CHAPTER 17
AUTHOR'S POV
Annabelle walked into her room filled with so much rage. Her two sons were giving her so much headache. They were much easier to control when their father was alive. But now everything is an impossible dream because of what is happening between them.
She rang her bell and one of the workers came in with a bottle and glass of wine. She opened the wine and poured herself some.
Sheila walked in just then, she saw her mother taking wine and already guessed what happened. She collected the wine glass from her mother and sat facing her.
"This is not going to solve our problem mother. We need to think of a solution to my brothers dispute." Sheila said.
Annabelle sighed, "As if that is not enough problem to worry about?Your brother had to give me cold shoulders in front of the Omega."
Sheila arched a brow, amused.
"Really? Are you saying my brother disrespected you because of her? Why would he do that?"
"Apparently, he's your brother's mate. She's going to be the next Luna." Annabelle blurted out.
Sheila gasped, "Mother! Stop saying that. I'm sure you got into a heated argument with him and that's why he said that to you. You should give him some space. Robin is to blame in some parts too."
Annabelle shook her head. Is it that Sheila is too daft to understand what she's saying or she's pretending not to understand? Of course she can pretend since Kevin is doing the unbelievable.
"Do I look like I will use the affairs of our kingdom or family as a joke? Your brother told me to my face that she's his mate and there's nothing I can do about it."
Sheila laughed, still taking everything as a joke because she refused to believe it.
"But mother, you know how angry Kevin gets. He probably said that out of anger and you're taking it seriously."
Annabelle got up and picked her phone, "There's only one way to find out. I will not lose twice."
She called her best friend Carla, who is a witch and lives on the other side of town. She hopes that Carla would give her good news and find a solution to ending the madness her son has started.
"You should calm down a bit mother. You're getting yourself worked up over something that you know might be a joke." Sheila advised seeing her mother move from left to right.
She was doubtful too. She doesn't know if Kevin would ever joke about something like that. Everyone knows Kevin and his cold personality, there must be a reason to him acting that way in front of his mother. Whatever his reasons are, she hopes that a demoted Omega would not take the place of her or her mother.
"You want me to calm down when everything is eating me up. Just look at how your brothers plan to end me in just a short while." Annabelle lamented.
Sheila walked out of the room to get the witch as she thought trying to convince her mother would not take any effect. She loves both her brothers and their conflict always hurts her. Robin is not making things easy but she believes everyone has their own flaws and that's Robin's flaw.
She waited at the entrance to the mansion for a while. She saw her mother's car drive in. Then Carla came out of the car dressed casually with a bag in her hand. That's where she keeps her tools. Carla's on a low profile so not much people know she's a witch. Especially not the werewolves.
"She's waiting in her room." Sheila said to Carla.
They both walked back to Annabelle's room, where she sat down still restless. She got up anxiously when she saw Sheila walk in with Carla.
"Oh I'm so glad you're here Carla." She hugged Carla.
Carla dropped her bag and sat beside her, "You sounded disturbed on the phone and now that I'm here, it's confirmed. What is happening Anna?."
"You have no idea how disturbed I am. My son Kevin, he just claimed an Omega as his mate." She blurted out.
Carla arched a brow, "No offense but isn't that his destiny? I mean you were told before that he's going to be mated to someone below his level."
That's when Annabelle remembered the prophecy. She had long forgotten about that and at that time never expected it to be the lowest level. She had though that maybe it will be a beta wolf or so. Even at that, there's something about Kevin's assistant that's not right.
"I know Carla. But we can't let that happen. We're part of the top pack in all of the world, we can't have a helpless lowlife as our luna." Annabelle replied.
"What's even worse is that her own pack rejected her. She's not from our pack, how can we trust her?." Sheila added.
Carla and Annabelle turned to look at her.
"How did you know about this?" They both asked.
Sheila sighed, "I know because, I did my investigation right from the first day she came here. I wanted to know what's so special about her that my brother let her close to him. But I never imagined that he'd want to make her his luna. I still see that as a joke though."
"You should do a thorough check on this girl Carla. I want to know what kind of person she is. You're the most powerful witch I know, you have the power of magic, sorcery and a seer. You should be able to do it."
Carla smiled, "Don't worry dear friend. That's nothing compared to what I've done before. It would only take me a few moments. Let me set my things up."
She got up taking her bag with her, she went to the centre of the room and sat down. She brought out her candles, crosses, chalk and all other materials. Annabelle and Sheila watched from behind while she set things up. She begins to chant some words and the candles lit up themselves. She continued and went into a trance.
She suddenly opened her eyes a while later. She got up and walked back to Annabelle and Sheila.
"What did you see?" Annabelle asked impatiently.
"She's a hybrid. No one knows because she doesn't manifest her powers in anyway. She's a threat to this pack and your son." Carla explained.
Annabelle clenched her fists, "I knew that girl was no ordinary being. She had something up her sleeves and all those innocent act is just to get people to trust her."
"She's a very powerful witch. One of her ancestors was a hybrid during her time. She was killed by someone from this pack, she promised to come back and get her revenge on this pack before she died. That girl is her descendant, she has powers beyond her imagination. She only shifted as an Omega to fulfil the prophecy, people would underestimate her and that would be her advantage."
"I know of the werewolf who once killed a witch. We've heard stories of it. But I thought it's just a myth." Sheila said.
"It is not a myth Sheila. It is real. But there's no way I am going to let that girl destroy anybody from this pack."
"She doesn't know how to use her powers yet. Her ancestral spirit is yet to manifest and it's getting close. It's going to control her and make her get the revenge even if she doesn't want to."
Annabelle got up. "I have to avoid that. They've gotten close enough so I think it's time to separate them."
Sheila shook her head. No werewolf would let go of his mate like that without a good reason. And Kevin would find it difficult to believe them considering what happened today.
"Mother we have to think about something else not separate them. You can't do it and even if you did, that would give her more than enough reason to come after our pack."
Annabelle saw sense in what Sheila said. Of course the only solution to this problem is to completely get her out of the way. Now that she has no power over herself, they can easily get rid of her before her powers manifest.
"You have to be careful in whatever you're planning. This is going to be a tough fight, there's more tragedy on the way aside this girl. Only standing united and strong will get you out of this." Carla said.
"Do not worry about the solution Carla. I already have a plan in mind. No one would suspect a thing and as for her pack, we'll take care of them. The main thing is to secure this family." Annabelle assured.
"How do you plan on doing that mother? You know Kevin is not going to let anyone near her." Sheila asked.
"You're thinking like a kid Sheila. I am your mother and I want you to trust me. I know what I am doing. The best way to get your enemies is to bring them close to you, just watch and learn."
