A Date
Isabelle
Apparently, Kaden was avoiding me today, again. Not exactly like yesterday, even more than it. I hadn't seen him the whole day except for the morning, my mood was dropping inch by inch.
There would have been something to comfort me if he wasn't at home, but despite being at home he was not in my sight. God knew, what he was doing or up to because I hadn't searched for him and at some point was allowed to search for him because of Cassandra and Jason who kept me busy with different tasks such as watching a movie on the tv and rarely joining them in the Kitchen.
Carter was peacefully munching on his snacks on the other sofa, and I fiddled with the pages of the book in my hand severely missing Kaden's warmth that hadn't engulfed me since morning.
It was nearly night, the sun was nowhere to be seen even the orangish hint was nowhere to be found.
Cassandra's eyes fell on the clock and her mouth formed an 'O' and her eyes flickered as if the hand of the clock as if the hand of it setting at the 9 had reminded her of a crucial task.
"Jason, we should start going," She stood up from beside me and Jason too looked at the clock and immediately nodded, the recognition had passed through his eyes.
"Carter! stop eating like a pig and get up," Jason spoke and the frown settled between Carter's brows but he nonetheless stood up smoothing his shirt that had crinkled due to the position he was sitting in.
"Where are you all going?" I asked, confused.
My question brought their attention toward me.
"We are going out to eat, sweetheart," Cassandra answered, "We'll be back soon."
"The whole day Kaden is ignoring me and now You three are leaving too?" The pout formed on my lips automatically.
Jason let out a small laugh and sat beside me, "Kaden is not ignoring you, Buttercup," Smiling he ruffled my hair," He is planning something special for you."
"I don't believe you, he must be busy with that annoying stupid device. He seemed to love that stupid laptop." I responded, the small huff slipping past my lips at the end of the sentence.
This time Cassandra was the one to let out a laugh, she also sat beside me and took the book from my hand putting it on the stand beside the sofa.
"Sweetie, do you really think Kaden will prefer spending time with a lifeless device rather than his soulmate?" She chuckled shaking her head, "He is head over heels in love with you."
Her statement brought the pink tint to my cheeks and the strange feeling bloomed in my chest. The word 'Love, left its own profound effects on my entire existence.
Kaden loves me? The question itself had more certainty and rising anticipation to thaw the ice coating my insides.
Cassandra must have noticed my blush so she smiled and caressed my cheek, "After we leave, you'll find a bag in your and Kaden's room, it has a gift Kaden brought for you. You'll wear them and go to the balcony on the opposite side of the mansion. Your mate is waiting for you with a surprise."
I bit my bottom lip to stop the smile that fought to appear on my lips, "He had planned a surprise for me?"
"A big one, indeed," Jason smiled, and this time I couldn't hold onto my grin anymore. The blush was flaming on my cheeks, the special warmth entrenched within somewhere I couldn't identify but only feel.
"Now, hurry up little Luna," Carter chuckled and motioned at the long rows of stairs that led to upstairs, "You mate is waiting for you."
I nodded and faster than ever I hugged Cassandra and Jason goodbye and on my way, have carter a quick hug too. I could hear their small snickers as in the speed of typhoon I ran up the stairs and the excitement overflowed my nerves.
The last thing I noticed in my sight before I was out of their view was Jason lightly sliding his hand around Cassandra's waist and pulling her closer to his arms whilst the same blush I always experienced when Kaden is closer to me shaded her face.
As I reached the room, my eyes instantly spotted the red bags laying on the bed. Besides the bags, there was a small envelope.
I took the envelope in my hands and opened it.
"My love, Sorry for the whole day of torturing distance. You can scold me as much as you want, but before that please increase the beauty of these gifts by wearing them in yourself. Don't make me wait for long. I can't stay away from my Angel for long."
~ Your Kaden.
I smiled like a fool as the giddy feeling spread all over.
I quickly picked the bag and pulled out the dress, a low gasp slipped past my lips as I looked at the baby blue pleated gown. It was so....beautiful. It has that A-line cut, puff sleeves, and pleated details throughout, the beautiful details finished with a cute thin bow at the waist.
The next bag had a box in it, I opened the box, and a beautiful pair of sparkly high heels came into my view, they were not too high and for some reason, I knew he had intentionally chosen the medium size since I'd not be able to walk in them.
I didn't miss any more minutes, and delicately wore the gown and the heels. I took the liberty to comb my hair and put on some gloss on my lips so that I could look decent.
A foreign nervousness was there, but there was that anticipation that kept me on the edge.
I grabbed the sides of the long gown to prevent myself from tripping and proceed towards the other side of the mansion with slow calculated steps.
If it wasn't for the high heels I would have had run at the speed of the wind until I reach Kaden.
But patience can make everything sweeter, right?
It took a few minutes until I was finally closer to the huge balcony situated at the backside of the mansion, the view of the sky was clear through the broad spacious windows. It was too beautiful indeed, but my eyes spotted something more amazing than the star-covered sky.
It was the view of the exact description I had read that day in the novel. Scented candles, rose petals leading towards the entrance of the balcony, the beautiful decoration of the lights that made themselves seem like they have landed from the sky.
And then there was Kaden, wearing a white shirt that had a few buttons undone and black ripped jeans, the simple clothes he had worn had defeated the entire image I had imagined of the male lead of that novel in a suit.
Our eyes locked and the flicker passed through his eyes, his lips parted in astonishment and he stared at me from my feet to my face where they stayed the most. He emitted a sigh and walked towards me, it was the moment I noticed the rose bouquet in his hand.
"You are looking gorgeous," Kaden breathed out and slid one of his free hands around my waist pulling me towards his body, my hands crept their way to sit on his chest, and my eyes as always only looked at the view they loved the most--Kaden himself.
"T-Thank you," I didn't know why I stuttered, but there was a relishing burn within my skin as his eyes fixated on me.
Kaden tucked a piece of my hair strand behind my ear and kissed my forehead, these sweet gestures of him always left me melting like a candle.
He kissed my cheek, then my other cheek, and stopped right before pressing his lips on mine.
"For you, my love." He spoke against my lips and pulled away only to hand me the bouquet, the smile instantly broke on my face.
"It's so beautiful!" I exclaimed and took it from his hand, the smell of fresh roses reminded me of those gardens I used to visit with my family.
There was a comforting warmth in nature that I could now find only in Kaden.
"Not more than you," He smiled and took ahold of my hand before leading me to the balcony.
There was a table for two decorated beautifully with flowers and candles, my heart swelled in happiness watching the view.
"This is your first date ever and apparently my first date too," He chuckled moving behind me and hugging me from there, his hands stopped at my belly and his chin rested on my shoulder.
"I didn't know much information about a date, or a candlelight dinner so I just stole a few ideas from the book you were reading." He admitted, and the small snicker slipped past my lips.
I turned around to face him and encircled my arms around his neck, my left hand rested against his jaw and cheek, "This is the best gift ever, this night with you and these surroundings I could not have asked anything more than this. You are all I could ever ask for."
Soon as I finished my sentence, he leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. The kiss was slow and sensual, the faint gust of wind caressed our body and made the fabric of the gown and my hair fly a bit.
As we broke the kiss, Kaden smiled ear to ear and looked at me.
He pulled away the slightest bit and I saw him pressing a button of a remote that has to be related to a music setup and the soft tune of the violin took over the silence along with the faint sound of the peaceful winds.
"Can I have a dance with you, angel?" He held his hand out and giggling I placed my hand on it before he kissed the back of it.
"I can dance my entire life away if it's with you," I told as he pulled me closer, the shine in his increased, and then his rhythmical movements began swaying our bodies ever so lightly.
We smiled, we talked, we laughed. In those slow dance movements, I found everything. The careless laughter that would emit through me every time he'd lift and spin me around, the smile that I had forgotten since that night, the happiness I had never felt.
Kaden's gentle caress of his words and his loving gaze melted away the ice.
I could wish nothing else at this moment. All I wanted was this movement to stay forever.
The waves of profound emotions, the warmth and the sincerity growing inside of me, and the need to stay just like this for eternity, be his for eternity, everything all together could only mean what I had learned from the books--I was in love. Too in love to take a step back from where I was.
