CHAPTER 35

"You threatened your brother? Why did you do that?" I asked surprised.
"Yes I did." He replied bluntly.
"What??" I exclaimed.
He raised a brow, "You're not about to scold me for doing that are you?"
I palmed my face. Kevin is doing this the wrong way. Now his family would be holding me responsible for whatever happens. How can he threaten his brother like that? That's totally wrong.
"You shouldn't have threatened or confronted him until you have proof that he's the one."
"You suggested to check on the people closest to me. As far as I'm concerned, he's my first worry." He sat on the couch and crossed his legs.
I stared at him in disbelief. I also suspect Robin but I can't say anything until my suspicions are correct.
"I said the people close to you. It could be anyone. Why suspect only him? Sometimes the people you think are your enemies may not even be your enemies." I protested.
"In other words, Robin is my friend and he'll never do anything to harm me? You're taking sides with him. Tell me, is there something I should know?" He folded his arms in inquiry.
I shook my head, "There's nothing to hide. I am only trying to prevent more trouble for you. Besides, your family's going to blame everything on me. They already think that I'm a witch. That's like more than enough to kill my joy."
He gestured for me to come, "Come here."
I moved over to him and hugged him, he kissed my hair.
"You've managed to impress me and make me fall in love with you. I won't do anything that will hurt you. You have nothing to worry about, you have my support now and always. No matter what happens."
No matter what happens. What if something changes? Will this promise still be there? What if things become really hard and tough for him?
"What if something unexpected happens tomorrow? Will your feelings for me still remain the same?" I asked.
"Nothing will change. I love you now and always. I am consistent with my promise."
But he used to love his ex girlfriend who is now dead. He must have promised her the same way he's doing now. He has stopped loving her, what if the same things happens to me?
"Nina is someone special to me. But she wasn't my mate. We were bound to separate the moment I found you, I loved her but not the way I love you. Stop doubting me."
Oh no. He read my thoughts, I totally forgot. You're such an idiot Anastasia. Why are you still doubting his love for you after all he's done?
"I'm sorry, I don't doubt you. I am an idiot." I apologized.
He chuckled, "No you're not. You are beautiful and amazing. Come on, let's go to bed. We have a lot to do tomorrow."
"Sure. Let's go."
We got to the bed and laid cuddling each other. I wish we could stay this way forever, it's so peaceful.

"Good morning Luna." Someone said waking me up.
I opened my eyes and met three dressed maidens bowing in front of me.
"Uhm.. Good morning? Can I do anything for you?" I asked.
They were holding different trays with different things. I recognize some as beauty products and a towel too. I still don't understand what is going on. Kevin never told me we were going anywhere or having any celebrations.
"We're here to help with your bath, massage you, give you a pedicure and manicure, and apply these beauty products for you." One of them explained.
"Oh. But I didn't ask for all that. You don't have to."
They knelt down. "It's an order from the King. We can't leave unless we do it. Please help us, have mercy Luna."
Huh? Is it that bad? I feel so embarrassed that they're kneeling down. I guess having a luxury treatment wouldn't hurt.
Kevin is full of surprises. He's a wonderful man.
"No. It's okay. You can do it but please hasten up, I'm not used to all this."
"Yes Luna."
They set to work after that. They applied different products to my body especially my bad back. They did my manicure and pedicure, with my hair also.
It took almost two hours but they did well. I had a luxurious bath and changed. They offered to do my makeup too, I accepted to avoid any further apologies.
When I checked myself in the mirror. I couldn't believe it. Is this me? My skin looks so white and radiant, I look so different and pretty. I can't wait for Kevin to see me.
"Wow. This is amazing. You girls are great!" I exclaimed happily.
"Thank you Luna." They bowed.
"That will be all for today Luna. We seek your permission to leave."
I nodded, "Sure you can. Thank you."
They bowed and left. I seriously don't like them bowing to me much. I'm not even the queen yet. Even my family has never treated me with so much respect, including when I wasn't an Omega yet.
I yawned feeling hunger creeping in.
The door opened and another set of people arrived with breakfast.
"Good morning Luna. Breakfast is served." They bowed.
I nodded, they set the table. I know this meal isn't for one person alone. So where is Kevin? I wonder where he went to this morning. Then I remembered that he's a very busy man and things won't be the same until he finds a way out of these problems.
"Do you know where my... Alpha Kevin is?" I asked them.
"His majesty is on his way. He says he'll join you soon." One answered.
"Okay. Thanks."
They went out. I waited for him to arrive anxiously at the table. Not because of how hungry I am, but because I want him to see my face. After a few minutes of waiting, the door finally creaked open revealing him.
He stopped at the door with widened eyes and mouth hanging open. I laughed, I guess he's surprised at my look too. Those girls did a pretty good job.
"Good morning my king." I said.
He snapped out of it and closed the door. He came towards me, his gaze not leaving me.
"You look so beautiful. Am I in the wrong place?" He commented.
I blushed, "Oh stop. Don't overdo it. You know I'm not that pretty."
"Yes you are. That's why you're my Luna. I always have the best things." He kissed me, I blushed more.
I cleared my throat, "Come let's go have breakfast. I don't want us to have another form of breakfast this morning."
"Wouldn't that be nice?" He flirted with me.
"No. You need your strength for any surprise coming your way. Don't be stubborn, let's go." I dragged him to the table and served our meal.
We ate in silence, occasionally glancing at each other. Then we laughed and talked about a few things. He told me he went jogging round the town this morning, he was disguised though. He needed to know more about the pack.
He must be really stressed out. While I am here receiving special treatment. I feel bad for not following him.
"You shouldn't be worrying yourself about things like that. Leave them to me to handle, it's my responsibility after all." He told me.
I nodded in agreement, I didn't want to argue so as not to stress him further.
A knock came to the door.
"Come in." He said.
Someone rushed in breathing heavily, she looks like she's seen a ghost.
"What's wrong? You look pale." I asked.
"She's here! She's here!!" The girl said.
Okay what is going on?
"Who is she and why are we so scared of her?" Kevin asked rather calmly in a sarcastic tone.
"Your majesty, she... She's..."
"Right here my love." A female voice said coming in.
His eyes widened in shock, he also looks like he's seen a ghost. My love? Who is this?
She has very dark hair and dark eyes, she's a bit tall and skinny. She's also very fair and she is quite beautiful. She is not dressed well though, she looks shabby like she's coming from a slum or an escape.
"How?" Kevin stuttered.
Who is this woman making him stutter so much? Why is no one telling me anything?!
"Can anyone please tell me what's happening here?" I asked frowning.
She turned to look at me, her brow furrowed and something like hatred filled her eyes.
"I see you don't know anything here. Well this is my man, and I'm here to take him back." She explained.
I furrowed my brows, "Your man?" I looked at Kevin for an explanation.
"What is she talking about Kevin?"
He looked at me worriedly, "This is Nina. My supposed dead girlfriend."
My eyes widened in shock, it's my turn to be surprised. His dead lover? The one who was supposed to be dead with his father? What is she doing here and why isn't she dead?
"That's right. I didn't die. I'm alive and well, I have come to take what's mine. Starting from him." She was referring to me.
This girl is so full of herself, arrogant. Now that she's here, what will be my fate???
