Chapter 12

Jasmine.

"Archer? Is it ordinary for Vampires to have a human as a mate?" I questioned. After their multiple remarks, I had finally grown used to calling by their names a few hours ago. It seemed awkward at the starting but now it was completely normal than I had thought it would be.

Lucien and Micheal were gone for some royal duties they'd to perform and Archer decided to stay with me so that I wouldn't get bored.

"No, as far as we know this hasn't happened before. Because if you think of the mating process, the venom in Vampire's blood needs to be injected into his mate's body and it can turn fatal for humans," He explained, his hand absent-mindedly drawing circles on the side of my waist, "So, for now all we know that it is rare to have a human being."

"So, you all can't complete the mating process with me?" I don't know why there was a weird pull at my chest. It was strange, I was a human and I didn't understand the importance of the mate bond yet it made the weird knot form in the middle of my chest.

Archer must've felt my discomfort so he just pulled me closer to his body, setting me on his lap and my back against his strong chest. His smell instantly wafted into my nostrils.

"We are trying to find a way, Lucien has already started to get at the information about it. You don't need to worry about it, Sweetheart," He kissed the side of my head.

"What if you can't find a way to mark me?" The question automatically left my mouth.

"Then we'll stay like this. All that matters to us is having you near to us." He whispered.

"It won't make it difficult for you to control the urge?" I was aware that vampires were possessive and their mark on their mate was the only thing that kept their feral sides calm.

Archer's body stiffened at my question, but he responded anyway even though it was hesitant.

"It doesn't matter, we have control over ourselves."

I slowly turned my head around to glance at him, there was something unbelievably enchanting in their dark eyes, the red speck surrounding them was undeniably captivating.

"But it would hurt it y'all, won't it?"

"No. As long as you are with us we won't hurt. All that matters is to, have our little mate with us." He flashed me a small smile and kissed my forehead.

"B-but..." He silenced me by pecking my lips.

"No more questions. You'll only keep your attention on us."

My brows rose in surprise and the heat traveled to my cheeks almost in an instant. Noticing my blush, he let out a chuckle pecked my lips again, and pushed us down on the bed with him hovering over me.

A small gasp tore from my throat upon his unanticipated movement.

"You are extremely gorgeous, do you know that?" His voice grew husky as he leaned in to brush his lips on my jaw. I instantly closed my eyes, my body relished the feel of his soft petal-like temptations on my skin.

"I am?" I found myself questioning, there was no way I could compete with the beauty of those gorgeous female vampires.

"You shouldn't have any doubts," His words sent vibrations to my entire body. His hands rested on both sides of my head and he trailed his nose on my neck.

My hands grabbed his shoulders when he placed a lingering kiss on a certain spot of my neck.

"Fuck!" He lowly cursed under his breath, "Your scent would drive me crazy."

I don't know why but a giggle tore from my mouth despite the questionable position we were in. He was almost double my size yet I could not find the tiniest bit of discomfort or fear.

They were dangerous and feared but I felt safe in their arms. They were irresistible but I did not have the intention to resist them either.

"Why are you smiling?" He questioned, a half-smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"I don't know. It just feels funny that a few days ago while coming to this mansion I was fearing that one mistake could cost my life and now all that is gone in a puff of air." I chuckled.

"We'd mistakenly build our image quite dangerous, huh?" He laughed.

"So what do toy want to say? Y'all are not dangerous?"

"Only when we want to be," He spoke.

"When?" I questioned out of curiosity.

"When we need," I could tell he was intentionally playing around words.

"And when do you need it?" I questioned, now sounding impatient.

He slowly leaned in something different glimmering in his eyes. "When someone disobeys us," His lips were dangerously close to mines, " Tell me. Does danger thrive you, little one?" He whispered against my lips.

A shiver ran down my spine, this time for a feeling mixture of both anticipation and suspicion.

To exactly answer his question, the only thing I could say was yes. Despite knowing I was fated to the world's most dangerous predators, I was still willingly submitting to them knowing that the same thing ran in my veins which they lived on--Blood. But the answer didn't leave my mouth.

I could only stare at him. He was so perfectly sculpted just like his other two brothers.

"What if I say yes?" It left my mouth automatically.

"Then...I'd love to give you a taste of it." He whispered closer to my ear.

All the air in my lungs left at his statement. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think straight. What he'd said had rooted the inexplicable desire deep into me and the way the meaning behind those words sounded completely different left the never-ending fire to gather in the pit of my stomach.

Surely, the vampire kings were not easy people to handle.

They were dangerous, their eyes were luring and their words were tempting.

And I in the middle of their attention was nothing but a girl whom they never even once failed to intimidate. Their powerful aura about their gentle behavior towards me but puzzling and endearing. Yet, I somehow wanted the feral inside to surface.

It felt like I was asking for the danger. Something inside me was trying to get out too but I just didn't know what was it. Surely humans didn't have two sides but at this moment, I felt like I had two sides; One laying under my skin and the other surfacing over it.

A knock on the door was what interrupted us.

Archer reluctantly got off me and went for the door while I sat up, smoothing my dress.

"What?" Noticing the annoyance in his voice, I looked towards the door and found a maid standing with her head low.

"Sorry for the interruption, your Majesty. But Your brothers are expecting you." She politely spoke.

"For what?"

"They didn't inform me, Your Majesty. They are in the hall waiting for you."

"Okay, fine. You can go now."He dismissed her and the maud left the place before he shut the door. I couldn't comprehend the irritated look on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked watching him roughly grabbing his overcast from the corner.

"I don't know. Micheal and Lucien seemed to get no other time than this to disturb me." He spoke and sat on the couch whilst he wore his shoes.

Oh, so this was the reason behind the scowl on his face.

"I wasn't asking about that," I couldn't help the giggle as I admitted, "I was talking about your expression."

He lifted one eyebrow at my statement, his hands working on tying the shoe tie.

"You are enjoying it, huh?" He questioned, his tongue tucked at the corner of his mouth.

"No, I didn't mean that." I spluttered.

"Oh, I exactly know what you meant." He laughed and walked closer to me.

"I-I...." I tried to speak but he snaked his hand around my waist pulled me closer, his movement made me sit on my knees and my hands rested on his chest for support.

"You don't need to explain, my love." He smiled tucking a piece of my hair strand behind my hair, "I'll be back soon, till then you can read some books if you feel bored or visit Martha." The mention of Martha made me bite my tongue.

I hadn't met her the whole day. Shit!

"Oh, I need to meet her. I couldn't meet Martha the whole day!" I exclaimed with eyes wide.

"You're adorable," He chuckled and kissed my cheek causing the blush to appear, I couldn't deny their effect on me and I knew they were well aware of it, "You can go and visit her, but come back soon okay?"

"Okay," I nodded and he let me go.

"Bye, little one." He smiled and then he was out of the room.

I sighed at the absence of his touch and proceeded out of the room to meet Martha. All that in my mind was, what kind could be the reaction I going receive from her after I tell her that I was the Vampire Kings' Mate.
