CHAPTER 108: PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

The most awaited moment for me has come forth. Today is the day when Lewis and I will be flying to the Maldives together with some police to finally capture Nicole. The past few days of waiting had really made me keyed up and on tenterhooks, thinking of what would happen once I came face to face with the killer of my father. I must admit that I had been feeling mixed emotions all boiling inside of me in one particular and unrelenting wave. 



I woke up early. The sun had barely risen, yet here I was standing in front of the vast open space, looking up above with tears in my eyes and body shaking for unknown reasons. I couldn’t sleep soundly as the upcoming arrest of Nicole made my mind restless the entire night. 



Finally, after everything that had happened to my family, the days and weeks of mind-numbing searches and the dreary efforts to locate the culprit, it all came down to this moment. It would be in just less than a day more, and I can truly have the peace I yearned for my father to achieve. Although Nicole’s captivity wouldn’t bring back the life of the person who gave life to me and gave me a new beginning, at least I had fulfilled my sworn oath to him, which would grant me the peace I also deserve for myself. 



“Why were you up so early, Baby? Is something the matter?” 



A loving smile appeared at the corners of my lips as I felt Lewis’ warm embrace snaking around my waist from behind. I wrapped my arms at his and gently leaned back on his chest without removing my gaze at the still dark sky. 



“I couldn’t sleep” He didn’t respond, but his sighs and how he pecked a kiss on my hair were enough for me to tell that he is worried sick about me, which he always did, especially since the time of daddy’s death. “I want to pull the hands of time, so I could finally behold the moment where the cops physically arrest and handcuff that lunatic. I have been yearning for that moment for such a long time now. It seems time had suddenly slowed down and every minute that passed was like thorn floggers that slashed me in agitating torments.”



“We have gone this far, Penelope, for you to be impatient now. It would be just a matter of hours before Nicole could finally pay her debts to you and to your father. We just need to be a little more patient with it, because what will occur in the coming hours is definitely inevitable. Believe me, Baby. All this restlessness, this anxiety that was caking inside of you, the claw of disturbance you are feeling will all be done for. Everything will finally come to an end, and I am extremely glad that it will finally be over.”



Lewis was right. I just have to wait for a few more hours and all of this nightmare will come to an end. I had come this far and had been severely in turmoil for months to let myself be anxious for a single day. I had suffered enough already to let my most awaited day ruin me. 



I withdrew a deep breath before gradually facing him. He looked down at me with all the love his beautiful eyes could express towards me. I smiled wider before tiptoeing and granted him a feathery kiss. My heart was bursting with unfathomable love for him. I was indeed lucky I found such a man like him. He didn’t merely love me with everything he could, but he had become my pillar of strength and my anchor during my struggling times. And I couldn’t thank him enough for simply being by my side from the time I met him. 



“Thank you, Lewis. I couldn’t have done anything without you, without your help and without your presence. I am forever grateful to God that our paths crossed. Thank you so much, Baby, it really means a lot to me knowing you are here for me.”



“I would do anything for you, Penelope, you know that, right?” My head automatically nodded as the back of his hand softly caressed the side of my face and his eyes gazed at me like I was the only woman he had set eyes upon his entire existence. “I love you so much that I am willing to die for you if necessary just to protect you.” 



His heartfelt words totally uplifted me and I could feel my heart suddenly had wings and was soaring now in the heavens. I certainly couldn't ask for more. Amidst what happened to my life, all the pains and sufferings I encountered and felt, who would have thought an angel would be sent to my path that would recourse my life into something I never expected would ever occur? I am literally drowning now in a sea of bliss that made me kiss him passionately. Our lips intertwined for minutes, pouring our hearts' contents. It felt right being with him. And I never wanted to be away from him, even for a second. 



“I love you so much, Lewis.”



“I love you more, Baby, and I am enormously happy I found you.”



He gently swept me off my feet and slowly walked inside while brushing butterfly kisses on my lips. By the looks in his eyes, I knew what he wished for right this very moment and I couldn’t deny it in me that I also felt the same. He led me to my room and once the door closed behind us, his light kisses became needy and fiery. He laid me on top of my bed and started to shower me with urgent and hungry smooches. His hands started touching parts of me that further ignited the building fire in me. He was patient enough to explore and stimulate my body, which completely drove me crazy as I wanted more of him now more than ever. 



“Lewis…” 



“I know, Baby, but you need to be a little more patient even at this point as I desire to take my time in worshiping your body first,” he murmured as his fiery lips traveled down to my belly, making my head spin in torments of desire and ecstasy. 



I could feel my center damping as his lips continued to tease my feverish flesh. He was indeed taking his time and this was making me frustratedly yearning to be invaded by him even more.



“Please, Baby, I can’t take it anymore. I want you so badly in me.”



“Patience is a virtue, my love. I will give you what you desire the most, but I need to satisfy my hunger first by pleasuring your body until it screams in helpless surrender.”



After a long agonizing wait to be filled, I cried out in pure gratification as he let himself in into me in one swift yet highly fulfilling entry. All my frustrations vanished as he started to move his hips. Every plunge he made was deep and full of love that made me reach my peak in no time. He continued his pace, not aiming to stop, as I felt my body ignite all over again underneath him.
