CHAPTER 50

SIA
"It's time." Someone said opening the cell. Two people came in, one holding chains in hand, the other holding the key.
They brought the chain to my hands and legs. They chained me like a common animal, did Kevin order this? I felt like hitting them, but I have no chance. Now is not the time for action, I still have to plan ahead.
"Start moving." They said.
They chains are extra heavy, but I managed to drag myself out with it. Once we got outside, cold air hit my skin. The light shone so bright that it felt like I have been locked up for over a decade. I was taken to a car, where two guards are going to escort me. With the driver and the doctor, makes them four altogether. I looked at the window of his chambers, he was standing there as expected.
I waved at him, he didn't respond. He pulled he curtains and left instead. I sighed sadly, he surely hates me now. I wish I can do anything to stop him from thinking otherwise. He should carry out his investigations thoroughly and don't make a huge mistake he might regret for the rest of his life.
The car drove off leaving the mansion. I thought about a lot of things. What am I going to do now that I am out of the mansion? No where is safe for me. I need to be somewhere where I won't be scared to live with my baby. Of course Kevin is going to know about this child after I am done with what I want to do.
I also don't know if I am using my head or something is controlling me and making me do all these things. We got halfway the road, the lonely path where there's also the woods. The car came to a halt.
"What's wrong?" The doctor asked the driver.
"I don't know, I have to check it out." The driver replied. He got out of the car and opened the bonnet. There was so much heat coming out of the car.
The doctor and the others went to check on him when he was taking too long. The car refused to stop heating, I smirked.
Yes, that was me. I finally have control of my powers. I made the car stop, and made it overheat. I also took the keys from the other guard without his knowledge. I quickly opened the chain on my legs, I saw that the car was going down slowly. I don't have much time anymore, I jumped out of the car and started running with my hands still tied and holding the key.
I think they noticed I escaped because of the sound of chains. They chased after me, including the doctor. They all shifted to their wolf forms in order to catch me faster. I managed to shift too, running faster than before. I am supposed to be weak, but this time I got strength like never before. The chains in my hand broke up when I shifted.
They chased me for a long time till I stopped at a cliff, I know they wouldn't stop chasing me so I jumped. I do not know what is down there, but I jumped anyway. My body hit a rock and I kept rolling down till I stopped somewhere. I dragged myself, my body already bleeding from all the pain. I hid somewhere, they still came down here to look for me. I hid in a shallow place below them, I have shifted back to my human form.
I covered myself with flowers to avoid them perceiving my scent.
"We lost her. She escaped! This is terrible!" One of them said.
"Alpha Kevin is surely going to kill us. We are doomed."
I felt bad for them, they are not incompetent. I am just determined to escape and I planned all there before.
"We have to keep trying. We can't give up, we have to keep looking for her till night. There's no guarantee Alpha Kevin would spare us if we do not come back with her." They said.
"Let's go that way."
I stayed down and listened to their conversation. They are still around the place so I refused to come out just yet. I stayed there, getting weak and very tired. Not to mention I am now naked with no clothes to wear. I slept off in the process of waiting for them to leave. By the time I woke up, it was already dark.
"They must be gone by now." I thought.
I gently came out, using large leaves to cover my private parts. I looked around cautiously, hoping to find something to cover myself. It was really late, I am weak and hungry. I kept walking to nowhere, looking for something to eat. I heard footsteps coming closer to me, I quickly hid somewhere.
I stayed down covering my mouth to prevent me from being caught. It seems those men did not leave. They won't give up until they find me. I won't let them find me either. I closed my eyes waiting for a miracle, instead someone held my hand.
I jerked up quickly pushing the person away. I began running with all my might, yet I am too weak to continue. I slowly fell on the ground, I tried getting up to no avail. That person caught up with me, he put his fire in front of me. My vision is blurry so I can't see what is happening. I slowly started to lose consciousness, darkness engulfing me.

A stench aroma woke me up from my sleep. I turned, having aches all over my body. What aroma is this, like some herbs or something. Wait, herbs?
I opened my eyes and found myself in a strange room. I looked around and found nothing familiar, what am I doing here? Is this the hospital the doctor wants to take me to? The door opened, a strange man walked in. He looks so good looking but unfamiliar. He's also strangely dressed in black robes called clothing.
"You're awake." He said coming close to me.
I quickly took something from the table beside me, "Don't you come near me! Who are you?"
"I should ask you that question? Who are you? And why are you wandering around with no clothes?"He replied.
That's when I realized I am naked in front of him. I screamed and used the sheets to cover myself well.
"You pervert! How dare you touch me?!" I yelled feeling cheated and embarrassed.
He chuckled, "You were dying. Would you have preferred I showed some decency and watched you die? Perhaps that would have been better."
I scoffed, "Why did you save me? You clearly don't know me."
He took a seat beside me, "Yes I know that. I also know you are running from people, you called for help so I came to your rescue."
Called for help? When did I call for help? Right, I prayed for a miracle. Is this man some sort of wizard or something?
"How did you know where to find me? What exactly are you?" I asked again.
He chuckled, "I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself yet. The name is Carter, I live in this jungle. This is where I grew up so I know every corner of this place. I can set a trap for anyone I wave to. I can also kill anything I want to. Welcome again to my home."
I looked around the small cabin we are in. It is made of rough wood from the trees and has no modern amenities. How did I end up in a place like this?
"Umm... My name is..."
"Anastasia. An Omega wolf with the powers of her great grandmother Reina who is one of the greatest witches of all time. Glad to meet you." He cut me off leaving me speechless.
What? How did he know everything about me. Who exactly is this man! He said the things that even the ones closest to me do not know.
"How did you know so much about me? Who exactly are you?" I asked curious.
He smiled, "Just a normal tribrid. I am a mix of werewolf, vampire and witch blood. I know everything about anyone the moment I see them. I know you were running away from the people escorting you to the hospital. I distracted them for you and made them go away."
Wow? I am meeting a tribrid for the first time in my life. He knows so much about me already. What else is left for him to know about me? By any chance, does he know about the pregnancy too?
"Yes, I do. I know everything about you Sia." He said reading my thoughts.
He even called me my nickname. This is more serious than I thought. He knows everything about me, what's going to happen to me now?
"Are you going to turn me in? There must be a good reward for whoever finds me now, are you going to give me away?" I asked worriedly.
He stared into my eyes, his greyish eyes boring into mine.
"Do you think I am interested in things like that. If I was, I wouldn't be living in a place like this. I don't care about the materials things of the world. I don't want to live with humans, they are evil and don't deserve to live." He said.
Why so much hatred for humans? I wondered. If he hates humans so much, then it means I could be safe here for now. Werewolves are not humans either, but I think he hates being around people.
"Umm... Thanks for saving me Carter. I don't know how to repay you for this kindness." I thanked him.
"You don't have to thank me. I am only doing what I feel is needful. You're just like me after all." He replied.
"You must be hungry, I got us something to eat. I am also preparing some herbs to make you and your baby strong. This would also help your wound heal up fast." He added.
I nodded, "Can I also get something to wear?"
I feel so embarrassed asking that question. He bobbed his head then stretched his hands, a pair of neat white clothes appeared in front me. Wow! His powers are so good. I wonder what else he can do.
"My powers are nothing compared to yours, if you can learn to activate and control it." He said again reading my mind.
Okay this is also becoming annoying.
"Can you also quit reading my mind?" I snapped at him without knowing.
He chuckled, "You should probably not think out loud if you don't want me to read your thoughts. It's a special ability I can't control."
Right, he has the ability from three different places. He is such a lucky man. He went out of the cabin, then came back with a big dead deer. I moved away in disgust, I could eat it raw on normal occasions. Now I feel like I can't, I need it cooked. Sadly I am craving for it, he's such a good hunter. I wonder what pack he belongs to.
"I'll get this cooked and brought to you in no time. Here, drink this. It will make you feel better and relaxed. Your wounds would heal very fast." He stretched a wooden cup to me. The stench aroma hit my nose, this is so disgusting.
How am I supposed to take this? I collected the cup from him staring at the content. He waited for me to drink it, urging me to take it. I closed my eyes and emptied the content into my mouth. I felt a sharp pain in my body. I shook it off, and felt much better. Wow. This worked like magic, I don't feel weak anymore.
"Thank you." I said to him.
He smiled and walked out of the cabin. Luck is finally on my side.
