need to think and find the culprit who is soiling my name."
I looked down, he's actually thinking about it and I was here thinking about myself just because of the silent treatment he is giving me.
"This is all my fault. I can't even look at you." I said sadly.
"Look at me." He ordered, I obeyed. My eyes staring directly into his.
"I don't regret anything I did for you. You don't have to worry. I will find a way around this, cheer up."
I nodded in agreement. Even though I am still thinking about it, his assurance gives me a bit of relief. Whoever did this must be trying to start a war between the two packs. He or she is setting us up but my father would never look at it that way. All he sees is a daughter who brings him disgrace and the leader of the rival pack using her.
I want this nightmare to end.
