CHAPTER 45

SIA
A worker brought some red wine into the chambers. I don't know who ordered for red wine but I needed it. Kevin left earlier this morning to attend to matters at his office. He promised to be back in no time, so I have to eat breakfast alone. I ate breakfast alone thinking about the romantic night Kevin and I had. It was filled with so much love, I never wanted it to end.
But sadly, we both have our responsibilities. I had another argument with Nina last night. That woman won't stop bothering me, I wonder if she still thinks I'm as weak as before. I am learning to use my powers now and I could kill her if I wanted to. The only reason she's still here is because I respect Kevin.
If I had asked for her to be taken elsewhere, I know Kevin would do it. But I will take this as a challenge, I would do anything to help Kevin and not make things worse for him. I finished eating and relaxed on the couch. I wanted to watch a movie while waiting for Kevin to get back. He told me we would go to the council meeting together today.
My eyes drifted to the red wine on the table, I moved closer and poured myself a glass. I should keep myself entertained while watching the movie. I wanted to put it in my mouth when I stubbed my toe, the glass fell from my hand and shattered. I fell on the ground, the floor became messy. Oh no! I feel so stupid right now! I don't want Kevin to get back and see this.
I quickly packed the shattered glasses with my hands, I put them in the nearby trash basket. Then I got a mop to clean it up, the place looked okay after I was done. One more thing, I should take back the red wine and have juice instead. I took the red wine carefully checking outside so I don't bump into any of them. I sneaked to the kitchen, meeting only one of the workers there. I gave her an awkward smile and gently dropped the red wine, took another bottled juice and left for the chambers. I kept hoping and praying that I won't meet any of them on the way.
As unlucky as I still am, I met Nina on the way. I tried to ignore her and leave, she stepped in front of me not allowing me to go.
"What's wrong? Are you scared of me now?" She asked mockingly.
"I don't want an trouble Nina. Leave me alone." I said trying to leave, she still stepped in front of me.
"And if I don't? What are you going to do if I don't?" She asked trying to get me upset. I rolled my eyes.
"I am very sure you don't want to know what I would do. But very soon you are going to regret ever crossing my path. That's a promise! Just wait and see what happens to you all." I growled at her.
She mocked me, "Really? What are you going to do you witch? Listen to me, you are going to leave Kevin alone. That's my promise to you, you'll be knocking on heavens gate very soon witch."
What? Is she really threatening to kill me? She's threatening me with death just because she wants me to give up on Kevin. What a joke!
"That's never going to happen! Believe me, I am one step ahead of you. You have no idea what I am capable of doing, keep dreaming." I pushed her away, she almost fell on the floor but regained composure.
"You! I'll make you pay for this!" She growled growing her claws, she tried to attack me but was stopped by someone else.
"Kevin?" I called as he stepped in front of me. I thought he's supposed to be at work, when did he get back so fast that I didn't even notice?
Nina's claws almost went into his heart but was stopped swiftly by Kevin. Wow, he's super fast. Nina is so annoying. She thinks the world revolves around her, I like to see her face after Kevin just saved me now.
"What do you think you are doing Nina?!" He snapped at her.
Nina moved back in shock, she was never expecting to see Kevin around. Of course, they always love to bully me whenever they think that he is not around. Still, I would have defended myself from Nina. I need to stop being vulnerable for once and face my fears.
"She started it! I was only being nice to her and she attacked me. If you had been here for long, then you would see her push me." Nina protested trying to act like the victim.
I scoffed, "Seriously? How shameless can you be? I wouldn't even stoop so low to make someone like me you lying scum!"
Kevin looked back at me in shock, why is he looking at me this way?
"See? She hates me and would do anything to send me away. She is frustrating me just because you are on her side. Tell me Kevin, do you think I deserve to be treated this way?" She started faking tears making me more angry.
"This bitch is a piece of work. She's so shameless and keeps lying when she knows she is wrong. What the fuck is her problem?!" I thought inwardly.
Kevin looked back at me again. Sure, he's reading my mind. I don't know where I am getting the courage from but I so much hate this bitch! She attacked me first, she refused to leave even when I avoided her. Now she is lying about everything.
"I saw everything Nina. You do realize she is the Luna and can do whatever she wants to you for attacking her right?" He asked her calmly this time.
Her eyes widened, did he really see everything? How long has he been around? Kevin is full of surprises.
"I... I didn't really want to..."
"That's enough Nina. Apologize to her now." He ordered her.
She shook her head, glaring at me hatefully. "I can't do that! Don't humiliate me in this way Kevin please."
I laughed mockingly, "She can't apologise. Can you believe that?"
"You have thirty seconds to properly apologize to my Luna or you'll face the consequences. I'll authorize her to do whatever she wants with you." He warned her.
Looking around and seeing no form of support from anyone? She scoffed and decided to apologise to me.
"I'm sorry... Luna." She said and rushed out angrily.
Kevin took my hand and led me outside. I was expecting him to take me back to the chambers but he took me elsewhere instead. I thought we were going in, he's leading me outside. He led me to the garden, we kept walking until we got to a decorated tent. Wow.
I haven't been to this place before. Probably because I haven't gone out much since I always come here.
"Where is this place Kevin?" I asked him as we got inside.
"A special place where I used to relax with my father before he died. I haven't been here in months." He said looking around.
I understand how he feels about his father. They must have a lot of good memories together unlike my father and I whom all we have together is his hatred for me. That has covered any good moment I have had with him.
"Are you here because you miss him?" I asked looking at him.
He nodded, "Yes, but I am mostly here because I want to be with you. In a different place, I know you are tired of staying indoors."
He patted a chair for me to sit, then he sat down beside me gazing down at me. I had to look away as his gaze won't leave mine.
"I'm sorry about what Nina did to you. I want you to start using your authority as Luna so no one would dare bother you anymore." He informed me.
"I know, but then I can't start becoming rash. This is your family and..."
"You're part of my family now, I'm going to continue my life with you. Just listen to me. Don't let anyone bully you, the reverse should be the case instead. "
That's if can stop Robin and the rest from coming after me. They don't even respect me as the queen, how can I resist getting bullied?
"The only way you can do that is to stand up and not condole any mistakes. Once they see how fierce you have become, they would really stop bothering you." He added, reading my mind again.
I smiled, "It's good to know you care about me so much. You were being a rude jerk when I met you. You've changed so much."
He chuckled, "And you were being a very annoying girl when I met you. You have changed and became a very sweet person. I always treat the ones I love with care."
"Do you want me to play you some music?" He asked, I shook my head to be sure of what I heard. Did he say playing me some music?
"What? You can play music? What kind of music is that?" I asked curiously.
He smiled, "It's a secret. Close your eyes and count down from ten."
I closed my eyes and began counting, "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two...and one."
I opened my eyes, meeting a melodious sound in front of me. My eyes widened in surprise, I wasn't expecting to his. He closed his eyes as he played the rhythmic sound of the violin. Kevin has so many talents I am yet to discover. Who could think that this famous Alpha King is also one of the best musicians I have ever seen in my life. I watched him in admiration, he's truly a romantic gentleman.
I began to wonder if he has played this for anyone before. Right, he said his father comes here too. Probably they entertain themselves with this. My mind drifted to Nina. Why did I have to think about her now? Could it be that she also got to enjoy the sound of the music played by him?
I should get rid of the negative thoughts and focus on Kevin. The beautiful sound of the music melted my heart, he finally stopped. I hugged him tight, this is the most beautiful thing that has happened to me in a long while. I am happy to have a mate like him. Most ones would have probably rejected me, but he took me in pretending not to like me at first.
I stopped hugging him and clapped happily, he bowed in return.
"Wow! That was so beautiful! I loved it!" I clapped continuously.
He smiled, "Thanks darling. I'm glad you like it, you're the second person to see me play."
That made my heart skip, who was the first person? Could it be his father or Nina?
"Who was the first person?" I asked out of curiosity.
"My father. He taught me everything I know about musical instruments. He was a very passionate man who loved music, but the responsibilities bestowed upon him didn't let him fulfill his dreams. Instead, he took solace in doing it during his free time. I wanted to help him achieve something so I became his only student." He explained.
"Wow. That's...that's so beautiful. Your father must have been a very great man, I'm sorry for your loss."
He laughed, "Come on. He already died. No need to get too attached to him. I'm getting jealous."
"You are one of a kind Kevin." Jealous of a dead man. That's too-
Someone rushed into the tent startling me, Kevin remained unmoved.
"Your majesty! Your majesty!" He bowed on the floor.
Kevin frowned, "What is it?"
"Your majesty! The old queen! Your mother... She collapsed with blood in her mouth!" He said breathing heavily.
Kevin and I jerked up, "What?! Where is she?!"
"In her chambers your majesty!"
Kevin rushed out of the tent while I followed him. What happened to her now?
