CHAPTER 82: SO UNTIMELY

I woke up feeling light, refreshed and totally content. Although my body, especially my private parts were still sore from last night’s intense and ground-breaking experience, I felt so rejuvenated and extremely energized. My lips had a mind of their own as they smiled with glee the minute I opened my eyes.

What happened the night before was utterly unbelievable and undeniably indescribable. Words could not explain how wonderful and fulfilling the feeling was. Lewis had really made my night unforgettable and intensively special. I could feel my cheeks flushing now as I recollected what occurred to us.

He didn’t merely bring my body to life and made my soul soaring in heavens, but he exceeded Michael’s zealousness and tenacity in every way imaginable when it comes to pleasuring and stimulation. I could still feel his massiveness in between my thighs at this moment that made me blushed even more.

I never expected it to be this breathtakingly gratifying. All along I thought that what Michael did to me before was the most highly intense feeling I could ever be experiencing, that it was the zenith of bliss and pleasure, but I was wrong. Lewis exceeded Michael’s skills and performance, not just by a few, but extremely far beyond his. He made me feel what it was like to be completely satiated and enormously loved. He did everything to please and worshiped me the night before, which made me love him even more and thankful for loving me in return.

Still floating in ethereal peace and exuberance, I leaped out of his bed and decided to head to my room to freshen up. The entire household was in utter silence when I went out of his room. It was as if no one was around as no noise could be heard everywhere. I didn’t even bump into anyone as I headed towards my room, which was quite a bit odd. Normally, at this time of the day, several servants can be seen loitering around the mansion, but today was quite different as I haven’t seen a single soul on my way. Thinking that everyone must be busy downstairs, I entered my room and did what I must.

After a much needed bath and dressing up, my feet automatically strode out of my room and swiftly went to the dining room. My stomach was rioting and craved to have something. The occurrence the night before made me profoundly famish that I could probably eat two full plates now. Two servants immediately attended to me the moment they saw my presence sitting at the dining table. Once the dishes were out, I started ravishing the foods in front of me to alleviate my hunger.

It was almost lunchtime so I was expecting some company minutes from now to join me at the table, but time passed and not a single one appeared, which literally made me think as I chewed my food. My curiosity about the oddness around me got intensified when I witnessed how the servants look. All of them appeared to be gloomy and utterly quiet, none of them talked and there was no sign of any enthusiasm in them. This made me inquisitively concerned and made me voice out my inquiry.

“What’s going on? Why does everyone seem to be suddenly voiceless today? And where’s everyone? Were my father and Lewis at the empire now?”

“Uhm… Sir Lewis is currently at the hospital now, Miss Hunt. As for your father…” My eyebrows arched the minute Sarah’s voice trembled and her eyes became misty.

“Oh, so they’re at the hospital now. I didn’t know daddy had a scheduled appointment today, must have slipped his mind to inform me last night. How about Mr. McConnery and my daughter?”

How she swallowed hard before responding didn’t escape my eyes, which even piqued my curiosity. “Mr. McConnery is with Sir Lewis, Mam, and so was little Miss Michelle and Carol.”

“Really? That’s a bit odd” I quizzically exclaimed as I stared at her speculatively, studying her facial reaction with anxiousness. “Is something the matter, Sarah? You look rather strange, are you alright? Is there any problem that you are facing right now?”

“None, Miss Hunt,” She shakily conveyed, then seconds after, beads rolled down from her gloomy eyes, which abruptly alarmed me.

“None? Why are you crying then, Sarah?”

I watched her as her body began to shiver as if a severe cold begets her entire system as her eyes continued to shed tears. Her reaction deeply bothered me and I was about to ask a series of questions to her again when I heard Lewis' voice from afar.

“Is Penelope awake? Where is she?”

With the way he utters those words, it seems something was wrong and not in order. The pitch of his tone was laced with worry and urgency, which made me lean back and sternly observe my surroundings. Sarah swiftly left with her head hanging low and still crying.

‘What's going on? Why does almost everyone seem to be acting strange today? Had something happened while I was in deep slumber? Was there something that they knew that I didn’t? This was definitely a strange day for everyone. Why is that?’

The minute Lewis entered the dining room, his stares immediately found mine. He stood at the entrance with uncertainty as if he wasn’t sure if he would approach me or not. There was something in his eyes that made my curiosity and anxiousness grow bigger. They bore unfathomable sadness and even his eyes were gloomy and misty, which made me conclude that something must have happened that everyone knew except for me.

“What’s the matter, Lewis? Why does everyone seem to be acting out of the ordinary today? How’s Daddy?”

He was about to open his mouth when my daughter appeared out of nowhere and came rushing towards me, eyes bloodshot with tears and she was sobbing gravely.

“Mommy!” She cried and hugged me tight the time she reached me.

“What is it, Baby? Why are you crying? What’s wrong? Tell Mommy, Michelle, what’s the matter?”

My entire being was deeply confused and in utmost turmoil. My mind was rattling in uncertainty as everything that surrounds me seems to appear as a huge puzzle in my eyes. First the servants, then Lewis, and now my daughter. I can’t grasp the commotion this entire household was actually letting me see.

“Grandpa’s dead, Mommy! Grandpa Handsome is gone!” She shrieked, wailing in my arms, which made me freeze from where I sat.

I felt the whole world collapse right before my eyes as I gazed incredulously at Lewis, who was now tearing with sorrowful beads as his shoulders shook. My tears streamed down unconsciously as I eyed him with disbelief, unable to speak as I could feel my body convulsing with uncalled for chills.

“No! This can’t be true, right Lewis? How could this be? Dad’s condition was progressing! He was alright last night! No! None of these were true! Tell me it’s not true, Lewis.”

I could feel myself shattering as words came out from my lips. My whole body was shivering as I dearly held Michelle, who was sobbing and wailing endlessly.

“It’s true, Baby. You’re father’s gone. I took him to the hospital the minute I saw him lying unconscious and breathless this morning.”

“NO! HE CAN’T BE DEAD! HE PROMISED ME HE WILL LIVE LONGER FOR MICHELLE AND I! YOU’RE LYING, LEWIS! WHY DO ALL OF YOU HAVE TO LIE TO ME! DADDY’S ALRIGHT! STOP PRANKING ME AND TALKING SHIT! HE CAN’T BE DEAD! OH GOD! YOU CAN’T DIE, DADDY, BECAUSE YOU PROMISED ME YOU’LL SEE MICHELLE GROW!”

Tears fell down from my eyes in rapid succession. I am having a hard time breathing properly as my body continues to shake vigorously. My mind can’t seem to accept what I heard and so was my heart.

I felt Lewis’ arms wrapped around me from behind. He leaned his head on my shoulder as I heard him weeping and telling me words to somehow soothe away the grief and pain.

“I’m here, Penelope. I will take care of you and Michelle now, just like what I promised to your father. You are not alone in this, Baby, I am here and I will never leave your side.”

“It’s not true, Lewis. Please tell me the truth. Daddy’s still alive, right? He’s not dead. Take me to him, I want to see him now. Bring me to him, Lewis.”

“Hush, Baby. Everything will be alright.”

“How can everything be alright? We barely had time together. I barely had ample memories of us. Why does it have to be so untimely? Dad! Why did you have to leave me this sudden?” I desperately cried as my line of sight started to get blurry and my surroundings started to move. I felt myself feeling light-headed and somewhat afloat. Then out of the blue, blackness takes over, which causes my body to numb and limps in Lewis’ embrace.
