CHAPTER 56

KEVIN
This strange guy gave saved my life and now he's guarding me. That doesn't mean my guard will be down. I'll be watching him just in case he turns out to be something else. I keep thinking about the person that asked him to come. He has a strong sense of knowing if one is in danger or not. That makes me feel better, at least.
I haven't found Sia yet, I already miss her so much. And now someone tried to kill my mother and I. That person dares to love in this mansion and still try to kill me. I'm going to get that person, I won't be so merciful when I do. That person doesn't deserve my pity at all. I'm going to kill him.
My mother has been taken to the hospital and Sheila is watching over her. This makes me so sad, and Robin is nowhere to be found. Where has he gone at this time? He's busy wandering around and could also not watch over mom for once.
I walked out of the chambers when another arrow almost hit me. Someone came like a flash and snatched the arrow. Okay this is so strange. How did he know I was going to be in danger when he wasn't even here? He literally just saved my life!
"Your majesty, are you alright?" He asked me holding that arrow, his hand was bleeding.
"You're bleeding, that thing has poison in it." I told him trying to see his hand.
"You don't have to worry about me, I am fine. You should be worried about that person who wants you dead badly." Carter replied.
I sighed, "Everytime I get in trouble, I don't see the person but you are always there to save me. Don't think about what I am insinuating. Is this true then?"
"Your majesty, I wouldn't save you this second time if I wanted you dead. I could have killed you myself, rather than go through the trouble of becoming your close guard. You trust the ones you shouldn't trust. That is why they got the chance to betray you." He said.
I scoffed, "And the one I'm supposed to trust is you. Apparently, I can't trust anyone anymore. Even the woman I love betrayed me and ran away with our child. Do you still think I should trust anyone?"
"Can we talk in private then Alpha?" He asked me.
I stared at him for a while contemplating on what to do, I decided to risk it and hear him out. We walked into my chambers, I took a seat waiting for him to start talking.
"Are you willing to believe in what I want to tell you?" He asked me.
"I'll believe you if that's the truth. But if not, sorry to burst your bubble." I replied him sincerely.
"I understand. Would you believe me if I told you someone who cares about you a lot asked me to warn you. This person is worried about you..." He started
"You keep saying that and I am yet to see who this special person is. Who is this?" I asked him.
"Your mate Sia. She saw a vision, about you and your family." He said giving me a big shock.
I got up from where I am seated and dragged him by his collar.
"What are you saying? How dare you mention her name!" I growled at him my eyes turning red.
"If you calm down, you'll learn the truth and everything that has been happening under your nose that you were not aware of before. She's not who you think she is. You have to believe she is innocent, after all the real culprit after your life is here." He said not even worried that I might kill him.
I let him go and fell back on my seat, running my hands through my hair. I feel like I'm losing my mind completely. Sia sent this guy to me? She ran away from me and now she's sending people saying she cares about me. Am I supposed to be happy about that or what?
"Your mate is not the one who poisoned your mother. You can choose to believe me right now if you want. I am a tribrid. A mix of vampire, werewolf and witch blood. I come from a line of very strong witches and I can do almost the impossible." Carter informed him. I stared at Carter unable to believe what he said.
How come I am getting witches everywhere I go? Sia is a witch, and now she sent a fellow wizard from the coven to talk to me. You expect me to believe this, ridiculous.
"Shall I take you on a short journey?" He asked.
"And where are we going to? Our dreams?" I asked sarcastically, feeling like all this is a pure joke. I don't even know what he is doing.
He smiled then put a finger on my forehead and chanted something quickly. I wanted to oppose him but I fell weak immediately and fell into a trance. My eyes closed but opened shortly after. The only difference is that I am no longer in the same place. This place is some sort of forest where rejected and rogue wolves live. That's how I feel about this place, no offense to whoever loves here.
I looked beside me and saw Carter, then I saw a cabin from afar. Is this guy playing with me? What's the meaning of this joke. I frowned at him.
"What are we doing here? Did you come all the way to my place just to practice your witch powers on me?" I growled at him again. He still remains unshaken.
"Someone special is waiting for you there. That is the only way you can believe what I say right?"
I ignored him and walked towards the cabin. I want to see this special person who ran away from me in the first place. I got to the cabin and barged in with no regards for whoever is in here. I was shocked to see the person in the room. She sat down facing the window and lamenting to herself.
She turned around on sensing someone was behind her, her eyes widened in shock when she saw me. She quickly got up and moved back scared, her face shows how horrified she is. The next thing I saw is her covering her stomach like she's protecting something there. Then I confirmed that she is truly pregnant like the doctor said.
"Kevin..." She called with a shaky voice.
I moved closer to her, I wanted to touch her, hug and kiss her to be sure this is not a dream.
"Mate. Why are you running away from me?" I asked as I caged her to the wall with no where to escape.
She looked down, her body shook which indicates she's afraid of me. I brought her face to look at me.
"You left me to come live in a lonely, shabby and dangerous place like this? Then you send someone to warn me. Do you know how I've been suffering because I couldn't see you? Why did you try to hide the baby from me?" I asked her.
"I.. I don't want you to kill my baby and I. You were going to get me executed so I had to leave. I wanted to have my baby before coming back, I would surrender myself then." She said looking into my eyes.
I scoffed, "I was never going to kill you. Why would I kill the woman I love so much with my life? Especially when she's carrying my child? I made the rules, I can break them. I want you to come back with me right now."
"Kevin please, I can't. It's not you. My baby is in danger if I stay in that place. Your brother, mother, sister and ex all want me dead. Please understand me." She declined.
"What's this? You're going to live here in this bad condition for the rest of your life? Come back with me, you won't argue." I tried dragging her hand, she hugged me instead.
My body froze, of course she knows how to make me feel weak.
"Please Kevin, I know how much you love me. That's why I couldn't stand seeing that happen to you, so I sent Carter to warn you on my behalf. You need to be careful, I don't want to lose you." She cried still hugging me.
I pulled away and kissed her, I realised that I have missed her a lot. I wish I could hold her in my arms and forget about all my problems for life.
"I don't want to lose you either. I'll let you stay here, but do you trust this friend of yours? How come he lives in a place like this all alone?" I asked her.
She shrugged, "It's a long story. He has always been here since childhood. It was tough for him but he never gave up. He's an inspiration to me."
"Oh, that's complicated. He said you saw a vision. What is this vision about?"
She sighed, "You may not believe me because they're your family. But I'll still tell you anyway. Your brother plans to dethrone and kill you. I don't know how he's going to go about it, I saw him take you by surprise. He already bribed most of your loyal servants. Especially the ones closest to you, they have betrayed you over a long time now and you never noticed."
"You should know I never trusted Robin right from the beginning. If he is planning to dethrone me, let him bring it on. I don't care, he's going to regret ever crossing paths with me." I gritted my teeth.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about Robin. You should ask him the truth about what happened to your father..."
My father? Robin knows what happened to my father for real? Does this mean he is involved in father's death?
"Not just that. You should ask your dead girlfriend if she really died and what exactly happened to your father..."
I stopped her. Okay this is becoming weird. Does this mean they know something about the whole situation? Did Nina betray me?
"Did you really poison my mother?"
She shook her head, finally denying it and saying the truth for the first time.
"I didn't poison your mother. I think that poison was meant for me but me. I took the drink back to get some juice. That's why I was accused of poisoning her. I just couldn't defend myself at that point." She explained.
"You don't have to believe me, but I beg of you, don't die. I want my baby to have a father and I want to live the rest of my life with you. I love you so much Kevin." She said and hugged me again.
"Nothing's going to happen to me. Be rest assured, I'll always be safe." I assured her unable to get my mind off the fact that Robin is a devil in disguise.
Carter comes in, "Your majesty, it's time we leave, I have to return here for real. But before then, I'll show you something."
I looked at Sia, she smiled at me.
"You should go now. We'll be back together in a few days when we sort this out."
I kissed her again, "I want you to take care of yourself and that little man in there." I kissed her stomach while she giggled.
I waved at her as Carter asked me to close my eyes. An image of her smiling is all I could see, I opened my eyes and found myself back in my room. Now this is called magic! Carter is such a wonderful magician. Now all that's left is to confront that Robin and make him confess to his crimes, Nina is not exempted.
