End
Isabelle
The soothing motion of someone's thumb against my back brought me back into my consciousness, a relief flooded within me once my eyes spotted the familiar surrounding and the light creeping through the gap of the curtain covering the window of the room --Kaden and my room.
Unwantedly the tears started gathering in my eyes as the memories begin creeping their way back into my mind. Kaden must have noticed my dilemma so he gently pulled my head closer to his chest allowing me to let out the pain with the warm tears streaming down my face.
"E-Everything is over....but why the pain never fades away, Kaden?" I choked on the sob, "Why do I still can't wipe away those memories?"
"Isabelle...." Kaden sighed cupping my face and making me look at him.
Tears were glistening in his eyes too but unlike mine, they didn't become apparent.
"Life is not meant to be all fairy tales and flowers. There are certain things that time makes us go through even though it turns into a nightmare for us, maybe some situations even becomes a burden of terrible memories we have to carry all time long but...." He wiped my tears away with his thumb placing a kiss on my forehead.
"It's about how we manage to find the light through this darkness, how we bring justice to those who were wronged, and how write our destiny defeating all the odds." A small smile displayed on his face as he looked at me.
"I just can't...can't forget those events. Even though I have killed them, the amount of pain they made my family go through...." A sob interrupted my sentence, "Orabelle's screams still ring in my ears, Kaden. The sight of my mom's blood, her last words. With my dad's tears, I can't seem to forget anything."
"You don't need to, love," He shook his head and caressed my cheek, comfortingly rubbing my back as he talked.
"Instead of trying to forget the imprinted dark memories, let yourself flourish in the ones you have celebrated. Every second you got to spend with your family, remember they are always watching you and in a better place and peace that nothing in this world could ever give them."
"I-I...."
He gently pulled me back to his chest provably understanding my predicament, "It's okay, with time everything is gonna be okay. I am here always." He whispered.
Another sob ripped through me and I hugged him tightly. As hard as it was to cope with the grief that hadn't lessened a bit over the years, it was true that those incidents were just a part of my life.
My mom, dad, and my sister were not with me but at the same time, I have their memories stored in my heart. They would always be beside me even though they were snatched away from me in the race against time.
I have gone through a storm and I have recovered from the damage and destruction, I was mended by the person who was still here comforting me whilst I was nothing but a mess.
I have got to realize the powers the creator has bestowed upon me, I have fulfilled the duty and overcame all the odds I have given the locket to the person who could protect the world beside me.
As much as cruel fate had snatched me from me, I was blessed with more than I could ever think of. Yes.....I have gone through hell and returned stronger than ever. I was not incomplete, I had the mark of the Lycan who has claimed me or forever, I have established the bonds that could never be broken.
I have not lost, in fact, in this race against time and storm that had threatened to take everything away, I have received the love of a mate and some wonderful people I could now call a family.
"I love you...I can't even express how much I need you. You are everything I could ever wish for." I whispered placing my hand on his cheek and lightly brushing my stubble on his stubble.
A smile broke on his face upon hearing my statement, he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it soothing the ache that had appeared due to the longing.
"I love you too, my love," He leaned closer placing a gentle kiss on my lips, "And from now I promise I'd never give you a reason to shed these precious tears." He wiped my tears with his thumbs.
"Thank you for everything, Kaden. Thanks for..."
"Isabelle, don't thank me for..." He began but I cut him off.
"No, let me say this time because you deserve it," I put my finger on his lips silencing his words that remained untold.
I moved closer placing a kiss on his forehead, "Thanks for coming into my life, hauling me out of the darkness making me brighter."
"Thanks for accepting me when I had nothing but scars and past trauma." I kissed his eyelids.
"Thanks for making me yours and being there when I needed you the most," I whispered moving lower to kiss his cheek.
With each of my words and movement, I could feel his body relaxing more than ever, the smile remaining there on his lips as evidence of how much my words were affecting him.
"Thanks for loving me with all my imperfections, holding my hand in the tough times, and being here today and willing to stay forever." I smiled through the tears, "The promise of eternities you have given me and you love that you have showered on me."
"And thanks for mending me, sealing the cracks, and making me yours the way no one can ever separate us." And I pressed my lips against his.
The warmth flooded my veins in seconds, his lips began moving in sync with mine.
For the first time, I did not have to worry about the future and what moment might separate us. Everything had ended but for good.
Maybe I did not have those nightmares stored in a part of my memory but the brightest moments were there too.
"Welcome home, Isabelle." Kaden's whispered after breaking the kiss and pressing his forehead against mine.
"Could there be an any better place than here huh?" The smile broke on my face as I buried my head into his neck and wrapped my arms around him.
I could feel a smile tugging at his lips as he engulfed me in his arms placing a kiss atop my head.
"No, and you'll always stay right here," He said smiling, "Always in my arms."
"Yes, I'll stay here. For forever..." I whispered.
My life was puzzled out again, like a missing piece of a puzzle Kaden has fulfilled me. Maybe I did not have had the best life but at this moment, the lovely future I could see with him without any obstacles that could lurk from the past. My life was fulfilled, with...Kaden Moretti whose hand has never left mine from the day he rescued me from that dark forest and made me a part of his soul that only led me to the brightest places.
