CHAPTER 120: THE TIME HAS COME
This is the day that all of us are anticipating. The day where the ransom money will be handed to us by Penelope. The day where all of my most craved dreams will finally come to reality. The day where I will be branded as a millionaire and the day that I could finally avenge myself from what that woman did to me in the past. The time has come.
Call me whatever bad aliases anyone wants to name me, but I don’t give a fuck. My bones got ashen and my attitude towards life worsened because of her. She started everything. She was the root of all my evilness. She pushed me to be who I am today. If she hadn't ruined my life before, none of these would occur to both of us.
But since everything cruelly happened to me and my unchosen path was laid upon me drastically, I had no other choice but to fight for what I believe is the right thing for me to do. And that is to ruin Penelope’s life to the best of what I could master.
My entire being was thrilled and all pumped up. Hours from now, the said delivery of the most coveted amount will take place. I am currently walking back and forth as I await Ivar and his men, watching them closely as they are now preparing everything that is needed for the said meetup with Penelope.
Michael, on the other hand, was with Michelle in her secluded room. He was always with her, almost most of his time from the day they got reunited. But I perfectly understand him, he misses his daughter so much. Any father would. That is why I let him spend quality time with my niece, he deserves it as well. After all the pain and suffering he also had been through because of her, we both deserve to be finally happy and to live peacefully.
“Everything ready?” Ivar spoke with authority, while gazing at his busy men.
“Almost, Boss!” One of his ever-loyal subordinates answered abruptly.
“I want everything done in an hour. It’s almost time. We have to be there ahead of schedule to secure our post. We will leave in an hour, so everyone hussle! Move those fucking asses!” He continued before glancing at me, smirking handsomely like a bad boy heartthrob and started walking towards where I stand. “So, are you and your boyfriend ready? We will leave as scheduled.”
“We are, Ivar. But how about his daughter? Will we bring her along?”
“Do you guys want us to bring her along? I thought you said that your lover wishes not to hand the girl to her mother? Did he suddenly change his mind?”
“No, he didn’t. He will stick to what he wants. He will not hand back Michelle to Penelope.”
“Then that answers your question, beautiful. I will have someone watch over her here while we are away. Then after we get the money, we will return here so you guys can fetch her and be off to wherever you wish to go.”
“Will this work, Ivar? I mean, we all know here that the police will tail Penelope regardless if she told them not to.”
“Just trust me and my men, Pamela. Those cops have no match with us. We are smarter than them. We’ve been in this fucking business for decades and there’s never a time where we got caught, not a single bit. Just stick to what I told you to do. Stay inside the car, both you and Michael. Let us do our job and you will have your money before this night ends.”
“Alright.”
Although Ivar assured me that everything will be alright and he was as confident as he seems, there was still an ounce of doubt and fear inside my heart. I couldn’t deny that there is a part of me that is afraid now if things get out of hand later.
Conniving with these criminals also branded Michael and I as one of them. We are now criminals. The day I hooked myself with these evil and heartless men, I was considered to be a criminal. And criminals have a huge place behind bars once caught. That’s what I am afraid of right now. Although Ivar gave me the assurance, things may still fucked up and that’s one thing I don’t ever wish to indulge myself in.
Actually I am already having second thoughts if Michael and I should be with them at All Star Arena later. Honestly, I am having cold feet right this very minute. We could just simply wait for them to return here with the money and we aren’t required to come along. But these are criminals and cannot be trusted. They might screw us up and flee with our money, so we don’t have any choice but to go with them.
I just hope that all will be well as planned. That regardless if there will be several police in the vicinity, which I knew there would be, the plan will be executed smoothly.
“Are you having second thoughts about coming along, Pamela? You and Micahel could just stay here, together with the girl, and simply wait for our return.” I gazed at Ivar, who was staring at me intently as if he had just read my mind. “You looked agitated and uneasy.”
“We will come along, Ivar,” He laughed out loud that echoed within the compact space.
“You don’t trust me, do you? You think I will screw you and take your money with me. Am I right?”
“I didn’t say that.” I responded swiftly and looked away.
“Yes, you didn’t. But your actions and the way you look at me says it all. Listen Pamela, and listen to me well. I may be a criminal, but I am a man of my word. If I told you that we will split the money in half, then that’s it. Now you just have to trust my words, because it's stronger than oak.”
I met his eyes. He stared at me with intensity, letting me analyze him and the truthfulness of what he just stated. After minutes of eye contact, he just walked away with a parting word that somewhat shook my senses.
“Trust is essential, beautiful. Without it, there’s chaos.”
